I had a dream last night that Benson from regular show replaced Luna in Sailormoon. What I love about dreams is that you’re never interrupted with “This is stupid”. My brain just rolled with it.

Why I Love Nico Robin: She only sought knowledge & love and was persecuted for it. Her entire island was massacred in front of her by those who claim to be righteous for that pursuit. She had a higher bounty than Kaido at that age and was cursed to live on the run. Since she was a child, everyone she loved betrayed her for money. She saw herself as a mistake and her existance as an immoral act. Despite that, she kept pressing on. What else would she do? With no choice, she started working for lowly criminals who use her & treat her poorly. She only broke free by joining a pirate crew she was previously the enemy of. She was treated with love for who she is, not with fear or malice. She thought she was happy, finally. But it can't last forever, does it? What she thought was reality hit her. She was never going to escape, because she thought she is the problem. She was gonna be taken to an inescapable facility where she will be used at best, knowing anyone trying to rescue her will go down as well. Everywhere she went was raided. Anyone she knew was either defeated or dead. She just needed to make sure her new friends won't get hurt. She pretended to betray them, but they were too loyal to believe her words. They followed her and she knew they weren't safe anymore – because of her. She wanted to disappear because she just causes chaos. But when she saw her friends disagree, when she heard Franky say "Existing is not a sin", she opened herself up to the idea that she can wish to live, that she's not a "devil child", but a person with a passion. At first she put others first, but then admitted. "I want to live" she said. From there on out, she was her own person, someone she loves, and ceased to question her right to exist. She is not only selfless to a fault, but stayed that way after enduring the worst the world has to offer, simply for being who she is. And if that wasn't admirable enough, she overcame an internal struggle of self hatred. She is a beautifully written character with such humanity, intellect and kindness.

Also Why I Love Nico Robin: She makes dark jokes & freaks everyone out. She refused to help with an attack that could save everyone's life because it's embarrassing. She gets these cute thought bubbles with the dumbest concepts despite being the smartest person in any given room. She willingly entertains Luffy's nonsense. She predicted Brook's dead joke. She unpromptedly whipped dirt on Usopp's clothes. She treats Chopper like a royal puppy. And she does all of that while being the most stoic member of the crew. What an actual icon.

My favourite part of writing professional emails is sending them and immediately running over to my "sent" folder to check I did in fact write "Yeah, I can make a 3 PM meeting" and not "I think you're a big stupid piece of shit and I fucked your wife" somehow
