Exclusive Interview: The Bonfyre Discuss Debut Album “Love, Lust, & Let Downs” & More w/ David Duane

A bonfire, often used in celebration, is said to be a good flame made of bones. So it is not a coincidence that the musical sensation known as The Bonfyre, uses the hottest element and strong foundation as the fuel for her musical career. Since the launch of her professional career, The Bonfyre hit the ground running, dropping her six-track debut album Ready To Love, using popular 80’s samples that were familiar to her and her new fans alike. Her single “Automatic,” cracked the Top 30 Billboard Adult R&B Chart, an amazing feat for first time artists right out of the gate. She later landed a position on The Sketchbook Tour with musical giants Fantasia, Tank and Robin Thicke in 2019. 

She bet on herself early on. In 2013, she launched her YouTube channel, where like all aspiring creatives, she performed covers of her favorite artists and influences. And because the streets are always watching for bold talent, she caught the attention of producer and talent manager Yancey Richardson. This led to a chance Twitter conversation with legendary musical artist Raphael Saadiq who moved her to the musical mecca of Atlanta. 

There, the spark that became the flame that is The Bonfyre, was born. Immersing herself in a full artist development regiment over the course of four years, she refined her craft and talent under Saadiq’s mentorship. But her life never was the same shortly after uploading a cover of Lauryn Hill’s, “The Sweetest Thing” to Soundcloud in 2017 and it was a conversation with LA Reid who made her decision easy. The Bonfyre became a member of the HITCO family and the first female R&B artist signed to the label. With a 2019 nomination for the iHeartRadio Music Award for Best New R&B Artist and a new album on the rise, like with most fires, The Bonfyre has been hard to contain. Breathing life into the industry with her raw talent and love of music, she is poised for success with the release of her debut album, Love, Lust, and LetDowns (Chapters One, Two, & Three), a life chronicle of the good, bad and in-between of romantic relationships.

Amara La Negra continues to promote self-love, confidence and the true bond between a mother and daughter by releasing a children’s book made available in English, Spanish and French for the ages of 5-10 years old. Amara La Negra’s first children’s book, titled “AMARITA’S WAY,” contains three stories that are intended to motivate positivity, inspiration, and ambition. McBride Publishing alongside Amara La Negra is currently producing the second edition under AMARITA’S WAY that covers awareness of bullying that helps children navigate in building a support system to be able to discuss any issues that they may face with a bully. 

Spring 2019, Amara La Negra released her first EP entitled “UNSTOPPABLE” under the BMG imprint. After being signed to the global record label, the songstress captivated fans with the project that featured a Spanglish compilation of work.
