Nobunaga: Strict on when it’s study time and when it’s play time, pouts when his child can climb higher in the trees than he can, “how should I know who stole your candy?” (it was him), tells the kids war stories as bed time stories

Mitsuhide: Kids has proper manners before they can even crawl, his kid has a kitten companion, low key spoiled bc Mitsuhide always slips the kid treats, his kid definitely gets enough praise

Yukimura: “what do you mean I can’t train a 1 y/o?”, Snuggles, sees absolutely no problem with the kid sleeping with him and mc EVERY night, mc has to flat out tell him “maybe let the kid sleep on their own so we can bang”, after he realizes the kid sleeps where they bang it’s forbidden

Saizo: kid is born with sarcasm, comes out the womb and does an eyeroll, tries to keep his child a secret from the ninja but c’mon they’re ninja, secretly a protective papa, “just name it dango”, saizo NO

Masamune: legit always smiling softly at his child even when they’re not looking, always brings back little gifts from wherever he goes, even if it’s just a flower, if his child has his eyes he would be the opposite of his own mother and actually love and cherish them

Kojuro: would wear one of those harnesses so he can keep the baby on his chest while working, that one video where the dad is looking for his baby in the messy room and goes “oh fuq there it is”, “smoking is bad for you” as he smokes himself, would absolutely love it if his child could have a relationship with Masamune’s (and Shigezane’s) child like he does

Hideyoshi: definitely has cute nicknames for his kid like little bunny, or little monkey, modern au dresses his kid up like a banana for Halloween, slyly hands his kid treats, ruffles their hair like 24/7, also piggyback rides

Toshiie: sees MC in all his kid’s features and actions, does that throwing the kid in the air and catching them typical dad routine, constantly carries his kid on his shoulders, tiny kid looks dwarfed in his arms, teaches the kid how to spar regardless of gender, becomes the most doting and concerned father when his child falls sick

Ieyasu: definition of tough love, if he’s left alone long enough you might catch him stroking the infant’s hair, has his child learn an instrument or two, “that way you won’t be bothering me”, jokes on him because his child always wants to perform for him, jokes actually on his child because Ieyasu demands his child perform for him nightly ”so I can see if you’ve improved”, really he just loves seeing a part of him doing something so pure and excelling in life

Mitsunari: parenting books suddenly become of use to him, he reads them all, has a set schedule for his child, personally oversees the education and training of his child, “manju child”, “yes, but I’m your manju child, father”, he is shooketh when his child outsmarts him

Kenshin: definitely names his child after a flower, constantly spends time with his child outside teaching them the names of the fish and plants, Ai babysits them a lot and they get super close, always gets his child a present not when he goes away or anything just always makes an excuse to go to town (and avoid Kanetsugu) so he can get his precious child a gift

Shingen: papa bear, with a mean roar, has a temper when his child is stubborn (I wonder where they get it from), immediately feels bad, when his kid is old enough he explains the rough relationship he had with his father and how he doesn’t want that with his child, carries kid on his shoulders, definitely wants more than one like immediately, hires little sasuke to become his child’s ninja

Shigezane: omg so many smiles, all of Omori cries of joy, his child naturally inherits his smile, the most spoiled child out of all of them, mainly because all of Omori is as in love with them as their father is, taiyaki everyday for his little sunshine, sneaks his kid out of tutoring lessons for an impulsive horse ride to Oshu, much to Kojuro’s (and his child’s teacher’s) dismay

Kageie: is proud as heck, “look what I made you weaklings, bet you can’t do half as good”, proud father, especially when they kick their first person’s ass, carries his kid on his hip, ruffles their hair, would learn how to braid if their kid wanted their hair braided, takes his kid on outings to the town or various other areas

Yoshichi: omg im gonna cry thinking about my pure boy being a father, definitely takes a lot of pointers from his big brother, super doting, freaks out when they fall and get a brush burn, until he realizes him freaking out makes his child freak out, perfect at making his kid smile when they’re crying, 

Keiji: two cuddle bugs, absolutely loves it when his kid covers him in kisses, his kid is overly affectionate (imagine that), gets his child an animal companion when they’re born, honestly when they grow up his child will probably be asexual, maybe even aromantic too

