My current not-approved-by-the-government opinion is that im not anyone's parent and i should not be responsible for random teenagers online. If I post smth thats 'meant for adults' and its labled as such then what happens from there is literally not my problem. If a teen- who is fully capable of turning on self moderation settings on their own btw- doesn't use a site's provided self moderation settings and they see boobs or dicks then like literally whatever, its neither the end of the world or a big deal. It shouldn't fall on me or a website or a tech company to do a parent's job, and also frankly i don't think a parent should be breathing down their 16 year old's neck on the off chance they do actually want to look at tits, but thats a discussion that americans will fucking throw a fit at so maybe we'll discuss that another day in better company.
"But what about young children!!" see thats! where parents should be involved- that is to say, why are you letting your young child on the internet in the first place, you fucking idiot.
Edit that's not gonna be seen: i've muted this post, if you're arguing in the replies i do not see it nor do i care.

"I don't even go here" has to be one of my favorite tags to use on here.
Do you see it? Your art/writing is about a ship/media that I've never seen, and of which I know absolutely nothing and yet I am compelled and moved by the unique spin you put on it. You did such a fine work that I now want to know the source material. Perhaps you even did such a fine work that the source material doesn't hold a candle to the stuff you make.
I don't even go here. I appreciate you giving me a tour though. <3

I think Lodi's voice actor absolutely enjoying himself while streaming Destiny 2 is also helping too. It doesn't completely heal the void left behind by Lance but Brian's joy, curiosity, and desire to connect with the community has definitely filled that void even if just a little.
I hope you guys sense this as well, but I’ve noticed such a sense of joy and whimsy return to the Destiny fandom since Edge of Fate dropped! The memes being made, the gushing over Lodi, the fanart being lovingly crafted, the excitement over shipping returning, it’s all so wonderful to see! It makes me so happy to see people have fun with this new saga and I really appreciate everything being made right now!

Have a short Lodi ficlet I wrote today.
Warning for major Edge of Fate campaign spoilers.
————————————
"How much…of me is left? Anything? Nothing?" The emissary speaks to the open air, voice breaking slightly, but only silence answers back.
"If my life is predetermined, did I ever truly have a say in the choices I made?" Lodi lifts his gloved hand to eye level, flexing each finger before slowly curling them into a fist. "Maybe Orin was right…maybe I did sacrifice too much of myself, to a collective that has already taken the lion's share of my humanity."
He winces and moves to brace himself against the wall. There's a series of flashing images behind his eyes, memories of the moment before III's death. With it comes the emotions that were felt at the time. The fear, the pain, the sense of loneliness. It reminds him that regardless of the IX's power, they still feel, that they're living organisms.
That they can die the same as him.
The memories help give Lodi clarity. He's the only one who can help the guardian-weapon fulfill III's request. Prevent extinction. Bind the IX. Stop Maya Sundaresh. The technicalities of how exactly he'll accomplish any of that will just have to be worked out along the way.
This crisis is bigger than his distress over what it means to be human. Earth already suffered through one collapse without him. He won't let another calamity take away what's left of it. Not if there's something–anything that he can do.
His clenched hand relaxes and he carefully readjusts the black frames perched upon his nose. Lodi fills his lungs with a long breath before letting it go as a means to help re-center himself. His posture straightens and he holds his head a little higher. Then, when his thoughts and sense of self feels less chaotic, he steps out of his office in search of Ikora and the guardian-weapon.

