Talked to my therapist about tyler galpin again, and she said that he deserves to be rehabilitated after going through punishment (and tbh he's been punished enough). She said the huge cause factor of tyler's predicament is his neglect, which leads to him being abused.

Also, she said tyler is experiencing PTSD and how people, especially kids who have gone through extreme trauma, will latch onto familiar emotions because they're afraid of getting out of it, which is why a lot of victims end up becoming the perpetrator

And it makes sense why tyler ends up the way he is now. He's scared. He can't trust anyone anymore. He thinks his only role is to be the villain, the enemy. Because he's scared of who he'll be outside of that. Which is nothing, like wednesday said. He's just a nobody who no one cares about

I think people are saying tyler is going to be just a villain now but like the show repeatedly painted him as a victim/just a kid

Yeah he may be angry and full of rage but the juxtaposition of that with the amount of times they show tyler just being a kid

I think that the second episode is very, very important if you want to know where we are currently on Wednesday and Tyler's relationship.

and this exchange right here is what i was exactly thinking would happen; Wednesday is still bitter (and butthurt) with the last time they dealt (? not sure if that's the right word but forgive me i'm all out of sorts my head is bombarded with theories and shit) with each other, so its not very surprising this is how she reacts face-to-face with Tyler who outsmarted her witts, and it doesn't help that Tyler, rubbing salt to the wound by telling her she thinks she's the smartest person in the room, but she's not. and she does not like her intellectual capabilities critiqued. okay before i get side-tracked, we look at Tyler here, after Wednesday turned around, seemingly done with her "closure" business with him (are we sure its about that? somebody help me in this pls lol) we see Tyler calling out to her, saying;

"Say Hi to Enid for me. Tell her I'm going to kill her the next time I see her. Make her pay for sticking her snout in my business. I want her screams to haunt you for the rest of your life."

now look at his face and demeanor with the whole awesome delivery by Hunter Doohan, we can see that Tyler realizes that Wednesday no longer wants to talk to him, and he's looking for crumbs to, i think talk to her more? have a few more interactions with her? i mean just look at his expression, he looks like he's been abandoned, pleading like; please look at me, talk to me, don't just leave. (okay maybe that's too far-fetched but that's what i saw here) (its not impossible that Wednesday has become his master as well) and because Tyler knows all too well that the only person Wednesday Addams care about other than her family is none other than her she-wolf best friend, Enid.

so he taunts, and tries to attempt to stop her in her tracks by saying all that, and it works because she did, and even has a sick comeback, by replying back to him;

"You're right. I couldn't resist seeing you. Witnessing you chained and caged up makes my dark heart grin. Thornhill chose you to be her murderous marionette, not just because she saw some Hyde hibernating inside you, but because she saw the real you. An expendable nobody. A feeble minded schoolyard bully with nothing to offer the world except for subpar barista skills. Your fleeting moment of notoriety will fade quicker than your generic looks. Thinking of you rotting away in this cell in anonymous mediocrity, that...is the best revenge. I don't need to visit again. I already take up enough space in your twisted head."

and here, while it hurts to see that she's not past to what happened before, and fails to see what and who Tyler really is and what he's been through, its completely understandable and true to her character, but also, very disappointing, but if we look the other way, we can see that she wishes that he's not just bad because he's a Hyde, because Thornhill knew he's a Hyde and took advantage of him, we see her hoping that Tyler Galpin was also already bad, tell me if I'm wrong but she wishes Tyler had enjoyed the killing or else, why does she let him be locked up in Willowhill? a place normie people use to oppress the minority of outcasts who'd gone feral and insane? (in the further episodes, she finds out that her aunt Ophelia had also been a patient, or a prisoner rather in the same institution) and don't think i miss the parts she called his looks "generic" (um, you kissed that face young lady ??) "subpar barista skills" (and you loved the coffee he makes you ???) she is totally in denial and its understandable (i typed this whole sentence with gritted teeth lol)

i think besides from Tyler, who we assume that is the devil that she woe this episode, its also her ego that she struggles with. but that's something we already know and expected, its just nice to see it come alive and battle with her own self and of course the devil or Hyde she can't forgive, Tyler. It's self vs. self, plus her psychic ability that she can't seem to control, makes me think of what that music teacher Ms. Capri said, "let the chaos/music control you" or something along those lines. i think that Dr. Fairburn and Miss Capri will play a very crucial part in Wednesday's character development, and I hope that they are not bad adults pls, pls, pls, assuming Dr. Fairburn is not dead lol

