Your little nephew has a biker phase. It's endearing. Especially since just seeing a bike makes his day. He loves the fast sport bikes, but also classic harleys. And sometimes he waves at the bikers and they wave back, or rev the engine, which make him the happiest.

So, of course, he thinks bikers hung the moon and probably are the answer to any problem.

Including the very serious case of his fave aunt not having a boyfriend - something he overheard when you and his mom were having a lighthearted, affectionately sassy conversation.

He's very serious and cute when approaching a group of bikers parked in front of a diner where you took him for milkshake and pancakes. You expect him to ask about their bikes, maybe ask if he could get a picture with one.

What you don't expect is the resolute:

Steve suggests getting some pancakes first. He is also very interested in getting to know you, can't help but check you out when you're in front of him.

At the mention of pancakes, your nephew is cheering and already halfway to the door before you can say, "Be careful!" and he is listing off what he'll order and what you like to eat. 🤭🤦‍♀️

Steve opens the door for you and as you're passing by, he whispers to you, "Don't worry, doll, I'll just have some coffee and pancakes and talk about bikes with your nephew. But if you want a ride, I'll have to take you out to dinner first."

Also, later, when you're dropping your nephew off, he'd immediately tell his mom, "Auntie's got a boyfriend!!! He's a biker!! ☺️"

hey friend sorry I know you probs don’t need to know but I need to SQUEAL and my friends are working right now hehehe you absolutely don’t need to reply to this 🫶🏽 BUT !!!!!!! I finally got my place confirmed in Calgary (as a starting point in Canada, don’t even ask, it’s been a long month of arguing with my parents), a beautiful mid century modern ONE BED apartment (I’ve never lived alone in a city before!!!) in the Mission neighbourhood, literally 2 mins from bars and restaurants and pubs and coffee shops and bookshops but still like five mins from the Elbow river for morning walks and I am so excited I just want to get out there literally stat. Currently staring out at the east London skyline (carpark outside my bedroom window) like why the F am I still here when I could be looking at the most beautiful sunsets 😭😭😭😭 I am so excited I could effing cry

Also had my last therapy session for a while today and celebrating signing the lease with a little drink (it’s 5pm here don’t judge hehehe) and just can’t believe this is my life! I also set some pretty big boundaries today with my parents, being firm but kind and respectful so wow what a day 😭🥸😎

It has just occurred to me that of all the characters in Winnie the Pooh, the only ones that lack both fingerless stuffing hands and faint seam lines (the indications that someone is a stuffed animal) are Rabbit and Owl. Which carries the possible implication that Rabbit and Owl are just a normal rabbit and owl living with a bunch of sentient stuffed animals.

And somehow this makes Rabbit’s constant consternation with all of his neighbors even funnier to me.
