Fun fact: I thought both of these coaches were the opposite gender at first (I thought Blaze was a male and I thought You Spin Me Round (Like A Record) was female). I came up with these friendship headcanon because of this fact ngl 😭 I also think these two could be friends because they give off similar vibes imo—very chaotic and purple.

BONUS: I think both of them would be friends with Sexy And I Know It, the three of them all being friends. I’m just not including his picture because I have other coaches I would like to talk about (if I add his picture here, I’ll reach the image max on Tumblr 💔) and I mainly wanted to focus on Blaze & You Spin Me Round (Like A Record) because I feel like their vibes are super similar to each other (mainly because of the purple).

Weird alien/creature girlies. I think these two would be best friends—they would do all sorts of girlie stuff together. Go to the mall together, try on new clothes together, makeup, do each other’s nails (if Cthylla even has nails???), talk about boys, etc. They DEFINITELY talk about Only You (And You Alone) P1’s relationship with Only You (And You Alone) P2. I headcanon that ever since P1 found P2 despite P1’s unconventional appearance, Cthylla was given hope that she’ll eventually find love despite her unconventional appearance (she hasn’t found love yet but keep searching girlie).

I like to think that Mihaly would get along with the members of Lean On. I headcanon that they all meditate together and practice calm vibes together and all of that good stuff. I haven’t gotten into all of the lore surrounding Mihaly (or any of the actual JD lore for that matter), but seeing their vibe kind of reminded me of the vibes Lean On give off, so I thought they would all be friends. I think Mihaly would get along with Lean On P1 and Lean On P2 the most, but they like all of them.

I don’t really have much of an explanation for these two except for the fact that they look similar and gives off similar vibes. Okay, I recently discovered that Ghastly Giselle exists and I absolutely LOVE her!!! Her design is absolutely beautiful and her design alone has become one of my all time favorite Just Dance coach designs. Due to this, I’m absolutely in love with her and decided to start making headcanons for her immediately. Ghastly Giselle somewhat reminded me of Naughty Girl so I thought these two would be friends. Mystic girlies 🔮

Again, sorry if these explanations are again really shitty! Fame & Flashdance… What A Feeling

Irene Cara and gym besties!!! I think Fame & Flashdance… What A Feeling would be friends due to both of their songs being Irene Cara songs and the two coaches having athletic/workout aesthetics. I headcanon that the two of them exercise together and listen to each other’s respective songs together. Both of their songs are also very upbeat and motivational, so that’s another reason why I think these two would be friends.

I think these two would be friends based on how kind and nice the two of them seem. I like to think that they are both against violence and fighting and only want peace amongst people, the two of them bonding over this idea. I think both Emmy and Sara’s upbeat and kind vibes is something the two of them would also get along over.

Forget You & Arleen

Okay, I know this one seems nonsensical and weird, but I’ll try my best to explain: I came up with this friendship headcanon based on the fact that both Forget You & abc (nicer) are both song titles that have been replaced by their clean version (ik these two aren’t the only songs that are replaced by their clean version but it’s not about those other songs). Most prominently, the key word censored in both of these songs is the word “fuck.” Forget You and abc (nicer) are both songs about toxic relationships and I headcanon that both of them were each in a toxic relationship at some point. I think the two of them would bond and understand each other over this fact, Forget You & Arleen becoming good friends. I know Arleen looks mean, but due to everything I explained relating to these two, I think she would like Forget You.

I also came up with this friendship because of a silly Just Dance meme I found on Reddit (link to meme here). I thought it was funny and another reason why Forget You and Arleen would be friends.

DRAG QUEENS!!! (Or Rita Piña is trans in my headcanon??? I haven’t decided yet…) I think these two would be great friends. I think Fuchsia would make a great fashion designer and makeup artist, and has helped design Rita Piña’s outfits and makeup. Matter of fact, I think they designed each other’s outfits and makeup! I also headcanon Fuchsia as some sort of fashion host—Fuchsia shows off Rita’s outfits, absolutely adoring them (because she helped design them hehehehe).

I don’t have the best reasoning for this one but I think these two would be friends because… hearts??? I dunno, both of them kind of have a whole heart aesthetic going on, so I think these two would get along. I think LYLALS could look up to Cupid—I headcanon that Cupid teaches Love You Like A Love Song about all of the secrets of love and even how to make people fall in love. Also both are really pretty so yeah maybe that’s another reason both of them could be friends

Sorry if these explanations are really messy! I don’t exactly have the best reasoning for these friendships in the same way I have for ships—I just see two coaches, decide if they have similar vibes, and decide if they could get along or not. Am I the only one who thinks Just Dance comics would be a really cool idea?

Maybe it’s the DC enthusiast in me (I’ve never read a single DC comic in my life), but I think Just Dance comics would be totally superstar.

And a lot of other notable video game franchises have comics! Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda (I think “manga” would be the more appropriate term), Sonic, and Splatoon (again, “manga” would be the more appropriate term but still a book) are a few examples. Given Just Dance’s popularity, why not give them comics?