so there we are in their current dynamic, Wednesday is holding grudges against Tyler (and the whole society lol) and Tyler is slowly spiraling out of control without a master, now that he has killed her (hopefully, stabbing her in the chest finally kills her right? or else i'd do it myself for the love of-) AND, the two of them together as of the moment is like pitting a tornado of uncontrolled, exhausting psychic visions, unresolved grandmother-mother-aunt-daughter drama, unresolved murder cases everywhere, potentially losing her best friend and a volcano, that has now Hyde out with blood and guts spilling and spewing everywhere. yeahhh so far, but there are still 4 remaining episodes that we can only hope will not butcher the entire season 2. sorry for all the additional violent reactions hope you didn't have a stroke if you made it this far

there would be more of this i think, why didn't they just released the whole season i could watch it in one go, still not satisfied with what's happened so far, we waited for 3 years for this, but yeah, bc we've waited that long, i mean what's another month am i right??? LOL

So you mean to tell me, Wednesday liberated Tyler’s mom (who he thought was dead), found Donovan’s killer, and then was called an angel by Francoise and I’m supposed to believe TYLER AND WEDNESDAY ARE NOT END GAME.

Also Wednesday was so gentle with her! That was the Wednesday that endeared me to her: the girl who can do monstrous things but has cracks where the gentleness seeps out of.

So now that the pedophile is dead my guess is Tyler is going to have a harder time remaining human. He's going to stay longer and longer in Hyde form until he's unable to transform back because he doesn't have that master bond anymore.

My Wyler heart never lost faith even with Tyler’s hateful attitude toward Wednesday because I suspected he was angry with her about locking him up and treating him like he was less than because he was Hyde.

Cause yeaa he was killing people but basically everyone in Wednesday’s family whom she loves has done that so it really shouldn’t have been so significant much less off putting for the girl who filled a swimming pool of teens with flesh eating piranhas.

He had a valid reason to be angry.

But after watching Season 2 pt1..

Tyler told Laurel it was her fault he was locked up.

When he saw Wednesday he accused her of multiple things but he never even mentioned that.

The only one lying to themselves is you. You sensed the Monster in me..you fell in love with it.

We’re two black hearts ready to pillage the world together..

and when Wednesday tried to deny it he immediately became angry.

You think you’re always the smartest one in the room but you’re not.

He then moves on to threatening Enid when he sees her walking away, just to get a reaction out of her. If you pay attention to him in that scene he looks terrified watching her leave.

And even his ending to his threat to Enid..

I want you to be haunted by her screams for the rest of your life.

None of his dialogue does he blame her for him being locked up. He blames Laurel for that. Hates her for it. Kills her for it.

Wednesday on the other hand..his dialogue and his interactions with her suggest something else.

He is angry with her, but not fully. When he sees Laurel he hulks out and grabs her almost immediately. With Wednesday he only gets upset when he feels she’s rejecting him. When she claims not to care..

He’s angry with her because he still loves her. And because she betrayed him.

He always saw her for exactly what she is and he loved her for it. But the minute she saw him for what he truly is she threw him away. She abandoned him. Rejected him. Betrayed him.

No doubt he’s been telling himself she would come back for him, that their feelings were real and they were strong enough that she wouldn’t be able to resist them forever.

And then she rejects him again. Tells him he’s delusional.

And even though he knows she’s lying, it makes him angrier and angrier.

Tyler is in love with her and his anger and even possible hatred (for now) for her stems from that.

And she still loves him too. Made clear by the tears in her eyes when she finally does leave him behind and the soft way she mentions him when she finds L.O.I.S. Even the way she doesn’t flinch when he finds her in the hallway.

She doesn’t even look angry in that scene. No hatred, no resentment. She looks at her stalker with more contempt than that.

She is calm, unafraid. She knows she has retribution coming. She knows she would do the same if she were him.

What Tyler has wrong is I don’t think she wanted him locked away because he was a Hyde. It was for two reasons.

