Not playing The Sims for almost two years means getting to explore a bunch of new beautiful worlds 🌺

This is the first of three gifts I'm releasing to celebrate 3000 followers! Holy cow, guys! 😱 I recently found myself in need of a front-facing fanny pack accessory. The closest I found was this full body outfit by @casteru (aka @woosteru), so I decided to see if I could make it an accessory, and then I... spiraled. I learned some new things along the way, and it's not perfect, but it's cute!

Fanny pack fun for the whole family!

Hat category, since the texture conflicts. I know, I know, dad cap + fanny pack is an iconic duo, but I sacrificed it for quality.

35 swatches! 12 from the original outfit and an assortment of additional colors and funky patterns!

Looks best with form-fitting but not skin-tight tops. There will be a noticeable gap with something skin-tight, but it will clip with anything overly bulky.

Thanks to @woosteru's generous TOU for allowing me to do this. You can edit, recolor, include the mesh, etc. Just do not paywall! (There's a PSD with the original outfit that makes recoloring easier!)

Requirements You will need: Sims 4 Studio Photoshop (however you choose to acquire it), or an alternative DDS Plugin (unless you choose to save files as PNGs) Blender (any version between 2.76 and 4.3 - I use 3.3) The Basics

Recolours and Textures

The easiest thing to start with is a recolour. If you have some knowledge of photo editing software, this should be fairly straightforward, but if you’re new to it, the following tutorial covers it well: Recolouring Tutorial - Softpine

If you’re feeling confident with your recolours, but want to add a little extra to your textures, it’s worth checking out specular and normal files.

Speculars are my favourite thing for elevating CC (by that I mean covering it in glitter and sequins). This tutorial covers the basics:

Normal maps (bumpmaps) are a little different. They can give a 3d texture to an item without altering the mesh (within reason). Teanmoon also has a tutorial on that:

If you’re feeling extra (I know I often do), you can use emission maps to make your item glow and/or flash/twinkle.

Meshing

Meshing is a little more complicated (or perhaps not, depending on what your strengths are. I recommend starting with the Blender Donut Tutorial (pick the one that matches your Blender version) to familiarise yourself with Blender. I didn’t do this. I went in raw from using Milkshape for over a decade (don’t start me on Milkshape lol) I would have learned faster if I did…

Once you’ve navigated the majestic plate of donuts, you might be ready for a touch of frankenmeshing! This tutorial covers the basics really well, as well as a touch of texturing:

So you’re feeling confident and want to mesh from scratch! There are 3980193890381 CC creators and a limited pool of meshes to frankenmesh, so you may want to create something new. Trust me, start with earrings and work your way down from there.

Looking for residents for Happy Home Hills! 🏡

Open call for sims and/or sim families to move into a hippy community Happy Home Hills in Ravenwood's Whispering Glen! This isn't as much as a community challenge as Take a Hike was, but to simply look for neighbors for certain sims I will be playing on this lot. I won't yet say too much who those people are, but let it be known that the bee🐝 save is involved…. 👀

🏵️What are we looking for?🏵️

Families or singles of 1-8 sims, of all ages and genders and whatnot! No occults but pets are definitely welcome as part of the family.

The whole family should have at least 1 outfit for each category, and they can have as much skills and preferences and jobs as you just want to give them! The richer the backstory, the better!

cc is allowed: maxis mix, no alpha hair, no cc traits or aspirations (other than from the mods mentioned below⬇️)

I use Wicked Whims, Lumpinou’s Relationship & Pregnancy Overhaul Collection and Basemental drugs, so sims can have traits and other features based on them. (Such as wicked attributes, thoughts on kids etc.) Sliders and presets are fine! I have my own defaults so please don’t include any override cc though!

And what comes to dlc packs i own almost every one, excluding Sweet slumber party, Business chic and Sweet allure kits so try avoid using those.

No deadline atm, I'll close the submissions if need be. I'm going to add the families into my savefile as I get them for a natural gameplay. Maximum capacity for families is around 12 so there's room for all! I plan to renovate rest of the Whispering Glen's lots accordingly so there's a lot of flexibility.

Tommy Moscatelli at Del Sol Valley Studios, performing his hit song "My Plumbob darling" during the 1968's New Years Broadcast.

Tommy was a huge teenage heartthrob during the late '60s. His hip-shaking dance moves made him a global, controversial pop sensation that even managed to get the L.A.I.A. (Llamas Against Immorality Association) to try and ban him from appearing on national television.

He can be seen wearing @surely-sims's Strangers in the Night Set during this performance.

Here's a lovely 1916 double shotgun 2-family home in New Orleans, LA. It has 6bds, 2ba, 1,902sqft, and is $330k, which is pretty amazing for NOLA. I googled the street and they say it's a safe neighborhood.

This is the unit on the left side. How cute- love the fireplace. You don't usually see original double shotguns anymore, most people knock down the walls and convert them to single family homes.

Wow, that's original. If NOLA is getting sketchy in some areas, why do they keep these big old windows?

Each side has 3 bds., which is pretty big for a shotgun home. This is a considerably large room and it also has a great original fireplace.

Oh, I love that piano! They aren't using this middle room as a bedroom, but it's actually Bd. #2. Love the patina on that door.

And, this is Bd. #3. It's also large for a house like this. They really did a great reno b/c they left a lot of original elements, like the floors, doors, wainscoting and fireplaces.

Now, this is a vintage kitchen. Look at the sink. I've rarely seen one of these houses w/o a gutted modern kitchen.

Look at this vintage yellow stove. Amazing.

A laundry room is always great to have.

And, this is the cute vintage bath. The tub and sink must be original. What a great reno.

Now, we're in the right side unit. It's also got original fireplaces and pocket doors.

Of course, it has the same floor plan and I still can't get over how large these rooms are. Usually this style home has smaller bedrooms.

The middle bedroom is like a guest room with a daybed. Or, it's just a place to relax, lounge, and read or nap.

The 3rd bedroom has double doors to the backyard.

And, look at this vintage kitchen. Love that sink. It's so refreshing to see a nearly-authentic kitchen. I think I would do a few improvements, but not too much.

This unit also has a laundry room.

And, a wonderful vintage bath with original sink and tub.

Good sized shared fenced-in yard with a patio.

The lot is  3,301.85sqft, and that empty lot next to it is also available for sale if the new owner wants to buy it.
