Nygmobblepot Fic Recs: Fake Relationship

I don’t have anything new to contribute for today’s Nygmobblepot Week theme, but I still wanted to take the opportunity to spotlight a few of my perennial favorites in the Fake Dating / Fake Marriage genre! Of course, I’m sure I’ve left out some very deserving gems, and I’m eager to catch up with all the new ones being posted today, too. Authors, much love and gratitude to you all!

A Marriage Is For Life, Not Just For Deniable Accountability by HoopyFrood / @ivegotmytowel​

Summary: “Ed proposes a proposal.”

Simply put, easily one of my very favorite Nygmobblepot fics. It’s beautifully written, it strikes a great balance between fluff and humor and mild angst, it features a wonderfully characterized supporting cast, and every chapter simultaneously destroys me and fills my heart with joy. If you haven’t already had the pleasure, please treat yourself to a read.

Don’t Say “I Do” by Roehrborn

Summary: “Edward is in agony. Has the world gone mad? Oswald Cobblepot is getting married to Sofia Falcone, and everyone is acting like this is completely normal! Except one person…and it’s not one he would have expected…In which Edward Nygma and Carmine Falcone conspire to stop a wedding.”

So technically, the fake relationship in this one is between Oswald and Sofia, but that just means we get the absolute treat of watching a very jealous Edward desperately try to set things to rights. Absolutely hilarious and sweet!