Nobuyuki: absolutely overjoyed at being a father, proud about every little thing his child does, if he’s away he has MC write him daily letters about their wellbeing and updates on his child, is also pretty stern because he is the lord of the clan and his child would be next in line, gives his child so much praise not just in words but also in rare items he finds while traveling

Yasumasa: when he heard his child’s first cry it really hit him hard, like “wow this shit is really happening”, is super conflicted for the first yearish of his kid’s life because he really actually loves this little being but he’s supposed to be a feared warlord, it takes one day when his toddling one and a half year old brings him lunch and his heart just falls apart and he takes them under his arm and cuddles for a good hour

Amazement from the West

“Milord,” Hidetaka said with a formal tone. He knelt before his lord, the renowned Light of Honor Akechi Mitsuhide, while holding up in reverence an ornately adorned box. It was of the richest wood gilded with gold. Neatly polished it was to the smallest crevice. A shine rose off of the luxurious thing, giving it an ethereal glow.

For sure, Hidetaka thought with wonder, the contents of this box must be even more expensive than the container itself!

“As requested by Lord Oda Nobunaga, the luxury of the west, milord.”

He slowly lifted the lid of the rich box and it seemed as if a light shone from the depths. Or rather he thought there was, considering the light gleaming off Lord Akechi’s eyes at the sight of the treasure.

He could have sworn he heard celestial maidens’ voices singing from the heavens once the box opened.

What could it be?

What could it be?! He cried out mentally in curious frustration.

“Ah yes, the purity of this is absolutely breath-taking,” Lord Akechi said with a smile on his face.

It was amazing.

It was tea leaves.

Do not underestimate her, milord.

I know. You laugh. I did too, once.

Who is she, anyway? She isn't beautiful, not by conventional means. She is taller than our women, stockier than most. She does not look like a fighter and no, she isn't. Her hands are too smooth, too soft to bear hard-earned ridges of the samurai. She is a woman of noble blood and of old gold that too, is true. But in the recent years, her family has fallen into hard times. She is an only child. No brothers, no uncles, no father to reassure the family name. Just a sickly mother she tries to hide. She must be ashamed of her, that poor woman. With the situation in the North and the general unrest, it is highly likely her household will soon starve. Give or take a few monsoons. Soon she will have to sell her servants and her lands, one by one until all that's left is her mother and herself. She will be forced to marry to sustain her mother and herself, that is if she's even lucky to find a husband eager to be her match.

But who would wed her? What do they have to gain in return? A beauty she is not, and a family name long past their prime is all she has. Perhaps, you say, she could be a docile wife. Perhaps, a woman to warm their bed. A mother to healthy, well-fed and well-raised children.

But they cannot tame her. They cannot control her tongue, her body, her mind. No man ever did, and I reckon, no man ever will.

That's where her sword lies. It's in her eyes that do not belong here. It's in her lips, too small to whisper tales of pleasure in red districts, too large to craft a haunting song. It's in the way she carries herself.  When she speaks, the winds halt their tumultuous assault. When she smiles, the flowers blossom, eager to please her face, and when she walks the earth, the grass bends in submission. Milord, she pierces even the most barbaric of men with an unexpected turn and a well-placed smile.

It's absurd. You do not believe me. I can see it in your disbelief, the way you hold your saddle as if in you're in a hurry. You do not believe all of this. Who is she? She is nothing. She is no one.

That's what I thought so too.

But I was wrong. I was wrong, and I paid the bitter price. Instead of her household, under her benevolent grace, I am here, tending to old grass and forgotten cattle.

You see, I made the mistake of listening to all those stories they told of her in the mountains and the village. I made the mistake of believing them before meeting her. When she brought me tea, I drained it mockingly. When she asked for my counsel, I scoffed and told her to look not into the matters of men and leave it to someone else. When she asked for her trust, I sheathed my sword but the moment I was alone, I spat on her ground and buried my honor with it. When I was captured, all tied up, bruised and broken, she didn't demand an explanation for my betrayal, nor even asked where the gold and the years went. She only asked why. I looked her in the eye and told her she was nothing.

