“It looks…” Superman paused, undoubtedly trying to find a less offensive synonym for ‘freakish.’ Lex had heard them all from lovers hyper-concerned with saying the wrong thing. ‘Exotic’ was a popular one. ‘Distinguished’ was also heavy favored by the ones that wanted to flatter.

Superman looked up through his eyelashes, a demure look that was a sharp contrast to his wicked grin. “It looks alien.”

Oh– fuck.

It didn’t matter, he didn’t care, he wasn’t going to stop hating Superman just because Clark had always had the wonderfully infuriating ability to disarm with his own brand of lacking-in-eloquence-but-overabundant-with-heart declarations.

I would love to find out the face Sakura makes when she's told from Sasuke. Will she take the relationship even though she would know that she's only there for baby making reasons? Or will it make her re evaluate her relationships and how she's treating her other relationships? Like, will it be a growing moment for her and Naruto or a firm 'I can't actually depend on you when it matters emotionally'?

A part of me wants a Naruto and Sasuke closure moment. An acknowledgedment from Sasuke about his selfish choices and attitude before he came back and why he was trying to hold on to Naruto. But also an apology, because I don't want Naruto's work to bring him back to mean nothing. That they can matter to each other and not be romantic, because they both have had horrible problems out of their control that impacted any and all of their relationships.

...it's also your story so go for whatever. 😅 I'm just try showing the curiosity the fic inspired.

Okay, so I was rereading Come And Hold Me, and it's always made me a bit mad at Kurama? But then I realised that if Kurama HADN'T done something, Naruto might ACTUALLY have ended up with Sasuke, and all was instantly forgiven. I am honestly just so into CONSENSUAL a/b/o like that, but not as much I'm into Naruto just kneeling at Kakashi's feet <3

YES!! Like the cultivation world is so lucky, because I totally believe he could have set the Burial Mounds on them. Like, if he were any lesser of a man they all would have been wiped out.

Instead he dies because of backlash and giving up. He was sane enough to choose that option...and depressed enough.

I always love fics that bring this out. Like, so many focus his obliviousness, which I think is not even half real. "How could he not notice Lan Zhan's love?" BECAUSE LAN ZHAN WAS DOING EVERYTHING TO IGNORE IT HIMSELF!

He didn't believe Wei Ying's interst was real, so ignored him and never corrected his assumptions. It wasn't until Qiongqi Path (Can I just make a note of how stupid Jin Zixuan's behavior there was?) that Lan Zhan decided he couldn't watch him be killed. And that previously only his brother and possibly his uncle suspected he didn't hate him?

(I feel this fic portrayed Lan Zhan and Wei Ying's inital relationship well with the added bonus of soulmates. Sunder by naqaashi)

So, I do think he's more self aware then usually given credit. Most just don't like to take into account what society and learned behavior would have skewed his options and believed options.

On a side note

and this guy being friends? I've read some cute things where he's adopted by Hulian, but I'm short on friendship fics. And that he doesn't take the Wen to the Burial Mounds, but Ghost City? So many possibilities.

Where the demonic/ghost path is either more OP or about understanding the dead and working together?

I also like to head cannon that in this crossover that when Wei Ying fell into the Burial Mounds it was like getting stuck in Mt Tonglu and that even though he didn't die, he is also a Ghost King.

My favourite part of MDZS is how cool Wei Wuxian is.

Like, we don’t talk enough about how cool he is. He performs Empathy three times. His ability to use a flute is so powerful, the song doesn’t even have to sound good for it to work. He brought a dead guy back to life (kinda sorta).

But especially, I love how Wei Wuxian treats ghosts and corpses! Wei Wuxian just hangs out with corpses, for FUN!! He scares away low-level corpses just by existing! He hears the voices of the dead to the point that he can’t enter a place too full of resentment without getting a headache from the constant chatter.

I also really like the Extra where Wei Wuxian is just like “Well, the ghost will go away when he’s done screaming. I’m not worried about it.” And he just leaves a screaming ghost at some guy’s house so the ghost can move on peacefully (as peacefully as is possible when one moves on by screaming).

I love all of this so much because Wei Wuxian is constantly saying that people have too high of expectations of him. Xue Yang telling him to put Xiao Xingchen’s soul back together is just one example of this. Someone will tell Wei Wuxian to do something and he’ll be like “How powerful do you think I am?!” And it’s like… Wei Wuxian, you spent six hours hanging onto a cursed sword in the Xuanwu’s mouth, you survived three months in the Burial Mounds and then returned to make it into a semi-livable place, you killed at least a thousand people that one time, and you came back from the dead, just to name a few.

Wei Wuxian is so strong. He’s so cool. He is terrifying. He is unstoppable and unflappable if only because he gets over his embarrassment in about fifteen seconds! He just rolls with it! He rolls with anything that happens! He remains Shocked and Apalled by Lan Zhan’s behaviour for all of five minutes before basically going “lol okay”! He told Lan Zhan that he wanted to sleep with him in front of Lan Xichen, Jin Ling, a handful of Jin disciples, and the literal bad guy of the novel!!!

(I’ll never get over that scene. It is so funny.

WWX: “I need to say something, it can’t wait.”

JGY: “Then just say it right now as you are.” (Referring to the fact that Wei Wuxian has a wire wrapped around his throat that can kill him in seconds)

WWX: “Good point! Lan Zhan, we should’ve fucked.”

This scene is so fucking funny, I will absolutely never get over it)

I love powerful protagonists and honestly, Wei Wuxian is at the top of the list when it comes to overpowered protagonists. The only thing that phases him is dogs, and even then, he himself admits that he can get used to their presence as long as they aren’t barking.

TLDR: Wei Wuxian is so powerful and I totally get why Lan Zhan fell for him.

It's no the Lan-Jiang alliance that stop Wen Rohan, it that he ends up in a debate with Lan Qiren on cultivation due to Wei Ying's discoveries. It becomes a thing where where they meet up with Wei Ying to talk cultivation and eventually he brings Wen Qing. 

I can't decide if Meng Yao joins through the Nei or the Wen. I keep thinking Wen, with no war and because they're known for absorbing small Clans and giving them the Wen name. And they're not so sword happy.

So, Wen Rohan still notices him, but because he isn't looking to take over, he snaps whatever desire he sees in Meng Yao to join the Jin, because he's sane and not distracted. I can also see him setting him up with Wen Qing so he's in the line depending on how his son's end up in this.

I think the Nei would join because their Saber issue is brought to light, like Mingjue has a qi deviation. Wen Rohan brings up what he knows (he didn't do anything to the Saber, he didn't have to. Maybe he said something about it as a passing warning or mocking, so everyone assumed.) Qiren brings up what he's noticed and the group dose what it dose. 

And Wei Ying dose what he dose and tells Huaisang. So, of course Huaisang joins, it's his brother!

Jiang do send others, maybe Jiang Cheng. He's not stupid and I like him being in an environment where people won't constantly compare him to Wei Ying. Like in 'In Walls of Glass by Comfect'. But I also like it when we get Lotis Pear OCs.

The Jin send people exactly once and the spend the rest of it being strong armed into funding everything if they want even a hint of what is discussed.