It would also be an excuse for another interest of mine to have comics 😋 (some of my other interests include DC, Super Mario, Splatoon, Avatar: The Last Airbender/The Legend of Korra [I’m way more of an ATLA fan but I like TLOK too] if you were curious)

So yeah. Ubisoft. Just Dance comics. Make it happen.

I believe some of you know that You’re the First, the Last, My Everything is one of my favorite Just Dance 4 maps and one of my favorite Just Dance maps in general. I love the song, I love the coaches, and the routine, while simple, I love too.

I’m also a huge Barry White fan—I love his music, and You’re the First, the Last, My Everything is just one of the songs I love by him. If anybody wanted me to, I would talk your ear off about how much I love him.

With this being said, I headcanon that all of the coaches of You’re the First, the Last, My Everything all became best friends after their encounter with each other in the elevator (and as you know within this friendship I am a P1 x P4 and P2 x P3 shipper). I also headcanon that due to them loving You’re the First, the Last, My Everything so much they decided to discover the rest of Barry White’s catalog together. While they all still love You’re the First, the Last, My Everything, I headcanon that they each have their favorite songs by him.

“Nettes, what are you getting at with all of this?” Good question!

I wanted to make this post dedicated to Barry White songs that remind me of each of them and songs that I think each of them would love. I’ve had this idea in my head for a while and I’ve finally decided to put it into action.

Consider this me also trying to put you on Barry White. PLEASE listen to his music, his songs are sweet, rich, romantic, and deeply full of passion. I need more Barry White fans in my life to talk to 😞💔

P1 - Sho’ You Right (1987)

“The same things turns you on turns on me…”

I picked “Sho’ You Right” for P1 because of the more confident and swanky(?) vibes this song has in comparison to other Barry White songs. “Sho’ You Right” is confident and just a little cocky but not in a bad way—in a way that is confident and intimate. In the You’re the First, the Last, My Everything routine, P1 exerts this confident, wild, energetic energy in the routine when he dances (specifically in the intro and the part where they each get each their solo), so I think “Sho’ You Right” fits P1 perfectly. “Sho’ You Right” has this steady groove that has these confident, energetic, swanky, and certain vibes—and that is exactly how I see P1 carry himself. P1 doesn’t need to say much to prove his worth, because his energy already does.

P2 - Baby, We Better Try To Get It Together (1976) & Put Me In Your Mix (1991)

“We need each other now, darling, more than ever…”

“I can love you right, can we start tonight, in your mix…”

I picked “Baby, We Better Try To Get It Together” for P2 because I think the vibes of the song match P2 a lot. I think the calm, elegant, smooth, and slow vibes of the song match P2’s vibes. “Baby, We Better Try To Get It Together” has that emotional maturity, like someone who has experienced, studied, and knows what love is. It’s serious yet tender and passionate, which fits the suit-and-tie energy P2 brings—that feeling of being calm, collected, composed, elegant, and put together but not immune to being hurt.

In the case of “Put Me In Your Mix,” I actually didn’t associate this song with P2 at first. I thought it was “too freaky” for him at first. However, I changed my mind: “Put Me In Your Mix” brings in those composed and elegant vibes which I think suit P2 perfectly. P2 wants to connect yet he still manages to be calm, elegant, and composed. The purple hair, the bright purple shoes (and they’re sparkly ✨)—he’s not all business. P2 isn’t begging—he is negotiating, with feeling. That’s his version of vulnerability.

BONUS: The outfit Barry White is wearing in the album cover for “Put Me In Your Mix” also just reminds me of P2:

You can’t tell me P2 wouldn’t look good in this outfit.

P3 - I’ll Do For You Anything You Want Me To (1975)

“The thrill from loving you, I can’t help myself, I swear it’s true…”

I picked “I’ll Do For You Anything You Want Me To” for P3 because he gives off golden retriever energy in my eyes and this song is pure devotion. P3 is deeply dependable and someone who is always there. He’s easygoing, chill, nice, grounded, and everything about him screams warmth. “I’ll Do For You Anything You Want Me To” is so gentle—so full of feeling without being overbearing. This song captures that kind of honest loyalty, that uncomplicated sweetness that feels like it doesn’t exist anymore, except it does—in P3. He feels like someone who doesn’t need grand gestures to show you he dares. P3 just does things for you, because that’s how he loves. Simple, generous, and soft.

P4 - Don’t Make Me Wait Too Long (1976)

“Can’t you see it’s only you I want, and you I need?”

