The girl with the golden crab. 2020, acrylic on canvas (100x73cm) . . I was working again on an old Huli portrait because I wasn’t happy with the first result. I came up with this version and when I added her a body I realize de resemblances between her pose and the pose of the girl from Vermeer’s “The girl with a pearl”. Charlotte. 2020, acrylic on canvas (100x73cm) . . A Charlotte Rampling’s portrait based on a picture of her from the 60’s. The face came out at once, but took me a lot of time and tries to achieve the right composition. At first I tried to make her body to fit in the painting but it didn’t look good. Less is more, and the most important in this painting was to keep the focus on her face and hair, so I decided just to hint the prescence of her body by using a couple of lines for the shirt and breasts. And voilà!
