I stumbled upon this ship the other day whilst scrolling thru the Detroit Become Human fandom lol and I was a little surprised actually if only bc usually Gavin is shipped with Nines from what I’ve seen but I haven’t ever read those ones tbh. But anyway I got curious so I read a few different Gavin/Connor fics and I found such a cute oneeeeeee. I hate that I immediately want to find another that has the exact same vibes bc there’s just no way I’ll find one like it. Like despite the unrealistic timeline of their love story it was weirdly believable like I totally felt that they loved each other whilst reading it which is when u know it’s a good fic like ugh! They were so sweet with each other and Gavin was such a multifaceted character it was so interesting to see and the way Connor just absolutely loved every single side to him despite Gavin being a very strong character in every way was very cute also. The plot line was also so tense actually I was dying whilst reading it like I just wanted everything to work out for them so badddd. And lowkey bring back describing character’s involuntary responses to things like blushing for example it just adds smth so honest to their interactions fr. I think that’s another part of their relationship I really liked, they were just so straight up with each other nothing was really hidden once it was time to reveal it and the pure acceptance they had towards each other was so beautifulllllll. Also what does it say about me that after coming back from a night out this is what I’m thinking about lol

I need more Harrymort fics with them getting a truce marriage bc I’ve just had the realisation that I love them a lot they always seem to have the best sub tropes in there I swear. Plus the relationship dynamic is so sweet like they’re both super reserved and keep to themselves bc I mean it’s an arranged marriage it’s not like they’re in love yet and they’re tryna keep the peace but they’re also undeniably attracted to each other which Harry is real obvious about meanwhile Voldemort is just so poised and formal but like is so overwhelmingly polite it’s like kinda hot?? Idek how to explain that lol. Like imagine stoic, polite, gentlemanly, super in control of himself, Voldemort just tryna show affection to his HUSBAND and he’s just like given him a ring or smth or a cute ass snake ahhhhhhhjj don’t even!

Did anyone else read that one Sirius/Voldemort fanfic by metalomagnetic? Cuz it was amazing. I loved itttt and it’s not even finished yet which means there’s more to come woooo! I love me a rare pair so this was very fun and it was very plot heavy also which was intriguing bc of Sirius’ characterisation. I’ve never read a fic where he’s leaning into the Black family so much and is embracing his darker side (which ofc Voldemort encourages lol). Granted I don’t read many Sirius heavy fics at all so this was interesting! Obviously I loved the romance part too thought it was super sweet and like so dramatic which is always fun lol. Voldemort was still his regular evil self except for his little soft spot for Sirius which was adorable iclll. Bro was caring for him so wellll ahhhhh. I was dying when it got angsty as well like this fanfic has me by the throat lol. I can’t wait for the next updateeee

I’m forever mad about the state of romance books. It’s ridiculous how bad they are ab 98% of the time, 100% of the time if it’s a straight romance cuz somehow those only ever manage to fall into stereotypes and traditional roles and even when the author tries to go against the grain the characters only ever end up being unlikeable as hell. As for gay romances there’s the occasional good one and it’s amazing and great and then you realise you can’t find another like it because for some reason people don’t really write those! On the other hand there are the fanfics, my one true love if you will, that are literally so good and have amazing romances in them. Like I feel like I understand what falling in love feels like when I read them sort of good and it’s so unfair that I can’t seem to find many books like that. I’d love to come up with a reason for why that is but I’m never really sure why that would be. I feel like you could blame it on several different things but none of the ones I can think of can fully or realistically take the blame for it regardless. I don’t even think I’m particularly picky with it either I just want a likeable character and an intriguing dynamic or plot. Maybe ultimately I’ve just been spoiled by the top tier quality that are fanfics but I hate to think I’m letting some really good romance books slip under my radar somehow just cuz I stop looking or smth. I think about this every time I read a good romance book btw bc every time without fail once I finish it I try to find another good one either similar to it or just good in general and well there are no more somehow