I picked “Don’t Make Me Wait Too Long” for P4 because I see him as a bit of an oddball in the sweetest, softest, romantic, and cutest way. “Don’t Make Me Wait Too Long” has this pleading, emotional vulnerability under a glossy, lush arrangement. There’s so much emotion in him, but he doesn’t quite know how to express all the way. That’s why this song hits so hard—it’s all about the anticipation, the longing, the quietly aching wait for something real. I can actually imagine a routine coming out of this idea relating to P4: I picture P4 is a bit nervous in his movements yet there is a sense of confidence in them. I can picture P4 joyfully dancing to this song in an upbeat and bouncy nature, similar to the vibe of the song. P4 is hopeful, and “Don’t Make Me Wait Too Long” puts that hope into words—not desperate, just aching gently, earnestly.

P2 & P3 - Oh Love, Well We Finally Made It (1974) & I Can’t Believe You Love Me (1974)

“Ah, the two of us in love together, henceforth, now and forever…”

“You’re so doggone sweet to share your love with only me…”

I’m a P2 x P3 shipper and since I’m talking about Barry White, I thought it would feel empty to not talk about these two. I picked “Oh Love, Well We Finally Made It” for what P2 and P3 represent in my opinion. P2 is all composed precision; P3 is warmth. This is off topic from “Oh Love, Well We Finally Made It” but I’ve always headcanoned that P2 & P3 call each other their sun and moon (P2 is the moon, P3 is the sun), a callback to the lyrics “You’re my sun, my moon, my guiding star…” from “You’re the First, the Last, My Everything.” They’re always orbiting each other, just like the sun and moon (okay the sun and moon don’t actually orbit each other but shut up I’m being sentimental here)—and it feels like something that took time. “Oh Love, Well We Finally Made It” is a song for two people who’ve been through it, who maybe didn’t start in the same place but finally arrived at understanding and love. They’re dancing together. They made it.

In the case of “I Can’t Believe You Love Me,” I picked this song for P2 and P3 because I think it’s what P2 would never say out loud, but finally thinks in P3’s presence. It’s a stunned gratitude. P3 shows him a kind of love that’s not performative, that just exists, and P2 is stunned yet enamored and amazed that he was chosen by P3. It’s quiet, but it’s huge. The two of them are just enamored, lovestruck, and amazed that they’re together—they can’t believe they love each other.

P1 & P4 - Honey Please, Can’t Ya See (1973)

“Honey please, can’t ya see you saved me?”

Since I am also a P1 x P4 shipper and since I’m talking about Barry White, it would be rude of me to leave these two out. At first, I struggled with picking a Barry White song that fits P1 and P4—I didn’t ship these two immediately at first and due to this, it’s always been a bit harder for me to write a dynamic between these two. However, after a bit of thinking, I finally managed to pick a song for these two. I picked “Honey Please, Can’t Ya See” for P1 and P4 because of the silly and heartfelt vibes these two represent. P1 is the more romantic of the two, and P4 is the flustered one with a secret stash of love letters he’ll never admit to writing (he has admitted to writing the love letters, P1 found out about them). “Honey Please, Can’t Ya See” is all about someone baring it—finally saying what they feel. The song gives a direct ask, from someone who needs to be noticed, to someone who’s already shining. I like to think that this song is P4 asking, not in a pushy way, but in a pleading way. P4 is reaching out towards P1’s warmth, trying to match that big energy in his own sweet, romantic, cute, and awkward way. And P1, for all of his boldness, does see him. There’s deep affection, and it’s silly, sweet, gorgeous, and adorable. I can a picture a routine for this song between the two of time: the two of them are just having the time of their lives and having a lot of fun, the vibes silly, sweet, heartfelt, passionate, and adorable. It’s sweet. It’s tender.

Again, You’re the First, the Last, My Everything is one of my favorite songs, routines, and coaches in the Just Dance franchise and I wanted to dedicate a post to them that shows how much they mean to me. I know I could probably be talking about way cooler JD4 coaches and Just Dance coaches in general but these four bring me a certain amount of happiness that I am unable to explain. I’ve always had this headcanon lingering in my mind that General Jae is short. Like, 5’5-5’7 short. However, I’ve never actually fully went with this headcanon of mine due to some conflicting thoughts of mine:

First off, I came up with this headcanon due to how short I think General Jae appears in my opinion:

Like in this image here, I can’t imagine General Jae being taller than 5’7 for some reason. I know he is mostly likely the same height as Bang Bang Bang P1 and P3 (matter of fact, you can argue that he looks taller here), but idk, I just imagine him as a short king for some reason. I’ve always see it as General Jae being short and P1 and P3 being his taller bodyguards lol

Looking at this image here, he still looks short to me. I know you can argue that he looks taller than Bang Bang Bang P1 and P3, but idk, something about his ego and vibes screams short king.

Exhibit D: (I’ve Had) The Time of My Life has a mashup. While only Forget You appears in the mashup and not Ring My Bell, I have a fun fact to prove why I ship these two:

As you can see here, only Forget You appears and not Ring My Bell. However…

Ring My Bell appears in the coach selection menu even though she is not actually in the mashup. This song is also a love song (4/4 for love songs YEAH!), so I like to think that Forget You is thinking about Ring My Bell while dancing to the song.
