Max Michaels is a board advisor to Versa Networks. Regarded as an expert in the field of SD-WAN, he leverages his knowledge of software defined networking to assist Versa, which is a leader in the SD-WAN space. Max Michaels has also invested in startups such as Arundo and Stride Funding. Max Michaels previously worked as the global head of IBM Network Services division. There, he shifted the business' focus to AI and implemented creative marketing strategies to drive its strategic transformation. Before this, he served as vice president of corporate strategy at AT&T, Inc., where he oversaw a team of strategy professionals responsible for market intelligence, scenario planning, and technologies such as 5G, Cyber Security, Edge Computing and Internet of Things. Mr. Michaels has also served in executive-level roles at Cisco Systems and Tyco Electronics. He has 25 years of financial oversight, strategy development, and venture capital experience, and was the recipient of the 2017 VMWare Global Innovation Award. He holds a master's degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and previously served on the international board of the MIT Alumni Association. Mr. Michaels was a keynote speaker at the 2018 Cognitive Computing Conference in Sweden.
