It was uncommon for those who didn’t belong to the family in one way or another to be present at the estate, at least that was until his father had joined Suguru Geto’s cause. Now it seemed like his home, the only place he truly knew, had become a compound for whoever their new found leader saw fit. Akuma didn’t like it, not one bit. The small bit of control he had in running things as Choki Byōjakuna’s sole heir had been snatched away from his grasps for the time being. Without this control, he felt out of place, like his status as the only child Choki had that he approved of meant nothing. He had woken up angry and earlier than he wished, the constant noise that now plagued the main minka brought him endless frustration. Those of higher ranks among the religious group ( Akuma will argue that it’s a cult, because that’s what it truly felt like ), were allowed rooms in the main house, as long as they were men. He felt rushed as he threw on yukta, wearing deep shades of red and black to honor his mother ( he always told his father he rather wear these colors to hide blood stains which only gained him more favor ), since Suguru Geto’s arrival Akuma hasn’t be able to pace his days how he usually does.
With furrowed brows he wandered through out the property, only saying respectful good morning’s to those he had to. His mind coming up with ways to find a reason to leave the property for as long as he could. Suppose he could ask his father if he could go out and locate cursed spirits, any excuse Akuma came up with that he’d coat as a way to get stronger always got approved of. But something, no, someone, catches his eye. Kneeling by the pond was @mindsafe seeming unbothered by what was going on around her. They met briefly, simple introductions and that’s how she learned her name was Nanako. Dressed in what he’s been told is a gyaru style, heavily contrasting everyone else on the property who wore more traditional clothing. It bothered him, it was out of the ordinary for Akuma and he wasn’t one who really enjoyed change. He approached, barely leaning forward to get a good look at her face before speaking. ❝ Didn’t you get the kimono my mother had placed in your room? ❞ He asked, his voice not filled with curiosity but rather seeming insulted. He isn’t used to interacting with girls, especially ones his age. The only women he’d interact with were those he was related to, his mother, his sister, and several half sisters Choki fathered. ❝ Everyone else you arrived with are wearing the clothing that was gifted to them, as a guest you should be respecting our customs. ❞
Akuma doesn’t care that Nanako has decided to wear her own clothes, not at all. What bothers him is the fact that he watched his mother and Jigoku spend too much time trying to find a kimono that they thought suited Nanako’s style and personality to make sure she’d be comfortable. It’s the fact that their effort has been wasted on someone who seems ungrateful for the thought that went into it. It didn’t help that Jigoku had even altered it herself to ensure that it’d be a perfect fit.

Choki is the head of the Byōjakuna clan. A small and forgotten family in the sorcerer world. Their cursed technique that they were known for was actually stolen by a smaller clan centuries ago. Choki still resides in his childhood home in Kawagoe. The property itself is large, featuring one large minka house built in a gasshou style and a few smaller houses. While Shini is the only woman he’s publicly announced as his along with the twins she had with him, she’s not the only one. Believing it was his job to grow the Byōjakuna clan back to its former glory, he has collected several women to become concubines.
Shini is his favorite for two reasons, her cursed technique benefits him the most out of the other sorcerer women he has taken in, and that she’s the only one to provide him with sorcerer children. While Choki acknowledges Jigoku and knows her technique is useful, he prioritizes Akuma over all of his children and is conditioning him to be the next head of the Byōjakuna clan. Akuma resides in the main house with Choki while Jigoku lives in one of the smaller minka houses with Shini and her grandmother Kumo.
Neither of the children like their grandmother, yet they aren’t aware of what Kumo has put their mother through until they’re about fourteen.
Out of desperation to ensure that the Byōjakuna would continue to go down in history, Choki joins Suguru Geto’s cause, he also joined for financial reasons since Choki started running out of money.
At the age of fifteen, Jigoku finds out about the true extent of the relationship between Shini and Choki after accidentally eavesdropping on a conversation between her father and Kumo. Jigoku immediately informed Akuma of what was going on behind closed doors which lead to them confronting their mother about it.
After days of arguing about what to do about the situation, Shini, Akuma, and Jigoku plan a coup against Choki. Since Choki had been taken care of, Akuma briefly becomes the head of the Byōjakuna clan. He decided to make several changes to how things would be run and then passed the title of the family head to Shini. Akuma and Jigoku also stopped using the Byōjakuna family name and switched to using Takashi to honor their mother.

If I follow Shini’s general timeline for her tg stuff, she’d be about 32 ( she was born in 86 ) in her jjk verse and the twins would be about 14/15 ( they’d be born in 2003 ). I like the idea of the twins being old enough to be capable curse users because it puts more on the line with Choki in Shini’s mind because he’d most definitely have the twins go out and do shit for him that could potentially put their lives in danger as a way to keep Shini from wilding out on him. But also they’d be old enough to really understand what’s going on behind closed doors with Choki and would eventually gang up on him and just head out on that whole situation. Or I can change Shini’s birth year and push back when the twins were born so she’d be like 27 and the twins would be 10 and still be stuck in the Choki situation.
On that note, I like the idea of the twins having like a shared technique, two sides of the same coin situation. They can most definitely hold on their own but as a pair they’re way better. Pulling from Shini’s jorogumo tg stuff, I thought it’d be cool to give them like a “sewing” based technique ( spiders webs ). Jigoku would have the sewing/seaming half of it so she’d be able to make or merge things together, but the bigger the thing is the more cursed energy is used, but she already has to know how to make the thing step by step she’s weaving. Which also has potential for some reverse curse things where she could put people back together if they lose a limb or something she could make them something new ( also the thought of being able to bring people back to life with the help of Shini’s technique I’d just have to figure how to write that out so it sorta makes sense ). With Akuma he’d have the other half of it, so he’d be able to take apart things Jigoku has weaved together or other things, so unseam. Also just the thought of Akuma tugging on some skin around someone’s open wound like a loose thread and then starting to like unravel is kinda sick.
And with Choki, following his criminal background, I thought it’d be cool if his technique that he’d able to temporarily steal other people’s techniques since in his main verse one of his sources of income is selling stolen high value goods. But there’s an issue, like Shini who can’t use her technique to its full extent on people who are stronger than her, Choki can’t steal techniques of people who are stronger than him right. He can only steal techniques from people he has killed, ( playing into his tg origins ) he also consume a part of them for it and once it “passes” Choki csn no longer use that technique. Homie can really just kill someone and store their body in a deep freezer until he wants their technique.

note: while Jigoku and Akuma exist in every verse Shini has, this blog will be primarily Jujustu Kaisen based since it’s the only verse where they’re developed as teenagers instead of young children.