I know why you're here milord. You want to meet the man they say knows her best. I knew her once, that's true. I was once her betrothed.

Do not underestimate her, milord. That's all I can say. Do not underestimate Katsumi Hitomu.

Now go. Leave. You will learn nothing more from me. Do what I tell you, and you will not fail.

Mitsuhide’s MBTI Analysis P2

In honor of the cat battle event made just for Mitsuhide, I’ve decided to do his next. Feel free to send in requests, though my response time heavily varies. Once again for the warnings: It is long! Strengths and weaknesses taken from 16personalities.

Strengths: Supportive, reliable and patient, imaginative and observant, enthusiastic, loyal and hardworking, good practical skills

Weaknesses: Humble and shy, take things too personally, repress their feelings, overload themselves, reluctant to change, too altruistic

Romancing an ISFJ Mitsuhide

Mitsuhide is about as traditional of an ISFJ as they will come (coincidentally enough, ISFJs known to be the most “traditional” of lovers as well). This is a double edged sword. For one, it means consistency and stability. ISFJs are all about the long-term relationships. Short-term is just NOT their thing (in fact, they quite despise it), and once they’ve set their mind on the relationship, they only see far into the future and nothing near. For the other, though, it means being with someone who’s very much against change, especially in regards to moral lines they draw for themselves. You lose the adaptability found in lords such as Hideyoshi and Saizo, but you gain the stability instead.

ISFJs are also VERY sensitive souls. They often take things way too personally and that constantly shows up in clashes between Nobunaga and Mitsuhide. As steadfast and loyal as Mitsuhide is, these two men have very different forms of communication. There was one ES where Nobunaga, in a fit of impatience, kicked Mitsuhide out of his room. How did Mitsuhide take it? Not that it was an overreaction, but rather that Nobunaga simply didn’t want his services anymore and literally left the castle (much to Nobunaga’s dismay and exasperation). He took that far more personally and more seriously than it should’ve been taken with someone as fickle and changing as Nobunaga is (who has quite the mouth as well).

This extends heavily into romantic relationships. People with Nobunaga or Ieyasu’s sense of humor will NEVER sit well with Mitsuhide or ISFJs as a whole, especially when it’s something as intimate as lovers. They will be careful, kind, and considerate to their counterparts, so ISFJs also expect that to be reciprocated just as much. 

Along with the heightened sensitivities, ISFJs also have a huge tendency to overload themselves with EVERYTHING - family, politics, work, friends, etc. The list goes on. They might be introverts, but that doesn’t mean they’re not social. And when the work gets too high, their other weakness of repressing their feelings kick in as well along with the disadvantage of overanalyzing and overthinking every detail. It is a vicious cycle that the partner must be capable of seeing and breaking. MC was able to see it in that wedding ES, where I saw MANY girls on Tumblr quite upset about. Remember how he just abruptly called the wedding off, said that they shouldn’t talk and meet anymore, and just marched off? That’s a direct combination of his weaknesses piling on top of each other. Despite wavering at first, MC was able to stand her ground and break that cycle by pointing out to him how ridiculous he was being, and how over-the-line he has crossed in his morality of standing to his duties. 

For the girls who crave the flexibility and unpredictability of other men, Mitsuhide is their worst nightmare. At the same time, girls who desire the stability and normality of a safe home, Mitsuhide is their haven. He is 200% loyal, steadfast, and will always be capable of keeping the home afloat. Whether through his jobs, his hardworking tendencies, or whether just through tender gestures, nothing matters more to ISFJs than “home” does, and they will literally protect it with everything in their lives. He will never be wishy washy, and he has very clean moral lines drawn. This man will never try to tempt to bend the lines between what’s right and wrong when it comes to his own actions because in his mind it is WRONG, and he will not step over it.

He’s also the quite handy man to keep around. For accounting purposes (trust me, your money will never run out). For house purposes (he’ll literally memorize the castle design). For housewarming purposes (tea master. He loves his tea and his ceremonies). At the end of the day, Mitsuhide is a warm and dedicated husband and wants nothing more than to take care of his lover and to make her as happy and comfortable as possible, even if it means him sacrificing something along the way.

