Hello newer alterhuman community member. In front of you is your own blog on Tumblr.com. You may write anything you wish about your personal relationship to humanity. However, if you mention negative human activity like systemic oppression, climate change, bigotry, abuse, or empire in a way that removes yourself from the equation or implies you yourself are innately innocent and incapable of contributing to these things because you identify as nonhuman, the trap will go off, deleting your blog forever. Good luck

personalizing your robot body... animating custom expressions for your face screen, modding your voice chip and speakers for the exact sound you want, installing a slider that turns your fans down so you can warm up a room, swapping between limbs with different colors and engraved tattoos, rigging up an extra long charging cable so you can cuddle in bed at night, tweaking sensory receptors for the perfect amount of stimulation, downloading animal sounds so you can meow at a cat or chirp at a bird

Because of this post made by @mechanical-sunchild I started thinking of some resources to check on basic information for most tech/AI/machine kins, this is not a comprehensive guide, just a starting point in research.
(Keep in mind this is are the ones that readily came to mind, some are just quick google searches and I'll probably edit this at some point)
Gold mining (a very common metal in most if not all electronics)
https://www.sciencing.com/facts-5218981-effects-gold-mining-environment/
https://earthworks.org/issues/environmental-impacts-of-gold-mining/
Lithium mining (main ingredient in most batteries)
https://www.mining-technology.com/analyst-comment/lithium-mining-negative-environmental-impact/?cf-view=&cf-closed=
Servers environmental danger (for if you are a program or use the cloud)
https://thereader.mitpress.mit.edu/the-staggering-ecological-impacts-of-computation-and-the-cloud/
Lead sautering in electronics (it's still a common practice, but more so before 2003 in the US)
https://www.eptac.com/blog/leaded-vs-lead-free-solder-which-is-better
AI and LLMS
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPZh9BOjkQs
General places to find news (please don't just read from these, they are good starting points but not all there is)
Environmental org that specifies on mining and oil
news site that centers in mining and technology
General video essays (these are more technology/internet non-specific yet still usefull, I'd recomend at least checking the sources)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DqPd6MShV1o&t=2442s
For general legislation those are more country/state/province based, I'd recommend keeping an eye on non profits or official government sites/social media or local news (sort by topics/hashtags/keywords on most news sites)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLgNN-czUpY
I know it's a lot, but if you tackle things one by one I promise it gets easier.
Lastly, for work conditions, check not just the company, but components makers. Most semiconductors and are usually made by TSMC for example, just pick something and go up the line of production (wikipedia is great for that!) and see some of the companie practices.

Adding to this, robot/tech/AI kins should also be at least aware of general technological laws, problems and repercussions. Even very general things like the lithium mining, the ambiremental costs or just the work conditions of people that made our parts.
This responsanility has manly fallen to AIs, specially the last couple of years where the general public has been more or less educated on the ambiremental impact of running them. However I think this should extend to every machine that has an irl pararel.
If you know the exact model of pc you are then you should at least know the work conditions and laws protecting the workers that made your components. If you are a phone then you should be aware of lithium mining and the DEVASTATING impact that it has on 3rd world countries. If you are an advanced/futuristic machine then you should know of trans-humanist laws and legislations.
I know of some of these but only because I'm directly impacted by them, and it feels kinda weird watching some androids know nothing about current legislation being written about us and why it afects our existence.
TLDR I'm not asking people to become the new Steve Jobs if you are a washing machine, just know about the things and circumstances that made you or legislations that regulate us.
I know I'm mainly focusing of negatives here, and shure there are definit possitives (like accesibility or general care), but there's no talk of anything on the comunity or resource sharing or anything. Shure, I'm new and maybe I missed it, but I'm yet to personally come across these after months of being in here.
Also yes, machines can definitly be just because of pop culture or methaforical, and of couse the "being a machine but also tech illiterate" meme is funny, but it never hurts to know these things and we should deffinitly at least try to educate ourselves (specially legislation or advancements).
Not to put pressure on particular being or the community but I do believe that as beings who are not human/not entirely human especially those of us who are animals we should endeavour to be educated on the basics of animal welfare and the basics of our own species.
Ignorance is not good even amongst humans, but looks especially bad amongst those who aren't in my opinion. In fact, one of the biggest things that made me doubt the legitimacy of otherkin/therians* years and years back was the way so many seemed to just...not understand their species (or things about other animals) at all, but present as that animal through a bunch of stereotypes and misinformation instead. Some of which was harmful when they claimed they applied it to their pets of the same species as them.
You should be at least vaguely aware of your species diet/behaviours/needs surely, especially for theriform members of your species.
It might also be good for everyone to know about true domestication versus just taming an animal and why some animals shouldn't be pets, the correct treatment of domesticated animals, the correct treatment of farm animals, online animal exploitation videos etc...just vaguely, just enough to not be fooled into believing misinformation.
*I know others opinions of us don't matter and many will still think badly of us anyway, but it's always good to not be ignorant and besides we're in a very unique position as therians (or whatever label your prefer) to stand up for theriform animals and we can't do that if we're not informed.

