Day 8 (Saturday)
Yeeeeey, the event went so successful, and I was one of the speaker and they enjoyed the most is the talent show part of the session. And I was a little pissed when the paper session didn’t went out on how it should be but it’s okay as long as they enjoyed and learned from our mini seminar for them it doesn’t matter. Our last day, feels somehow sad. We had it as our routine going there every weekend. HAaaaaaaay, but atleast we can visit them anytime without time in and out wahahaha

Below Sea Level
Today we ate breakfast together and played tamaang tao with the children again, it’s their fav. And then I was so shook, I just went to the sea. The dried sea it’s amazing how high tide it is when we arrived and how dried it is when we woke up in the morning and how high it is again when we left. This day we were not able to take a bath and we fetch water for the family and we played hide and seek. If you will notice we always play with the kids because we want to get their attention, trust and their participation to our talent show for them. We want to establish relationship with the so the jelling will not be a problem anymore. And we didn’t ate lunch because we were still full from the heavy breakfast. We went home together at approximately 1 pm.

Cholo My Dear
First night and first time to eat dinner with the adopted family. The barangay officials accommodated us very well. We played tamaang tao with the kids, I met cholo the guy kid with a heart of a girl and he told me he is good in dancing so I told him to bring a lot of friends in our first practice for the talent show. He said he will bring his friends and they will dance together as a group to our talent show. Cholo was a very enthusiastic and cheerful kid. I really love how he lets his hair flow, so cute. He said he is so excited I felt how he really want to have exposure lol. And I am really looking forward to see him dancing, a 13 year old kid who wants to make his parents proud. And this is also our first night sleeping in the community. We didn’t only get the chance to immerse with the community I might say this immersion made us closer and taught us things together. I and Wayne carried the gallon of water and it was tiring but very fulfilling though it is hard. And this night I bought Jerome a jelly cup and he wouldn’t even share to his sisters. I thought I will not but anything for him or give him anything unless h learns to share. And honestly I don’t really like how their eldest sister treats them, she is so unfair. Always uses being the eldest to take advantage of her siblings. But at the end of the day I hope and pray that they will grow up respecting Mama Gemma, because they are so lucky to have such an industrious mother, very hard working. This overnight taught us a lot of things, about the community, the family, the environment.

I should have titled this narrative report WALK WALK WALK WALK IN THE LIGHT due to excessive walking with unexplainable fun.Today we accompanied mama gemma selling her sampaguita it is not really that in demand in the actual church but it is sure to be sold out when it is brought to the houses of the people of the Philippines versus Leanne Marj….. joke ma’am. We went straight to the church and looked for mama gemma there, we sold maybe 0 sampaguitas at the church haha Im such a good vendor I sold nothing but when the mass was over we entered the miliksi 1,2 and 3 just to make sure that the sampaguita will be sold out. She started selling 100 before but guess what she is now selling 900 pieces and pesos worth of sampagita and today it was all sold out. And then when we are about to reach the home of mama gemma she said she will give supply to the other space so we divided our group into 2 the other group will buy food and we are going to follow mama gema until she sold all the sampaguita. And then I fried the luncheon meat and sauted the corned beef and it hurts to experience the TALSIK feels again and we ate together. MA’AM! This day is the most productive si far! SUPERB! WERPA! Words can’t express how tired I am BUT BUT BUT no words can express how happy and productive I feel I am! This day is a ver good head start for us and I know the best is yet to come! We almost finish a song rendition of our alma matter song but the only lyrics is SAMPAGUITA and despacito,Magdalena and many more but the only lyrics is SAMPAGUITA haha if you want I will sing for the class. Ma’am I’m so happy! Thankyou! And we watched Pocahontas TAGALOG VERSION OMG the songs was a bomb. That all for today superbbbb!

The Kids
Output #5
Today I’m late and left my index card at home but it didn’t stopped me from doing my duty with my groupmates. We bought food for them and played with them and we planned our action plan that da. We’ve decided to have a mini talent show for the kids, because there are so many kids in that community and this day we really established relationships with them, we played with them a lot and we thought that what if we conduct a talent show for them so that even when we will leave the community their confidence is still secured. And we have planned that we will teach them how to dance and sing and them we will have a mini recital. We are still planning about it but yeah this day was a tiring one. Running around the court, playing volleyball and etc. with the kids and really getting to know them. It is really fun though. I felt like I lost 10 pounds lol due to chasing those very aggressive kids! Hoping that they will participate to our action plan. That is al for today. Anyway I have never seen the barangay captain yet, now I’m wondering if does he even exist. Char.

