yeah, i kinda wish her anger and frustrations going away as she learned to trust the rest of the squad and also realizing what she has done wrong was her arc instead of her romance with speed, or I kinda wish she had that arc before her romance with speed, but we kinda just skipped that to her speed romance arc.

Eeveelution Squad

A lot of opinions I had changed for me when I started reading it again like a couple months ago but heres my little rant.

I get Lazuli is meant to be cold and aggressive cause her past and all that, but my main problem is shes barely been aggressive to anyone else ive only really seen her be aggressive towards Speed. I’m sure theres moments wheres shes a little aggressive with other characters that i’m forgetting but like 95% of the time it’s directed at Speed. She hits him, tosses him around, and is rude to him, I’ve never seen her be like that with other characters except that one time with Silvia when she was about to tell Speed about Lazulis crush on him.

Now that I’m done talking about that, let me rant about another thing that’s lightly related to Lazuli but is more so related to Speed. Why doesn’t nobody ever help him more? Like he’s constantly getting beaten by Lazuli, I’ve barely seen someone step in and try to stop it. Pearl does once, and also steps in when Black kicked him one time, but I can’t really think of any other time. And I don’t get it, you’d think Leaf would be concerned at the fact her sister is always beating this one guy up, or Pearl at the fact her best friend is getting beaten up by this one member a lot. Leaf talks to her about it once in Chapter 3, not sure if she ever does ever again.

This is my first rant for now, and this is also my first post. Give your opinions, and also sorry if theres a typo anywhere that I missed.

Speed/Lazuli/Silvia: a Romantic Relationship that's not great...(4)

You know the drill...so let's just get to it.

Previously, I mentioned about this:

To get to the point, this is BS and I'll tell you why, Lazuli and Sivia had not really been shown much to act motherly, as a matter of fact Lazuli doesn't interact much with Sunshine and Silvia once gave her advice to try to get Speed's attention. From their few times interacting with one another, they were either aware of each other or Sunshine views them as older sisters which makes more sense as that's what they've shown so far and having sibling-like relationships is shown within the members of the squad. But now we get this and of course Silvia and Lazuli eventually take on that role. Why?

It's most likely for the ship between Speed(her adoptive father), Lazuli, and Silvia and that's kind of it. I can see it being the only reason why Sunshine would ever refer to either of them as her mother figures and that does annoy me a bit because there is already a character that is far more suited for the role.

Pearl.

Pearl is shown as the motherly, mature figure and takes care of Sunshine when Speed's not there, she makes an active priority over Sunshine and later as well Axel, keeping watch and support for them. I like this about her character and it would've paid off more if instead of Lazuli and Silvia to be known as Sunshine's mothers(for the ship) but rather Pearl as she actually acts like one for Sunshine.

Now to divert a little bit, I would like to mention some other things I hadn't been able to get to yet.

There can be the argument about Lazuli having a bit of a troubled background as she and her sister, Leaf, were forced to leave and were abandoned by their father which to some people, explains and justifies her behavior but I disagree.

Speed doesn't do much wrong, he actively tries to help others and tries to be their older brother because it's how he grew up and how he lived. Lazuli keeps targeting and beating him up for the smallest reasons and though Speed is forgiving, it doesn't justify it especially when Lazuli for a while doesn't stop and acts like it for months straight. Not only that, when given the chance, Speed tries to help her, he offers room for privacy as well as try to understand the best of his ability on the experiences Lazuli had gone through(which compared to some of the other members, isn't all that much).

It's mentioned that Lazuli used to be like Leaf but afterward, she grew up to be a lot more harsher and quick to getting violent which may explain why Leaf stills holds Lazuli highly as Lazuli most likely was protective over her. But what if it was the opposite, that Leaf was the one that grew up like that and treated Flare this way? Would that be okay? Would it be okay for the other characters, because I doubt Speed would see it and think it's normal. Speed would protect Flare and fight, similar to how CC knocked back Flare and Speed imminently rushed to attack.

I said this before but why is her behavior always targeted toward Speed? Why does she not act like this to the other members of the squad alongside characters like Spike? If the relationship was the one we were supposed to root for, wouldn't it better and make more sense for the opposite where Lazuli is aggressive toward everyone else but doesn't act this way toward Speed(and of course Leaf but you get my point)? It makes her actions seem just targeted and realistically, Speed would be gradually more hesitant about forgiving her as she continues this until the vacation where she complains that he dodges and later gets "one more punch."

Then there is SIlvia...

Yeah, she has no excuses for the things she had done, the only thing that could be stretched is her lack of a mother but otherwise, she seems to be living fine, doesn't seem too bothered, and nobody calls her out on her crap.

I may have shown this already but in case I didn't, in Special Chapter Two, Sunshine worries that if she becomes a Sylveon, Speed won't love her because they don't ever get along. Just goes to show that Silvia's actions have an impact as it bothers Speed and makes Sunshine hesitant on evolving to the form she wants as she thinks Speed isn't going to be happy with it and won't love her anymore.

Also, "big sis-Sylveon" which somehow turned into Silvia being seen as a mother alongside the other member who hurts Speed the most.

This relationship stems from the fact that Lazuli keeps up with her behavior for most of the comic, nobody calls out Silvia, and nobody defends Speed. Silvia feels justified for majority if not nearly all of her actions and doesn't question Speed's responses or reasoning and sometimes just ignores them. Lazuli needs more harsher punishments and treatment or at least be actively seen negatively by the members given all they've seen of her is punch, argue, body slam, and attack the one she has a crush on as it is just that obvious and for some reason, Speed just can't see the love in the air, I wonder why? Instead, Lazuli talks about the opposite where everyone is so nice to her despite all she had done to everyone else, but like I argued before, she mainly focuses on hurting Speed and not anyone else. By the way, isn't Speed mainly an older brother for the majority of the characters such as Leaf(who mentions viewing him as a brother and rejects him for that), Flare(actual sibling), Kris(actual sibling), Black(reminds him of Frost but is debatable). and Silvia(at one point but for some reason changed to a romantic relationship)? Are they all just okay of the one of the members that helps take care of them and is relatively a nice and good guy(as well as pay for a lot of stuff) being treated like this? Especially months after they all met up for the first time?

I am thinking of making a post about Speed's abuse and how he's just had it the worst during his time with the squad. Looking at it, it makes me start to think...

Maybe Speed leaving the group for five years according to the future of what was supposed to happen makes a lot more sense than we originally thought.

Oh, I am never forgetting this by the way:

Yes, Speed, what is in fact wrong with you after you finally after all this time(topped with existential crisis) gave Lazuli the biggest punch of a life time and started acting out violently.

Especially when...

this has happened...

Then they have the audacity to say this:

How dare he, really! (In case you didn't get this reference, it's based off of Madvicate's review on the CW Flash Series).

Now then, this marks the supposing end of my review of why this romance is awful and should not have worked, throughout each post, I gave advice on what could've happened and I hope to whoever reads them, they either agree and got convinced or at the very least, got a new perspective.

I hope you enjoyed this long, overly necessary explanation on my opinion over this relationship happening in the comic.
