Wow .... A hell of a lot has happened !!! I can not even begin to explain in a Nutshell ....

Applied through the Directors UK guild to shoot a trailer with an ARRI Alexa

We won

So I had to produce a trailer

James had to Direct a trailer

The amazing Joel Devlin shot the trailer

an amazing crew give up their valuable and precious time for two days

A superb Cast - Adriano Smith, Velibor Topic, David Westhead , Celyn Jones, Sarah MacRae, Nicky B

Got some amazing help and equipment from Leonard & Chapman, Take2Films, Centrestage Studios, St Anne's Church amongst many others

I met an amazing Line Producer @farhanabhula

ENVY did a wonderful post on the trailer with the help of Kate G !!

And then it screened at BAFTA ..... as you do, as part of the london film festival

An Adventure with Boris ....

Been a busy week with the 'White Room' from budgeting to location hunting and trying to find some of that much needed 'Mahoney' !!  

The "White Room" is Still in very, very early stages .... but  I can not tell you how difficult putting a budget together is .... Can not begin to write down all the different variables. 

So the easy bit is doing crew and cast and equipment to film (not so much the logistics of moving all these around) ..... the fun comes with the catering, Materials, Locations times of day, availability. But with the some help from some friends and people i have asked favours of, I am slowly getting there with how much "The White Room" should cost ...... 

I also rented my first Boris Bike this week .... You know how they look really heavy and bulky ..... well they are not ....  i was  really surprised ... comfortable to ride and light anyway so with my trusted steed  I cycled around Brick Lane, and the surrounding area, and after getting lost, going down one way streets the wrong way, I managed to find some really cool little places. I have never been to the part of London before and it reminded my of the Boroughs in New York City, literally a different culture or community every 50 yards .... the highlight was finding 'Bangla City' what a brilliant name for a shop ... loads better than ' Tesco, ASDA ' please check out the pictures I have taken, I am going to post the treatment to the "White Room" on here in the next few weeks, so hopefully the locations may make more sense. 

Anyway i Hope everyone has a good weekend !!

The Project .... "The White Room" (working title)

So to give a little more information about the project below is the synopsis .....  

'White Room' is a taught poignant thriller, which tells the story of Alberto, an illegal Columbian immigrant trying to earn a living in the unforgiving city of London. 

Set against Brick Lane, the vibrant 'heartbeat' of London's east end, 'The White Room' focuses on Alberto's journey as he seeks to find a purpose to his life.

Whilst working as a masseur in 'The White Room', Alberto engages with many marks and beautiful drawings on the bodies of his clients. Becoming increasingly fixated on the teachings of Nostradamus, he begins to obsessively draw the marks he sees on the human body, believing that it may be possible to see someone's future. Meanwhile, the city of London is experiencing the run up to the Mayoral elections. Candidates and their huge entourages are shaking hands, kissing babies, engaging audiences and promising all matter of things to win the hearts and minds of London's voters. The big issue is immigration and candidate Jackie Jordan proves himself to be the immigrants' choice, until Alberto discovers certain markings on Jackie's body. Convinced that Jackie is the local immigrant community's worst nightmare, Alberto resolves to stop him at any cost, with devastating effects. 

This was the artwork that was developed for the project .... a while a go ... I feel it needs a lot of work ... suggestions and feedback would be appreciated :)

How do you start writing a blog ..... i guess I just have ... 

So my name is AJ !! I work for a film company called New Black Films (follow them @newblackfilms ) over the past 18 months New Black, have produced and made two feature docs - One called  One Night In Turin  and the latest release From the Ashes  click on them to find out more !! 

However I like Docs but i love fiction so I have set myself a goal and a target ( call me crazy ) but i want to make a feature film by the time i am 25 !! ... The Deadline date is the 4th of July 2012  thats a little less than ten months !! 

The aim is to take this movie from the 8th drafted script to finishing post production ... taking everything into account and getting a handle on everything from setting up companies, finding finance, budgeting, scheduling, marketing, casting,  location scouting, finding crew, shooting, editing, legals the whole works !!!

throughout this 'adventure' 'endeavour' I'll posting everything i am doing (or trying to)  ... the one thing i have learned from being a tiny part of this industry in the last 18 months nothing goes quite to plan, so i am definitely in for an extraordinary journey !!

However with all quests !! I do have the help of some 'Donors' in @jjerskine ( Obi-Wan ) and Victoria Gregory  ... But this movie is what I make it ... and I will make it !! 

Eventually i'll get into Video Blogs / audio blogs / all that jazz ... ill be honest just need to figure it out on here .... 

Anyway i look forward to you hopefully following me in this quest !!