1. Tyler was being controlled by Laurel who is a nutjob and therefore he couldn’t be trusted.

And 2. which she keeps secret because it’s personal and is the actual reason why she’s personally angry with him..

He made her feel like a fool.

Wednesday prides herself on knowing things others don’t. Literally seeing things others would miss. Putting things together.

Her draw to Tyler was unexplainable to her conscious mind, and she always knew that. She fought it in the beginning because of it. But in the end she couldn’t keep her heart from falling for him. And still she never figured it out.

Tyler bested her. Which would piss her off probably a decent bit under any circumstance but with Tyler being puppeted by Laurel, Wednesday more than likely assumes his feelings for her were never real. In her mind, she got played. Her first time falling for someone, only to realize she was being played for a fool.

She’s furious. Because she’s embarrassed and probably a little hurt.

Which is exactly why she sees what happened to him as revenge. Because it’s personal.

Tyler never did anything to her to warrant wanting revenge. But in her mind, it was all a lie. And her feelings were real. And she was hurt by that realization. So she felt wronged.

If she thought Tyler was a victim and had real feelings for her she would’ve tried to help him. But she doesn’t. She thinks he used her and tricked her and is still trying to play with her through her feelings so she wrote him off.

She abandoned him.

Their attempts at hurting each other, desire for revenge and tit for tat are faaar from a deal breaker. If anything it only further proves how perfect they are together.

Ideal situation in my opinion would be Wednesday becoming Tyler’s master and wielding him as a weapon. I can so see that working out for them.

Tyler getting to love, protect AND serve her while Wednesday gets to be with someone who understands her bloodlust. Who would never try to tame her chaos, who would accept her for exactly what she is. Who could keep her safe instead of the other way around like she does with every single other person in her life.

The Addams would most certainly take Tyler under their wing with open arms as well. Gomez would probably beam with pride that his little black widow found someone who would be so devoted to her as he is to her mother AND has bodies under his belt???

My IMMEDIATE Thoughts on Tyler Galpin in Part 1 of Season 2 of Wednesday

I'm just going to leave this here for now, because my thoughts are kind of everywhere..Like I think we can all agree that Part 1 of Season 2 wasn't exactly kind to Tyler and what he really has going on.

It portrayed him in truly a dark light.

He was volatile and angry..

And I don't think the show did a good enough job at explaining why. I mean as Tyler fans and Weyler fans..we know why.

It's Hyde.

But that really should've been emphasized more in this part 1, him not being in the first episode at all seemed like a mistake, because we could've even gotten an opening scene with him maybe talking to Fairburn in a therapy session, instead all we got were hearsay, where fairburn casually filled Wednesday in on how we was doing..

It felt like a shortcut, which makes me think and feel like they put too much on their plate this season.

There are TOO many storylines it's kind of hard to just focus completely in on one.

Like we unmasked TWO/THREE Villains so far..and like I'm struggling to figure out what any of them has to do with Part 2??

The Front Desk Lady at Willowhill (I already forgot her name)

and Agnes..who's just a stalker..

I guess the next villain would be Bianca's mom ex husband?

The leader of the cult who's on the run?

I'm just kind of confused because I thought the cult would be a bigger thing..Unless it's saved for part 2?

But where does Tyler's storyline fit into all this???

Donovan's death was FAR too rushed.

Like wow..I thought he would die..but I didn't think it would nearly be as quick and without ANY talk between Tyler and Donovan..

The show did however try to establish emotions through the photos Wednesday sees of Donvoan and Tyler at the cabin..

And one of the last things Donovan was looking at on the TV was childhood videos of Tyler on the TV.

But again..this feels like a shortcut to avoid having to fully delve into the Galpin's household storyline.

I was hoping the Enid situation would be solved in the first half of this season..but that doesn't look like that's the case..

So It's a shame that I don't think we'll be getting a deep dive into Tyler's full backstory until probably season 3.

I think they'll lay the groundwork of him being redeemed by the very end of the season..But with what I just saw..I think we're really gonna be in it for the long haul with Tyler..and Especially Weyler.

People have said that if donovan dies early, he will die thinking his son is going to be stuck in that cell alone all his life. But no one's ever thought that if he dies, tyler would think his father hated him for the rest of his life