"According to the Stanford Basic Income Lab, universal basic income is a periodic cash payment that is given to individuals unconditionally, requiring no work requirement or sanctions to access.
And as various nonprofits and cities across the country experiment with basic income programs, most have found that the money received is largely used to pay for the basic essentials many Americans struggle to afford.
A new pilot program in Boston, Massachusetts wants to find out if the same trend applies for a specific demographic: young adults facing homelessness.
The program is called BAY-CASH, or Boston Area Youth Cash Assistance for Stable Housing. Their plan is to offer a select group of 15 young adults ages 18 to 24 $1,200 per month for 24 months.
Each month, they will receive two $600 payments, and they will each have access to a one-time drawdown amount of $3,000, used to pay for things like a security deposit, a car repair, a medical expense, or other crisis.
“BAY-CASH is what we call a demonstration program,” the program’s director Matt Aronson told GBH, the local NPR affiliate.
Aronson has been working on developing a model for direct cash transfers to address young adult homelessness since 2017, when he also co-led the development of the City of Boston’s plan to prevent and end homelessness among young adults. Finally, his vision has reached a crucial next step.
“We’re trying to demonstrate to the state of Massachusetts that this kind of programming, a guaranteed-income program with supportive services, should be part of our toolkit that we use to prevent and end homelessness for young adults,” he continued to GBH.
Program participants will also receive two and a half years of supportive services, like a navigator who helps young people identify and access the resources they need, as well as financial coaching.
Aronson added that there is no penalty if a participant doesn’t use them, but they were built into the program based on the services young people asked for.
One of those young people is Deandre (who chose to omit his last name for privacy). Having grown up in Boston, he was out on his own, but after coming on hard times, he found himself involved in a few youth homelessness programs. That’s where he found out about BAY-CASH.
“I heard about … potentially getting cash payments to help with all the necessary things I have to go through on a regular basis,” he told GBH. “I was absolutely ecstatic.”
He told GBH that he plans to use the money to access food, clean clothes, and rent and housing expenses when he eventually has a place of his own again. He also hopes to one day save up to buy a car so he doesn’t have to rely on the city’s bus system.
The flexibility for him to choose how to spend the money is a key component to what Aronson believes is the magic of guaranteed income.
“Current homelessness resources for young adults in Massachusetts are scarce, can be slow to deploy and inflexible, and often lead to inequitable outcomes for historically and systemically oppressed populations,” BAY-CASH shares on its website.
“[We are] trusting that young people know their needs and communities better than anyone else.”
Aronson added that the pilot program will provide the state with more evidence to consider something “a little bit more flexible than what they’ve developed,” and ensure that a budget would be available to enact something similar in other regions of the state.
Right now, the pilot program is being funded by private donors and foundations, along with the city of Cambridge via a one-time cash infusion, and the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services.
The hope, Aronson said, is that this program proves its efficacy for the long haul.
“There’s some skepticism around and moralizing why folks are poor, why folks who are experiencing homelessness that causes us to suspect, ‘Oh, they must be wasting their money,’” Aronson said. “Over and over, the evidence is consistent that folks use these to meet their basic needs.”
For Deandre, who has dreams of someday becoming an architect, the program represents something greater.
“Just because we’re experiencing homelessness doesn’t mean it has to be a barrier for us to stop living our lives and that we can’t escape it,” he told GBH.
“With more programs such as BAY-CASH and with more people spreading awareness about the issues that are going on in our community … it’s all about making sure that the next person doesn’t have to experience what you’ve had to experience. It’s about doing what you can to eradicate homelessness, and I think that should be everyone’s ultimate goal.”"

dead fish out of the water; Lodi & Ben Yero fic;
you people asked for heavy angst, ye shall receive it :)
It has been a strange few weeks. His sense of time scrambled, his sense of self tarnished. Lodi clings to duty like a life ring, repeating the creed of his department.
Observe. Connect. Conceal.
His lips are numb from saying it over and over. But the words taste like dust and paper and chalk, and those are familiar.
He wears his nickname like a suit to work. Louis is left at home, and Lodi takes his place. It's easier this way. And he works diligently. He studies and observes. His mind analyzes all that he sees, from the alien scenery of Kepler to the Aionian society, soaking everything up like a sponge.
He still hopes to go through these memories at his desk at DEO, scratching away with his ink pen and getting smudges on his wrists. He would tell Nella as she would interrogate him about this strange time-space travel. She would have that fire in her eyes, infectious and shining bright. Tell me about the Aionians, Wisconsin, and hold nothing back.
That is, if anyone would let him see the light of day after this kind of business trip.
Hope withers and dies when Dr Nella Davis appears before him, looking different, wearing another name, just like himself, but no recognition in her eyes. No jokes, no acknowledgement but that of new coworkers. All over again.
And she doesn't come alone.
“Lodi, meet the Guardian.”
