ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ“THAT’S ME?” COMES THE SOFT REMARK,ㅤvoice caught between awe & disbelief as his gaze settles on the sketch [ as if though the image might dissolve if he dared to touch it too quickly ] Evil Jax’s mouth twitches, unsure whether he’s allowed to feel proud of this moment or if doing so would ruin said moment. Gangle’s picture is bright; brighter than anything he ever imagined himself being, & the lines are expressive in ways he’s never allowed himself to be. She’s made him look as if he were simply… himself [ gentle, kind ] The ribboned hand that offered it shakes a little, & it makes something in him ache just ever so; he folds inward slightly, bringing himself closer to her level, ( —a statue warming under a softer sun, ) “You even got the ears right,” a breathless huff that passes for a laugh. “Most people just draw them too long. But you… you really looked, didn’t you?” Evil Jax reaches out to point to the little flick of hair she’d added; stylized fluff that made his usually messy tuft look intentional, realizing it makes him feel cute. He can’t remember the last time he felt that way,

“You didn’t have to make me look like this,” he continues, thoughtful, like he’s talking to her & himself at once, “You could’ve made a joke out of me. Made me goofy or creepy or… whatever people think I’m supposed to be. B-but you didn’t.” He looks at her then [ truly looks ] & there’s something raw & oddly reverent behind his expression, [ perhaps afraid he’ll never be given this kind of kindness again; he must cherish it! ] “You made me look like someone worth drawing,” purple digits twitch slightly against his leg, allowing the sincerity to sit, ( awkward & bright & terrifying, ) “You’re really good at seeing people, Miss Gangle; if this is version of me only exists in your drawing, well… then I-I think I’d rather live there than out here,” He realizes he’s still staring, & when he looks away, it’s only to mask how wet his eyes have gotten ( just a little! Just enough to embarrass him if she noticed, ) “M-may I keep it?” he mutters, “It’s… the nicest thing anyone’s ever made for me. Promise I’ll take good care of it; maybe even learn how to sit still next time,” he offers her a lopsided, earnest smile [ awkward, crooked, utterly unpolished ] “Would y-you be willing to teach me how to draw sometime?”

Listen, Could you really blame Gangle for wanting to hang out with the ' evil ' version of Jax? he was just so much nicer! This Jax didn't try and trip her or always bring her down about everything, no, they seemed to have a quiet peace as Gangle seemed to be drawing them. Her pencil sketched and scratched at the pad in her ribboned hand, a gentle smile on her comedy mask that hadn't yet to be broken.

She was about done, just adding a few more finishing pieces to the picture, her pencil working wonders on the page. Once she finally finished, she would carefully turn it around with shaky hands and a shy little smile to her mask. It was a drawing of Jax, a bit more anime styled and a lot cuter than normal.

Queenie never raised her voice; not even once. Whenever she was truly upset, she would simply stop speaking, stop smiling, & look at you with an unreadable, too-still gaze. Kinger would say it felt like being studied under glass; like she'd quietly decided to let you destroy yourself. Her kindness was never performative, but it was deliberate, & when it withdrew, it left a very hollow chill behind. In the Circus [ since they inhabit new, digital bodies ] the effect was a lot less visible & more of a feeling. The other members only knew that the room felt colder, more brittle. Her silence flattened everything around it, & when she chose not to look at you, not to offer even her usual half-smile ( in this case, her smile was expressed with her eyes ), it was because you messed up real bad,

"Is it that obvious?" Shazzy let out an awkward laugh from where she had gotten herself stuck... up in one of the play place zones that existed within the Tent. One of her legs had got wrapped up in those seatbelt like netting sections, and no matter what she did, she couldn't clown her way out of it.

"COULD YA POSSIBLY LEND ME A HAND?" She called down, deciding to match the other's volume despite it being unnecessary.

Is anyone else suspicious of Bubble? (Spoilers ahead!)

Bubble is played like a silly side character, but I noticed something in the 3rd episode and recent episode that makes it feel like they might be playing a bigger role.

In episode 3, there's a subplot where Zooble and Caine are having a little 'therapy' session. Caine is obviously not paying attention at all while Zooble is trying to convey their feelings. But there's a point where they point out to Caine that his adventures aren't good and Caine does this.

He starts losing himself and the world starts glitching and distorting around them. Zooble obviously stops Caine from doing that, but here's what I noticed after that.

Bubble shows up there at the end when Caine is in the chair. Zooble is actually listening a little (that's kind of how their character is written. We learn they were a bartender in the most recent episode, and that's actually a stereotype of that job set.) But Bubble is also there.

Now, again, Bubble probably is a throw-away gag character, but I noticed something in the newest episode that made me think otherwise.

There's a split second where Bubble and Caine are having a quick chat because Caine is beginning to have a meltdown about the others not liking his adventures. Bubble begins to say this-

"You should die-" before "glitching" out quickly and saying Caine should "throw a fucking beach party" instead. At first, I thought, 'Okay, that's kind of weird.' But then yeah, I thought back to the other instance of Bubble being sus and looked back through the episodes.

This scene is from the pilot episode. Caine and Bubble are having a meal, and Caine says, "Oh, Bubble, you always know how to make me say this exact sentence."

Part of me thinks Caine might actually be an AI developed for this Digital Circus, but part of me thinks he might also be the actual first person trapped in the Digital Circus, and his brain is being kept alive by Bubble, who may or may not be some programmer attempting to keep the Digital Circus running by themselves.

Anyway, that's just a theory.

In life, Queenie & Kinger weren’t officially married; not legally, anyway. They were the type of couple who didn’t put much stock in traditional institutions like marriage. They were deeply committed, but never needed a ring or a ceremony to prove it. Kinger, likely a reclusive computer nerd, probably didn’t care about formalities as long as he had her. But once inside the Circus? That changed. Maybe for fun, maybe for comfort, they got ‘married’ within the simulation; a private ceremony, just between them both in their fortress. Everyone just assumed they were married anyway, & they never corrected it. In many ways, it meant more than paperwork ever could,