Day 1 (Friday)
MY DEAR JEROME
The first day of our immersion was indeed tiring but indeed fulfilling. We have known the community more and we learned about their community’s problem and we knew them more. The first day, we did the profiling and interviewed the locals in separate ways but we have the same questions and got almost the same answers. We were able to collect a lot of information and was able to think of constructing our action plan and ask the locals if ever if the will participate and they said many of them will do if someone started the change. It was good knowing more about the community, the locals and the place itself. It comes out like we really do understand them because in a way we felt like we are in their shoes. We talked about many issues and problems in their community but behind all those they are still smiling and very hospitable and friendly people. I was with Uela we were able to interview kids, teens, and parents. The treasurer of the barangay and other locals. And I also braided the hair of one of the kids of our adopted family, Camille. And then we brought the children to school and we waited until they will be allowed to go inside because we arrived too early. We saw how the kids fix themselves before they go to school. We even ate nata de coco care of eddie, and that’s it so far. The highlight was bringing the kids to school and the community profiling.

Community
Barangay Salcedo II
Geographical Location:
Type of Community:
A.Large community
B.Urban community
C.Local community
D.Physical community
E.Ineterest community
Pesrpective:
A. Social Science perspective
In terms of social science perspective, they are united by their needs. They need a place to stay and found the place of barangay Salcedo and they all saw that the place will do even though they came there one by one and not together but they all saw the availability of the place and that is their common ground
B. Ecological Perspective
They are all doing their best to clean the environment even though it won’t work. They care about the place they are staying. The care about how it will affect their health especially the children there. And their norms and attitudes manifested in their goal, and that is to clean the environment.
C. Sectoral Pesrpective
They are not the kind of community that you will pit because of their situation. But they are the kind of community where in you will commend their fighting spirit in coping up with their everyday life. You’ll see the have even small businesses there. Ukay-Ukay stores and sari-sari stores, and toda outside the actual community but the still consider it as their part also
D.Civil Pesrpective
Though they are not that fortunate there are NGOs who are doing charity works in there, and some of them are from the community itself. According to some of them they are also fruit of charity works and outreach programs held for them so they are just returning the favor to the new generation.
INSTITUTIONAL
They have health centers and hospital very near them. They also have mall and the barangay hall and talipapa near them.AN Elementary school is also near them. Their 4Ps are in a good condition they get their benefits regularly and they get free medicines from the health centers and they also have some NGOs who are doing outreach programs to their community. They have sari-sari stores and they have permit and prices are checked by the barangay officials.
DEFINITION OF COMMUNITY
A community is an organized group of mixed group of people and who live in the same place and who cares for each other and who may have the same interest, practice, beliefs and can be also a large group of interacting people.

The community I am living at is I might say a very good and very worth the monthly dues one. It is near hospitals, convenience stores, salons, grocery stores and malls and etc. And most of all the people around my community are very understanding and respectful with each other though I know my community is never close to perfection but it is a good one to live in. I am very thankful to my parents that the let us live in a community like this. And it in fact has a school inside it and a café so I think my community is a good but never a perfect one.

Ideal Community
Perfectly Imperfect
A.Technological
Technological area of a community is quiet important, well for me my ideal community has free WiFi. It is a very big help for everyone in a community. Imagine going to a computer shop wouldn’t be necessary. Especially for students in the middle of the night who needs to do things.
B.Economical
Keeping the economy of a community rolling is such a thing that is dependent on the people in the community. Thus, example of a factor that affects that are businesses inside the community. Such us “talipapa”, sari-sari store and etc. And my ideal community has many stores but different products. So it keeps the economy of the community rolling but not having competition within the community.
C.Political
My ideal community has officials that doesn’t have the same surname. Not making the same old family benefit every term. My ideal community has no political dynasty. And politicains that are very honest.
D.Institutional
I want a community that has institutions that are not lacking of needs. Example, public schools in a community, lack of books, chairs, facilities, teachers and etc. I am certain that there are budgets for these and that will be fixed if the politicians will cooperate correctly and will do their job.
E.Aesthetic
My ideal community has some entertainment to activities to somehow make the people in the community entertained. Some kind of Zumba in the basletball courts for the “titas and titos of manila” and compter games tournaments for millennials and etc.
F.Beliefs
I am dreaming of a communit that even though they do not have the same religion or beliefs they should respect they are trying to understand and respect them. A community with different beliefs but no competition and costant arguments.

