An INTP who did her research
4K posts
Hello. My name is Sarah. 22 year old asexual Brit studying film and TV production. I'm just posting and reblogging a bunch of MBTI stuff. Happy to bust any INTP-related myths for you. Member of aMBTIon. INTP, 5w6, True Neutral, Melancholic, Slytherin and for those of you who are interested in zodiacs; Libra, Ox and Ivy. Note: I'm still learning about this stuff. That's why I made this blog. So please feel free to submit posts or send in confessions and things if there's anything you want to say.

Your response from earlier makes a lot of sense and definitely makes me think I’m more of  a Ti since I know for a fact I’m a type 6 enneagram. Would you mind discussing some of the ways being a type 6 might express itself among the various functional doms (i.e. a Ti or a Te ect.)
It kinda works the same for everyone, in that fear and self-doubt (if I cannot trust myself, I cannot trust you, therefore I must challenge, question, and analyze what you say, waffling between over-reliance and trust issues with you), but…
Ti/Fe: self-doubt, seeks consensus / outer opinion, will often poll people to find out what they think then do what they concluded anyway, tendency to play devil’s advocate and mess with people, but also more Fe development out of a desire to be ‘be liked.’ Anxiety / uncertainty tied to being liked / low Fe desires.
Fi/Te: pushes aside feelings more than other FPs, doubts, questions them; anxieties about firm decisions and factually-based outside logic, but can self-doubt and question things that are less tangible or able to be ‘proven’ by the outer world, lots of anxiety about relationships; warm, others-focused, cares about people’s feelings, doesn’t want to isolate or offend them.
Te/Fi: more likely to cope with anxieties using facts / adherence to logical structures and outside principles, can be over-sure to compensate for doubts, knows how exposing their ‘in flux’ self-doubts can hurt them in the workplace, so keeps it hidden / internal, lots of anxiety about low Fi concerns (self-expression, being able to get in touch with one’s feelings, one’s relationships with others).
FeTi: fears and over-focus revolve mostly around relationships and connections, lots of anxiety about making logical decisions on their own (due to low Ti), over-thinking and endless ruminating, depending on the aux-function (Se/Ne) either endless pursuit of alternative possibilities (Ne) or impulsive action followed by remorse (Se).
Ne/Si: tends to go to war with the optimism and idealism of Ne, creating a back and forth flux between 6 pessimism and Ne hatred of pessimism; lots of questioning, never finding true answers, endless rumination (unless the Ne uses a strong judging function), stinted ability to make and stick to a firm decision due to fear of making the wrong one (even after the decision is made, Ne continues generating various alternative choices and other potential outcomes). Lots and lots of anxiety related to low Si – awareness of one’s limitations in details, over-checking at work that relates to detailed information.
Si/Ne: finds comfort in sameness, routine, dislikes change or uncertainty, likes to plan things out in advance and know what is coming, not good with not knowing these things, some apprehensions about the future, may stick to what they know and/or are talented at rather than taking risks. Anxiety related to low Ne concerns – unable to sense who to trust or not, fears of being irrational or not-grounded, sometimes fear of pursuing their dreams.
Ni/Se: tends to doubt / mistrust one’s own perceptions and question them far more than other NJs, continues shifting perspectives to see it from various potential ways, can struggle to take risks or move out into the world (low Se), lots of apprehension related to Se concerns (being unable to react in the moment, see opportunities and take them, making a fool of themselves in public because of this, etc). Wants to take time / consider every possible outcome in making decisions and get the big picture before they proceed; much concern about ‘ruining my future.’
Se/Ni: struggle between wanting to experience the world and all its sensory richness and learn through ‘doing’ and self-doubt about competency, wanting to experience things in a ‘safe’ way, less reckless or impulsive than many of the other SPs, concern and security focused, anxieties center around low Ni (being suspicious of things that seem too ‘out there’ or unrealistic, denying anything that isn’t tangible, or going too far the other way and becoming suspicious, distrustful, and developing paranoid theories and/or conspiracy theories).
The different 6s will respond differently, of course, to external threats; the phobic 6 backs down and uses avoidance, is warmer and more eager to be liked, but also somewhat withdrawn (sp); the social 6 finds ‘certainty’ in something outside themselves (logic, faith, politics, a belief system) and thus seems ‘too sure’ (soc); the cp6 attacks what they fear (can be more ‘reckless’ especially in the SP types due to high Se intensity / fists-first problem solving); the sexual 6 often morphs into becoming a desirable person of their gender in order to attract others and be appealing to them (think Marilyn Monroe and her sexiness).

NTs as Languages
ENTJ: Classical Latin. Very formal, lots of rules, seems a bit cold, but full of warmth and life and wisdom if you care to look; academics aspire to it, but few completely realize it
ENTP: French. Full of heat and the vibrancy of life, and sometimes discredited because of that, but with amazing depth of thought and rule of logic just veiled; overrated for reasons it deems less important
INTJ: Russian. Often associated with evil tyrants, but actually quite beautiful; strong and structured, but by turns lyrical and almost mystical; many times overlooked
INTP: Old English. Lots of depth but is can seem like a mess, taking bits of information from here and there and cultivating them; either over or under appreciated

I don’t have a chart but I have sort of mental categories to break down and understand different feelings
I am glad that other people do this too
Things i’ve heard NTs say
“Anyone can have an opinion but not everyone is informed”
“There can be a reason but not all reasons are reasonable”
“There is no such thing as too much innovation. There is only inefficient innovation.”
“HOW DO I MAKE PEOPLE LIKE ME”
(when asked for help on someone’s situation) “I don’t think anything of it. I’m at an uninformed standpoint, so I’m incompetent”
“Can you like stop being upset at me now”
“Look! I made an emotion chart to help me identify what I’m feeling”
“Google is such a blessing. I don’t need a love life, I got Google Docs” (bonus: “if you have a Yahoo! mail – who ARE YOU EVEN??”)
“Take it easy – keep an open mind so you can optimize solutions, and keep an open heart so you can be driven to find those solutions.”
“Put smiley faces and say ‘good morning’ so that people will listen to you or else they’ll say you’re too harsh”
“Hey, I’m straightforward, okay? If you say ‘nah’, I’ll really take it as ‘nah’”

NTs Washing the Dishes
ENTP: sprays you with the sprayer. Repeatedly.
ENTJ: “CAN YOU NOT FCKING RINSE YOUR DISHES OFF YOU HEATHENS?!?”
INTJ: washes the dishes by hand and then puts them in the dishwasher
INTP: manages to get the entire kitchen and themselves wet washing one single mug

NTs in a Conversation
INTP: makes one complex remark and leaves
INTJ: has to explain INTP’s remark to everyone because only they got it
ENTP: HEY let’s talk about this, now this, now this. What’s your opinion? Why’s that? Here’s mine!
ENTJ: it’d be best to just go along with what they said. They don’t debate like ENTP; they’ll just destroy you
