I’ve been watching videos of you guys in the theaters dancing and prancing and recreating choreography, creating inside jokes, casting spells, getting engaged, and just generally creating the exact type of joyful chaos we’re known for 😇 One of my favorite things you’ve done was when you supported Cruel Summer SO much, I ended up starting The Eras Tour show with it. I came on Instagram yesterday and realized I hadn’t posted any lover content, so here was my lover release day outfit with my Je Suis Calme shirt, I am back on insta y’all! • Last year when Taylor was releasing lover I was in camp living my best life as a counselor. But I had a ME! hater in the mix, she said “I miss Taylor’s old music”, “her new music is trash and childish” and I think no one had said that to my face and I didn’t know how to deal with it cause I had only dealt with it online, I can’t believe I am saying this but I felt ashamed to be a Swiftie. This caused me to shut down every time a new Lover update would come out. I remember being excited and ready to watch and listen to YNTCD but that same person said, “it’s more childish and she is just using gay rights to gain more attention” and I just shut down again cause I was shocked someone would say that, even though I know Taylor would never do that. But because of this I didn’t listen or watch YNTCD till 2 weeks after it had released. I felt trapped and it felt like Taylor was no longer my escape. When the archer came out I listened to it and it’s entirety that night but in the other ear I could just hear that same person say “Taylor’s voice is washed out”, “the archer is a trash track 5” and “the archer is boring and not Taylor” and I didn’t fully enjoy the archer till LITERALLY a month ago. And I just didn’t have the music release that I was hoping for. I think after everything that was said and done I just felt like Taylor wasn’t my escape for a bit, but during album release and talking to my Swiftie friends I just kinda pushed myself back into Swiftie happiness. I remember I was happy to finally hear Taylor again with no unwarranted criticism after dealing with it for months. I listened to Lover with my parents in the car for the first time and cried cause Taylor was again my escape to find happiness. I am just thankful I have my friends that let me talk about taylor when ever I want and my parents that see how happy she makes me and we share the same happiness.
