A Brief Introduction to CNC Machine
Gone are the days of manually operating the tools. In the modern world where technology is ruling each and every aspect of life, computers are now used in manufacturing processes too. The use of the CNC machine coupled with the latest technologies is revolutionizing the manufacturing sector.
A CNC machine is used in the manufacturing of plastic and metal parts.
What is a CNC Machine?
A CNC machine or Computer Numerical Control machine is extensively used in manufacturing sector wherein the computers are used to control the operations of various machine tools. A unique software of the computer integrated with the control console controls the machine tools like lathes, routers, grinders, and mills. The tools are governed with the help of numerical controls. The instructions are fed into the microcomputer through an input device which looks like the traditional keyboard. The computer program is modified as per the requirement and the machines are then programmed with the help of CNC machining language, known as G-code. Feed rate, speed, location, and coordination are controlled using this machining language. The program is saved in the computer memory and can be edited easily as per the requirement.
CNC machines are also known as “soft-wired” NC.
How does the machine work?
The instructions are fed in the computer. All the details pertaining to the desired final product such as the final dimension and the cutting process that has to be carried out are provided. Using these instructions, the computer performs the cutting process.
The machine removes a part of metal to give it a rectangular, square, or round shape. The best CNC machines do this job with utmost precision. The machines do not demand manual operation from the operator. The operator is only bound to feed the instructions to the computer.
Once the final product is ready, the machine starts the same procedure for the next product.
How CNC machine benefits manufacturing sector?
Well, the excellent working process and efficiency of CNC machines itself answer this question. The efficiency of CNC machine has made it the need of the hour and hence, the majority of the manufacturing companies are investing in the best CNC machines available.
These machines are capable of working with maximum precision. This is benefiting the manufacturing companies by leaps and bounds.
In the time of cut-throat competition, every manufacturing unit seeks the best machinery and workforce to make them stand apart. CNC machines help the companies to enhance their production without the use of any extra workforce. This is the biggest USP of CNC machines.
It is important to understand the requirement and choose a CNC machine wisely. Click here to check out all the CNC machines offered by Marshall.