Out Reach Program Experience
“Special kids are the most SPECIAL”
Imus Pilot Elementary school is a school that accompanies special children. We chose this institution because we believe that we don’t need to go too far to really attend the needs of the need. Just look around and you’ll realize how close they are.
We conducted a simple but entertaining program. We just want to give rest to the children, we just want them to just enjoy for a day, show their talents and skills. We want a day that they will not be judged by appearance, but instead it is more like a appreciation day, everybody has ribbons and simple gifts. Storytelling, games, cupcakes and few giveaways for everybody.
I met one of them, let’s call him Brent. A very energetic and hyper child. Who always dances and shouts a lot, I call him Sir Pure Energy due to his unstoppable energetic attitude. He got angry with me when he saw me recording him while I am talking to him, he said “Ate wag mo nga ko videohan, makikita pa an ng ate ko eh nakaka hiya” and I am shook, but then again he said ”huy ate taga DELPA din ang ate ko ate makikita niya yan hindi na ko bata tama nayan nakikita ko nag vivideo ka eh stoooop” he said. Then I stopped recording because it is a no brainer to him that I am taking videos ofhim. And I asked him “kwentohan mo naman si ate ano trabaho papa mo? Sino kasama mo nag-aalaga sayo? Taga san ka?” and he answered me smoothly “Si papa tricycle driver, kasama ko si mama ayun lhs a labas” pointingout his lips to his mom “tapos wala work si mama ko inaalagaan nia ko taga baylum ville kame”. Then, that very moment I said to myself, maybe this kid is not really sick, maybe he is just too young to control and possess that energy that he is not able to control it. But anyways, he is still special.
We could deal with them but first we should be understanding, understand their needs and their condition and situation. And next is have long patience, usually, they are not aware of what they do. Lastly, have heart for this kids, love them like you own them.

MINOR SOCIAL WORK
Submitted to:
Ms. Lianne Rejeane Marjearon Eullo
Submitted by:

Abad, Mayumi Anne R.
Aficionado, Alyssa Bea

Verano, Hannah Miriam
BACKGROUND CASE
They are the persons we met at that day. A day full of happiness and delight in our hearts. The first one on the picture I a lady, she’s 38 years old. Working outside a fast food chain to help her family and to support herself with the medicines she need. The three boys below the lady was such a helper. They help a man to pick up some drinks in a soft drinks tamp. The two of them was 11 years old, while the other one is only 10 years old. The little girl standing is a 7 years old. She’s living in her aunt. Yes she is studying but it’s not easy for her to study and to go to school consecutively. At that moment, she doesn’t have any. Just the clothes she’s wearing since she don’t have slippers.
EXPERIENCES
After doing the said social work, our hearts are filled with happiness and joy. We realized that we’re still lucky to have what others doesn’t have. We’re luck and blessed to have the things we want while others are still aiming for it. And we’re also happy to help them on our special little way. And we’re also blessed to know their story, why they are doing those. And we’re glad talking to them, knowing what really matters in their heart. Because we think, people need someone to talk to. Even you’re rich or no. What more for those people whose struggling almost all of their life. And it’s also a therapy for them because somehow, we realize that yes, giving food can help them. But, talking to them and letting them feel that you’re there for them is the best thing aside from those snacks you’ll give.
Sometimes we’re complaining on what we have while others doesn’t have any. So we also ask to ourselves that how they can even survive that kind of lifestyle. And it’s also a relief that we helped people and it’s like a big achievement for us. And while we’re giving them the love we have thru giving, people are staring. Somehow, there’s a disappointment that instead of staring, why not help and lend their hands even on the simplest way.
At first, we admit that we’re doing it for the sake of our grades. But as time goes by, we’re loving what we are doing –spreading love to others thru the art of giving. We don’t think about the grades, but think about people surviving those kind of hardships and obstacles in life.
BEHAVIORS (ETHICAL/UNETHICAL; IF THERE’S A LICENSE SOCIAL WORKER)
So obviously, we did our minor social work on the road of Nueno in Imus so there is no any license or even just a social worker there.

Appreciation Letter
“Uy si mama kilig”
I have parents who are not that showy, not comfortable with saying “I love you” very often. Never hugs us, never kissed us that they are the one who initiated specially our mom, because my father I think is a little more able to show how he truly feel but my mom is too serious and busy for those kind of things. So as I have expected, my mom didn’t show too much emotion and just said “Thank you” while my dad said “give me a kiss” they have 2 different personalities and different ways of showing love. But even though mom is like that I know she still felt how much I love her. But my dad even said “your penmanship sucks you fat freak”.

Being a Social Worker
“The goal of social work is to save lives”
I encountered several problems but the most hard to handle that I dealt was first a teenager who was fresh from a break up with his former girlfriend. If you will look into it you’ll notice it’s just some kind of common non sense no use kind of problem, but this friend of mine even called me and all I can hear from the other line was him, crying like he was shattered and broken to pieces. At first I was certain that this problem was just you know, has nothing to do with your studies your life yourself but I can hear his pain with every sob that he releases. And right that very moment I gave him advice, first without the aim of having a screenshot for my activity because I forgot about that and then when I remembered there I took the opportunity of having a screenshot as well as having an activity.
And next is a son, a friend of mine having struggles of him being his father’s son. Something like that. He just want to say sorry to his dad but he can’t. So he thinks he is weak. And I gave him advice I never mentioned about the activity but mofcoursem not only because I need to have a screenshot but he is my friend. And I told him that he is the so so he must do them first move. Because I believe that if you see the problem you are prat of the solution.
