Quick and dirty recreation of this obscure Gorillaz Sound System promo art, cobbled together from what few quality pictures exist online. Though not created by Jamie, this picture's still really wicked - I love obscure GSS stuff.

The latest, and likely most horrifying addition to my possibly neverending Gorillaz collection... a variety of defective SuperPlastic Tranz 2-D pieces! These aren't "prototypes", exactly, but instead takes on the figure that were rejected for one reason or another. Unfortunately, no full figure out of the set, but I'm really psyched to have this striking array of mutilated Stuart remains.

I've just received these guys all the way from China, and I'm planning to make a full-on video giving them a more thorough look; - but, off the bat, it's an interesting glimpse into these figures' production. Each piece seems to have its issue, or otherwise imperfect area; whether it be misshapen pegs/sockets, general warping, stray vinyl, etc. Funny to me that the eyes and hair were inserted at this point in manufacturing, but not the teeth. Love that cute "ghastly screaming pain" look!

The figures are absolutely caked in dirt; literally getting my hands dirty just opening them. With SuperPlastic having just announced their closure, I wouldn't be surprised if these were found strewn aside some odd factory closing up shop - looks like 2-D's rotten corpse(s). I'm planning to clean 'em up, and display them in some kind of shadowbox frame; they're pretty dang one-of-a-kind, and definitely a new holy grail for my happy landfill of Gorillazish garbage.
