I was looking over some of the screenshots from episode 8 ‘Morty’s Mind Blowers’ and I noticed that in every memory that was removed, ends up having Rick showing some sort of love and care towards Morty

Rick is willing to put his life on the line for Morty 

The reason Rick hasn’t let Morty die in any episode so far, is because he’s irrationally attached to his Morty

Rick has the voucher for a new replacement Morty, so even if Morty did die he could get a instant replacement. But Rick hasn’t let Morty get harmed once by anything other from his own wrong doings. He can willingly get a new Morty but he hasn’t.

Morty has gotten in between Rick and his work, He has pissed Rick off numerous times, and Morty has made mistakes, yet Rick still deals with Morty’s wrong doings. Rick removed the memories he caused because he doesn’t want Morty to view him as a bad person, Rick doesn’t want to lose his Morty, and this season has proved that, from Rick getting drunk because Morty didn’t consider Rick his hero.

Yes Rick can be a asshole towards Morty