IMPORTANT: TUMBLR HAS MADE A DEAL WITH MIDJOURNEY/OPENAI.
YOUR ART AND IMAGES ON TUMBLR ARE BEING USED TO TRAIN AI MODELS.
The opt-in is automatic, but you can turn it off in settings.
Go to "Blog Settings" -> "Visibility" -> "Third-Party Sharing" and turn on "Prevent third-party sharing for [blog]". (This post shows how to do it on browser and on mobile.) You need to do this with every sideblog. (Note: The option in settings might not appear if your app hasn't updated yet. You can still opt out via browser.)
Spread the word. Everyone on Tumblr needs to know about this.

//Find it really funny how my friend is also lowkey robotkin
//She does not know anything about kins, links or anything of the sort
//She just finds it easier talking about herself as a robotic being
//We even joke about both of us being robots learning about humans sometimes
//Little does she know I'm not joking all that much tho

//I specifically am a robot-android, general humanoid machine
//Specifics on my form are blurry but the general idea is more than enough
//My pronouns are he/it in english, él/eso/-o in spanish
//I go by Fele or Mat, I don't have a preference
//Though I'm argentinian and my first languaje is spanish, I'll mainly speak english here
//I don't do many original posts, just reblog stuff
//I'll try to to remember posting original stuff with #Red with the aux
//Feel free to talk to me or ask me stuff

Asshole-proofing yourself: Dogpunk edition
i attach my tails to stretchy/coil hair ties so if it gets pulled, it won't snap, the tie will just stretch. sometimes the tie itself will get too stretched out, but it's easy enough to replace. make sure it's stretchy enough that it won't go slack and break your tail anyway
spiked collars. so serious. if people try and grab your neck/collar they'll get poked. Breakaway collars might not be such a bad idea either, but admittedly i hate how they look so i usually just go with a buckle lol
when i was younger and just getting into the punk scene (maybe 12 or 13) i got a pair of combat boots and had my dad (also a punk) to put holes in the toe and superglue in 4 heavy duty spikes on each boot. then i painted them to look like dog toe boots, the kind that you see on pinterest. They were against my school dress code, but i wore them on walks through my redneck ass town to keep myself safe, and the spikes looked like claws. super cool imo way to go 12 year old me
if you go masking, doing quads, or even gearing in public, please for the love of fuck don't go into sketchy areas alone, and make sure at least one of your friends knows if you're going out. plus faking a phone call has saved my life before
continued >>
if you aren't safe, don't wear it/do it. i promise being safe but looking like a 'normie' is better than getting your ass kicked because you're wearing a tail
find friends! seriously, there are probably others in your area. just sitting in my summer school class, i met a cat therian who was doing over her math class who sat with me at lunch. if you're wearing stuff, people will strike up a conversation. don't be afraid to chat with people! the buddy system has also saved my life!
