As much as I love Shadow beating the shit out of Tails as the next person, I gotta say them having a gun-based relationship would be great:

Post-Battle

Shadow: Say, Miles, how much for a gun like yours?

Tails: You like it? You can keep it, I’ll just make another one.

Shadow:…you just made that?

Tails: Yeah, it’s mostly out of old Badnick stuff, Sonic just brings them home after battle, and recycling is great for the environment. But here take it.

Shadow: No, I can’t just take it. What do you want for it?

Tails: Um…I don’t really need anything right now?

Shadow: Money?

Tails: I sell some stuff online, so we’re good on it. Really just take it.

Shadow: No, you must want something. Anything. Something no one can get you.

Tails: I mean…a nuclear reactor would be really cool but-

Shadow chaos controlled out of there before Tails could finish his sentence. Tails went home, thinking that Shadow was going to take a while with his little task or just show up empty handed.

That afternoon, Tails was working on the Tornado when he heard a knock on his door. There stood Shadow with a nuclear reactor.

And that was the first time they made an exchange. Shadow would get Tails stuff from the GUN reserves, while Tails would customs make Shadow weapons or fix Omega.
