Stop calling the things Trump does "unprecedented" and start calling them what they are: illegal and/or immoral.

Hello, friends!
I reworked the ol' "Schweizer Guide to Spotting Tangents" lecture from my comics-teaching days, figured I'd share it here. If you want a free, printable PDF for yourself or to share (especially if you're an educator), you can find it at the bottom of this same lesson on my website.

Sources confirmed Tuesday that local man James McDermott, despite living on a doomed planet, was mostly concerned about the skin color of people in movies. According to sources, the 36-year-old software engineer, who is an occupant of a world with a devastated ecosystem, dwindling natural resources, and a climate growing more uninhabitable each and every day, spent the majority of his leisure time debating whether certain skin tones were realistic for fictional characters who inhabited fictional worlds on-screen in films and television shows, most of which he did not watch.

Slaves who escaped were breaking the law. Literally. Outright.
Jewish people who escaped the Nazis were breaking the law. Literally. Outright.
The law is a horrible judge of morality.

Sir David Suchet shares an amusing fan encounter story from the set of Agatha Christie’s Poirot in Hastings, East Sussex - BFI Q&A, November 12 2013
“‘Oh!’ she said, apparently satisfied, and set off on her away again, only to stop once again moments later. ‘Thank you for choosing Hastings,’ she said, with a gentle wave, and she set off up the street away from me. Even as I remember that day now, it brings a tear to my eye. It was so touching, and seemed to reflect exactly how much ordinary people really seemed to care about the little Belgian, even if he was entirely the product of Dame Agatha’s imagination.” - David Suchet, Poirot and Me

I'm back here now. Time to readjust where I spend my social media experience. I'd rather not line the pockets of malignant billionaires who want to fistfuck the rights of my friends and family. #personal #whatdidimiss?

The Outbursts of Everett True was a comic strip that ran in papers from 1905 to 1927, wherein the aforementioned Everett True regularly beat the everliving shit out of rude people as a warning to anyone else who might consider being rude. Men have not only been taking up too much room on public transport for about as long as public transport has existed, but the people around them have been irritated about it for at least a hundred years. The next time someone tries to claim that manspreading is a false phenomenon, please direct them to this strip so that Everett True can correct their misconceptions with an umbrella upside the head.