Mitsuhide’s preferences: ISFJ

So surprise, surprise, Mitshide’s MC is probably the same as him and here’s why. Alone time is incredibly important to the MC, which makes her an I. Also, seeing how traditional Mitsuhide is, MC must be as well, which makes her a J (I also suspect P girls would get quite bored of him honestly…or use him for his skills XD). Finally, I think she’s an SF herself because she can be quite similar to Mitsuhide…which is also why she can catch on things quicker as well.

Mitsuhide/MC

He looks at me as if I hold his heart; as if he would burn the world if I asked and he would do so lovingly. Tenderly. The way he hides his laugh beneath my hair.

Sometimes, I don't understand. I look at the grinning sun, and the broken grounds, and the polished floors, and groaning doors and wonder, How did I end up here? Silence answers. I try to remember the crooked paths, and narrow rivers that led me to this - to him instead. I try to picture myself back then - in the first few days we met. Back then, I was young, and naive, and so full of myself. Back then, I wore red.

Did I know I would be here? No. There was no way of knowing. I couldn't even tell if the sun would rise tomorrow morning, or if the clouds would mourn again. But here I am. I shouldn't be afraid. It's been months since I wore his colors next to mine. Years since I took his hand and made his name my own.

Mitsuhide.

I have nothing to fear. I am his. I know this. I know him.

But in moments like this, I am terrified.

I tell him this. I am terrified, my love. I tell him everything.

"Why?"

I don't know how to make you feel alright.

"It won't be long," he assures - or tries to. I know him more. I know his eyes. They hold the sea, and today, it isn't still. Today, they try to swallow him whole.

"Strong, and selfless." He replies, and for every phrase, he brings my hand to his lips. "Hardworking, and kind." A tender brush. "Loyal and sincere." A gentle hold. "Mine."

Even when he lets go of my hand, I could still feel his warmth. I feel my cheeks burn but I shake the fire away. There are more pressing matters.

You can tell me. I hold his hand. They shake. You're not alone. You can tell me everything. You often protect me from others. For once, let me protect you from yourself.

" I know, love. I know." His voice; it is soft and tender. The gentle breeze. The way I make the onigiri he loves. "But it's hard, sometimes, when all your life you think you are."

Okay. I sigh, but the breath set free is one of trust. Okay. I say, and the sound that comes out is one of love. Whenever you're ready. I see his eyes linger everywhere.

Do you want to be alone?

I make a move to stand up but I feel warmth embrace my wrist.

"Stay." he says.

Alright. I fold my legs on the ground. He moves, and turns to lie down, his back on the floor, his head on my lap, his breath underneath my own. I hide a kiss beneath his hair.

He looks at me as if he knows. I realize, he too, holds my heart. He shares my smile.

I have nothing to fear.

SECRET INFO He uses respectful language with everybody regardless of their social status, but he uses baby talk with his beloved cats. He is diligent about everything and keeps both work and home in perfect order, but he has a complex over being too serious and boring. He has dozens of practice workbooks about jokes hidden in his closet, but his hard work doesn’t seem to be paying off.

ILLUSTRATOR COMMENT He was previously a side character, but somehow, when he was upgraded to a main character, I just swapped the parting of his fringe to the opposite side, and voila! Perfection lol. I’m careful to always give him a diligent expression on his face, so that his personality shines through.

Someone asked me why I’m making a special post for flaws, instead of strengths/abilities/powers/skills or just how awesome the SLBP characters are in general. Why? Because flaws do exist. Lords Reactions to MC Training to Become a Samurai

Nobunaga:

Acts really unimpressed but is super proud

To the unaware, the word "ginagong" is an adjective derived from the insult "gago" which means stupid but has the severity of the word "fuck." Usually referred to men;gaga is for women. Colloquially it's used to refer to perverts and "chick boys" (ie. men who sleep around and has many women.) So more accurately when someone is doing something "ginago" what they're doing is "fucking stupid."
