Yuuri didn’t see Yuki’s latest messages until some time later, when his self-imposed exile inside his room, wallowing in misery, was interrupted by an unexpected snowstorm. Both literally and metaphorically.

And boy, did he have things to tell to his cousin.

HE SHOWED UP HERE OUT OF THE BLUE!!!!!

It took Yuuri a few minutes to calm down. He still couldn’t believe it was really happening. Victor Nikiforov was there to coach him!!!!

Yuki was already home, making his homework when he received his cousins latest message. Reading it, he felt like Yuuri was shouting in his general direction. He blinked with his eyes, his lips forming an ‘O’ after absorbing the latest information.

>Maybe he did see you skating his free and decided to coach you?

Yuuri must be happy, Yuki figured. The teen knew how much his cousin looked up to the Russian. But then something else crossed his mind.

>But, does that mean he’ll retire from skating competitions?

>If so, you really must have done something special!

He really should stop reading so much shoujo manga...

Shackled down || Open Starter

Fourth place?! He ended up right next to the podium?! He couldn’t believe it. He just couldn’t believe it. He trained so hard every day and it still wasn’t good enough? It had been years since the last time he ended up next to the podium. Yuki just wasn’t used to it anymore.

Staring at the screen in utter shock, he kept looking at his own name that was placed fourth. His coach was telling him something, but Yuki didn’t listen. Yuri, his cousin and Victor were the top three skaters and he just couldn’t make it. It felt like his world was ending. He could already imagine what people would say.

Eventually, the young skater turned his back; heading to a deserted part of the ice rink. He ignored his coach calling out to him. Finding himself all alone in a dark hallway, Yuki slid down the grey wall, burying his hands in his hair. Slowly, sobs started to escape his lips, followed by tears.

This was so frustrating!!

Yuki was absolutely ecstatic when Yuuri took him to the ice rink. It had been quite the ordeal as well. When Yuuri wanted to leave for the rink, four year old Yuki was making quite the fuss; screaming and tears included. If it wasn’t for his aunt suggesting Yuuri should take Yuki along with him, the child would probably have cried himself to sleep right now.

And so Yuki took his first steps on the ice, holding onto Yuuri’s hand tightly. He wasn’t scared to fall at all as his cousin led him on the ice. He trusted Yuuri after all. Also at that age, Yuki didn’t know what fear was.

The child laughed as he literally walked on the ice instead of gliding like his cousin did. There were times he nearly buckled over, but that didn’t stop Yuki from going on and keeping on smiling all the time.

“Hehe~ Yuuri-nii, will Yuki be able to skate just like you?”

“It’s alright, Yuki-kun, Niichan won’t let you fall” Yuuri told his younger cousin softly, squeezing his small hand back when the four-year-old gripped onto it, half to keep his balance and half in fear of falling on the ice.

“I’ll hold your hand until you feel ready to go alone, alright?” Yuuri smiled as he led his cousin on the ice, hands still clasped tight.

-{Yuuri definitely is someone Yuki would tell about what’s bothering him. Probably not right away but he will tell Yuuri if he were to coax him like that. There are several things that bother Yuki and doesn’t tell anyone so it’ll take a load of his mind if he were able to talk about it with someone. Especially if that person is Yuuri!}-

could you like or reblog this if you’re okay with late replies to roleplay threads / asks / etc.?

by late, it means anywhere between 1 day to 1 year. because i know some people prefer writing and replying on the spot, but i’m also sure lots of peeps struggle with that for various reasons, and threads get dropped because their partner has long lost interest or something, which can be very discouraging. so i hope we can all be understanding here!
