“It’s me Mari-chan.. You don’t need to test anything!” You was shocked to see the upperclassman running towards her in the city, but Mari still acted the same. This city was so large she’s found out from her time here, it’s understandable to maybe never find someone that you’re looking for. 

Still, has Mari been here for a long time or did she just appear here? You knew that Ruby was here as well though they weren’t close at all to forming all of Aqours. It’s probably better that way actually.. 

“Have you seen anyone else from our school?”

    It was amusing to see You get startled so easily, hence the little giggle following her action. You’s question caught her a bit off-guard, truthfully-- They were both thrown into the same situation and yet, the first question she asks is about the other members of Aqours. She sure was a caring one.

    “It’s a joke.~ I wasn’t going to do anything strange. Trust me!” A wink followed her words before adding, “Hmm, let me think.. Ah, no! You’re the only one I’ve seen so far. I wonder if it’s just the two of us here. Scary, no?”

    As amusing as it was roaming around, Mari was getting exhausted. She gripped tightly onto a small piece of paper with her apartment number and let out a dramatic sigh. “J-1.. Just where is this?” She wasn’t even sure where she was now. She hardly wanted was to end up sleeping on some bench in a park. That wouldn’t do for someone like her. She needed a bed! Besides, she was also getting hungry.

    Although Mari wasn’t an idol enthusiast as much as Dia or Ruby, she had picked up information from all their talk about them. The wonderful feeling of being a school idol surely was something she’d never forget. Still, it was sad to know she wasn’t with them right now. Did they think she left again? The thought made her sad but it was hardly out of the picture.

    As the other idol walked in front of her, Mari just had to say something. At the very least, maybe she could get a souvenir of sorts to show her friends later on. That would be impressive-- Perhaps they’d be envious over her incredible encounter. “You’re from μ's, right? What a lucky break! I didn’t imagine running into you here of all places.”

    Even if Mari liked to act independently, that didn’t mean she didn’t know when to get help from others. After all, she had only been in this city for the shortest time-- She didn’t even know where to sleep. It just wouldn’t do to rest outside, especially when her own family owned a luxurious hotel chain. Well, she supposed her wealth wouldn’t do her much good here.

    She approached the nearest person and mustered up a smile: “Ciao! Are you familiar with this city by chance? Hmm.. Maybe you’re new, too?” Either way, it wasn’t bad talking to someone else. What harm could be done? There wasn’t much else for her to do, anyways.

    As distressed as she was, finding her apartment seemed to be a top priority. This city was nowhere near as quiet as their school-- On the plus side, it looked like it would never get boring. The countryside had its own perks, but being surrounded by lots of people was always adventurous. Mari looked up and down trying to find her apartment, only to notice a familiar face among the mass amounts of people.

    It was a relief, in truth. Mari didn’t want Ruby to see her looking so distressed, hence her decision to put on a small smile and skipped her way towards her fellow idol. “Oh.~ I’m surprised to see you here! I’m a little concerned, though.. Have you been taking care of yourself? Well, don’t worry anymore! Mari is here to help.”

    Mari would be lying if she said she wasn’t confused and lost. As she walked amidst the streets with nowhere to go, she couldn’t help but reminisce back to her departure from her childhood friends years ago. Yes, the similarity resonated within her mind. Letting her fingers interlace, she could only hope there was some kind of sign to lead her anywhere.

    Sometimes, all one needed was faith. She could recognize that school uniform anywhere-- You Watanabe. She was always fun to be around, but Mari didn’t want to greet her in a boring manner. With a smirk, she ran up to her underclassman and pinched her cheeks: “You-chan, am I dreaming? You’re really there, right? Or.. If you won’t answer, how else should I test to see if you’re real?~”
