my lil sis is on a Dragon Quest spree and my ma was asking me about the series this morning. when i told her it's from the 80's, and it never really caught on here back in the day, she was like, "I'm not surprised, I mean, we had Zelda." and while Zelda obv didn't actually hurt Dragon's Quest popularity over here, I just thought it was kind of neat that she came to that conclusion. she's not like, super big into games, so.

been going down the haruhi suzumiya rabbit hole once again bc my lil sis stumbled upon it. particularly i'm finally reading the light novels which has had me thinking abt the series.

canonically accurate mikuru prob just looks like christina ricci

kyoani honestly did a killer job adapting the novels. not only are they ridiculously faithful but the things they did add feel so natural to the world.

itsuki owns. I would Smoke A Good One with that guy. i didn't really care for him when i first watched the anime 15yrs ago tbh but now that i'm older I think I might relate to him the most.

endless eight is good and I will defend it to my grave. it taught me to have patience with art. to respect artist intent. as well as the lesson that, a piece of media shouldn't have to be immediately gratifying to have merit. genuinely, I could go on, but. we're going to be watching it in a few days and I am honestly excited.

haruhi got me into anime altogether, and since 2008 I've found and fallen in love with many other shows which are just as good, probably better. but I will always love this series and hold it near and dear to my heart.

I've been playing Bananza and honestly this game just slaps so hard. It's kind of wild how much fun it is. I honestly thought it was going to be a little overwhelming, with the multitude of things DK can do, but... it just works. I honestly never thought we'd get a sequel to Jungle Beat, but here we are.

Replaying Super Mario Sunshine for Reasons, and I just reached Pinna Park. I totally forgot Bowser Jr. genuinely believes Mario is some creep who kidnapped his mom. He's a kid, so obviously if Bowser is feeding him baloney, it's all the context he's going to have. Poor kid genuinely thinks he's the good guy in all of this. He even goes on to explain how he tried to get Mario imprisoned at first through impersonation, which is... convoluted, but kids come up with some wacky shit. So it's silly, but I think it works! And yeah, he's terrorizing the poor island, though I can see him being naive enough to not understand the ramifications of all the paint he's throwing around.

Also, I'm assuming this kid has little supervision, since he managed to meet E. Gadd at some point. Which is not a great look on Bowser, though thankfully (and presumably) Gadd is nice and patient, and Bowser Jr. was curious enough about his craft that he decided to pass on his knowledge to him. I see a lot of people talk about the paintbrush, which is made by Gadd, but then you think of the motorboat and the Bowser mech Junior uses during Sunshine. I like to think Junior cobbled them together through his newly-attained knowledge. Especially considering their bizarre designs. Though Bowser does have his wacky Clown Car, plus they have the Koopa Troop to do their labor, so.... who knows!

I started breaking out so bad a few days ago and it's awful. I think it's my vitamin D supplements, but I was diagnosed vitamin D deficient so I have no idea what to do. Lol.

Finally caught up on Deltarune thank goodness, got so tired of trying to avoid spoilers. (and being unable to do so) Anyways it Owned. I really regret sitting on it for a month, and I'm so glad we don't have to wait too long for the next chapter. 😁

a decade ago an ex lent me her copy of hampton's book on figure drawing and my pea brain could NOT wrap my head around reading, period. I revisited it today and i've been chewing thru it so idk what the heck was wrong w 20yo me.

also learning how to properly draw with your whole arm is kind of fantastic, I feel like I opened my third eye LOL. I defo have been practicing it for a while now and did use it a bit on the last drawing I posted but I feel like I'm getting better at it every day.

Rosalina is 7’7 which means she’s a whole ass foot taller than Sephiroth who is also a fucking giant with a canonical height of 6’7. She’s a whole foot taller than him this is so funny to me
