I forgot to say. My brother's main complaint was that Rohan acted too normal

I saw the Rohan movie today with my brother. I went in with rather low expectations (I'll admit I haven't seen much of the TV show and it was a while ago now so I'm not as in the loop as should've been) and tbh the movie exceeded them by a good margin. It still definitely has that direct to TV quality on and off but the overall presentation as well as the effects were nice. It had some genuinely interesting shots and the score was honestly really good. A bit too much hand camera and fish eye lens and a few too many Dutch angle shots and lowkey I felt sea sick getting out of my seat once it was over but man I did really enjoy it overall. It was shot almost entirely in Venice and while you could tell they hadn't been able to film at any of the iconic landmarks or been able to shoot any big panning shots or crowd shots or anything like that, it kinda served the movie's claustrophobic feel. I was also really happy to see the shots inside Scoula Grande di San Rocco which was my favorite place that I visited in Venice last time, the interior is absolutely stunning. The use of pieces from Rigoletto also pleased me greatly... The juxtaposition of Izumi at the opera crying during the final scenes of the opera while Rohan is running around the dark and narrow little alleys was probably my favorite part of the film lmao.
I also have to say that the Japanese actors all speak good Italian (from what I could hear lmao) and the Italian actors they hired mesh really well with the jp cast. In fact I was surprised how much Italian is in this movie, all of the heavy exposition parts are in Japanese but the casual conversations are almost 50/50. As for the portions of the story written originally for the film, I liked them. There's a bit of a cheesy intro that could've been a bit more creative I guess and some of the writing was a bit heavy handed but tbh it overall felt like a pretty natural continuation of the og plot even if I feel like the ending could've had a slightly different tone. Honestly the choice to explore the life of the cursed man's adult daughter was pretty genius.
Also enjoyed the one little part 5 reference we got lmao

WHY IS HE SO EXPENSIVE...

I saw them today and I can't stop thinking about them. I played the claw game and I had Giorno in the claw but he fell out. Realized it was a scam and stuck to the promise I'd just made to my brother of not spending any more money. But man. I am thinking about them....