This is coming from another oblivious to romance individual but I cannot stand when I’m reading a fanfic or smth and the character will jump thru hoops to convince themselves their love interest doesn’t like them back and it’s even worse when they have commitment issues themselves so it’s like constant excuses for why they shouldn’t date this person who is literally perfect for them and would treat them so good like broooooo! It infuriates me seriously. I’ll just be calmly reading my little story and this dumbass refuses to just fall in love already! I love a good slow burn but there are limits of what I can take when a character is being ridiculous

Fantastic idea I need itttt

To all tomarry fic writers, can y’all make a story where harry and tom are married, but when the story starts, tom got into a magical accident (maybe someone attacked him idk?), and he lost his memories, but healers are like urm its just a side effect it will come back eventually. And tom and harry goes home, and tom is kinda inlove with his husband, but then he starts to realize their married life sucks cuz its just an arranged marriage, like they sleep in separate bedroom and his husband is lowkey scared of him but still takes care of him so he’s determined to make his husband fall in love with him, and harry is just confused cuz tom whose aloof and cold just started being nice to him???? And harry is like aight it’s just a side effect I’m not gonna fall for it. Also like can we make it that harry’s parents (yes, they’re alive) made the arrangement and Harry kinda just thinks Tom was in it for the money or like the connection or something ( like he charmed Harry’s parents or smthing ) and harry who kinda already had a crush on him since Hogwarts but was never notice cuz he was like a 3rd year or smthing and tom was a dashing popular senior, agreed. And towards the end it can all be revealed that Tom already loves him this whole time (cliche) and like idk?? I just want that angst with good happy ending. I want amnesia tom being flirty, charismatic and so out of character from his usual self to make harry fall for him.

I know I don't shut up about this but frankly not enough people are angry about the 5-day/40 hour workweek (and I am AWARE a lot of people work even more than that). I feel like a lot more people should be absolutely furious that we only really have two days a week and some occasional hours in the evening to socialise, run errands, do chores, or relax.

It's no wonder so many people are profoundly lonely and disconnected from their communities when maintaining a social life in what little free time we have is incredibly difficult. If you have kids, a second job, a very long commute, or other responsibilities, it's nearly impossible.

We literally aren't meant to live like this and I'll never stop being shocked how many people just take it as the natural state of things and don't want to throw a brick through a billionaire's window every time they think of it.

Tomarrymort Completed Must Reads 

⭐ you speak of the devil (like he's not your friend) by @amuria (M, 137k, complete)

Harry finds a Horcrux the summer before his sixth year. A deal is struck. (Or, when Harry wakes a seventeen-year-old Tom Riddle from the Gaunt's Ring, it is to a world where his future self has achieved none of their goals except one. Harry is proof that he's a great wizard after all.)

Why you should read it: This is a snappy, fast-paced, and super fun longfic featuring Harry and one of the horcruxes (the Ring horcrux in this case) teaming up to hunt down the other horcruxes. Harry’s snark had me laughing out loud in literally every chapter, and I love fics featuring Tom in Harry’s time. I can definitely see this fic becoming one of the classics of the ship.

Tom Riddle moves to a new building. Harry Potter is his new neighbour. That's it, that's the story. Or: Modern!Au where Tom moves to a new apartment building where he more or less gets himself a boyfriend and a family. Oh, and there's also a cat. OR: A stray cat gets adopted by an entire building. Chaos ensues.

Why you should read it: Humorous modern AU with adorable slice-of-life scenes between Harry and Tom and their adopted cat.

Hogwarts Valley— a cozy life-sim where players rebuild a magical village, befriend quirky townsfolk, and maybe even find true love. You’ve just started getting into the game, and like all hyper fixations, it’s taken you to tumblr dot com—but what’s this? A post catches your eye; you don’t remember a “forest beast” in your play-through… but now that they mention it, one of your favorite characters, Harry Potter, has been acting a little odd. Maybe you can figure out why?

Why you should read it: This is one of the most creative pieces of meta I’ve ever seen in the Tomarry ship. It’s less a traditional fic, per se, and more a social media commentary/collage, comprised of creatively formatted posts about a Hogwarts-meets-Stardew-Valley style game, with a Harrymort love story at its center 🤍 If you’ve ever played Stardew Valley or dreamed about romancing a farmer like Harry, you need to run to read this!
