That party scene in Heartstopper is so funny because Nick has a life changing moment where he observes two queer people being happy and is like "wow, that can be me" and runs off to find the boy he's falling in love with and when he finally finds him, that boy says he ran into his shitty ex Ben
The pure anger that appears in Nick's face is just so...

I feel so bad for Luca & Gemma but mostly Luca. We only see 45 minutes of their day & the edit of this show is doing them so dirty. Everyone who has met him or know him says he is the most genuine guy but here we have the team behind Love Island trying to show him as some possessive creep.
Luca is valid for feeling insecure & I personally think Gemma should put more boundaries with the other guys, especially after Luca communicates how it makes him feel. Do I think Gemma deserves more trust? Yes of course, Luca has nothing to worry about because it’s obvious how much they like each other!
I understand where both of them are coming from. But this editing of the show is not doing any of them justice.

The best thing about Love Island isn’t Love Island, it’s the memes.

Gemma: If he is that easily led, if you go away for a few days and he’s not fucking strong enough in his own mind to keep his dick in his fucking pants then he can fuck off anyway
As predicted, I take back every bad word I ever said/thought about that girl. I’m happily eating my own words, I want her and Luca to win 😘🔥

I never thought this would happen to me. Me neither.
I've always loved this part of the scene because it's sunny and bright and warm, and also emotional and private compared to the jubilant 'we're boyfriends!' exclamation that follows.
But I also appreciate that this moment is a bit reflective and tinged with sadness for what could have been.
For Nick, I think in this moment he's thinking that if things had gone differently, had he not befriended and fallen for Charlie, had his world not been turned upside down in the best possible way and allowed him to discover his true self, he might not have had this with Charlie.
But for Charlie -- sweet, loving, 15-year old Charlie, who at the beginning of the episode thought the world might be a better place without him in it -- I think that up until this moment, he truly believed that he wouldn't ever have this. Not with Nick, or anyone else.
It's such a sad prospect I can barely stand to think about it. Which makes the fact that they have found each other, that they do have this now and can acknowledge and appreciate it in this quiet, intimate moment, so much more beautiful.

You should try rugby. It's good for releasing negative emotions.
For @rdhintheodh, because there are never enough gifs of Tao's iconic eyebrow raise.

Arcade hug scene - 1.05
Today's random but obsessive thought about Heartstopper is related to Nick hugging Charlie in the arcade after overhearing him and Tao in the bathroom. The hug itself is my favorite in the show, but this part is what keeps me up at night.
Nick is absolutely clinging to Charlie. You can see how sorry he is, how he needs Charlie to know that he isn't messing with him. That his feelings are sincere even though there are a lot of external things weighing on his mind. But this part, where he opens his eyes for a second, feels like a moment of awakening. I think he knows he's on a precipice -- he can't keep hurting Charlie (no matter how unintentionally) and knows that Charlie deserves better than to wonder if this thing between them is going to be something real and open. And Nick deserves all of these things too! He can have them if he's willing to take the chance.
I think it's in this second that he makes his decision, and so he closes his eyes and hugs Charlie even closer for a few seconds longer. I analyzed their kiss in a separate post but this moment has always felt monumental to me too.
