What about the bard? You know, darlings, I wake up each morning with this exact question in mind. It is the bard’s job, after all, to sing of legends, to make heroes and martyrs of common folk. But who sings … of the bard?
(Certainly not a certain little blue bird …)
This event was created to honor the most undervalued, unappreciated, tragically ignored character in The Witcher - me, Jaskier “Julian” Alfred Pankratz, called Dandelion, the barker of the White Wolf and sworn nemesis of Valdo Marx.
For two weeks (September 12 - 26th), I bade you to post your great works made in my honor. And because I am a man of dimensions (and wide imagination …), each day will offer prompts in three categories:
Wreck the bard (smut)
Whump the bard (whump and h/c)
Wuv the bard (fluff)
I am ravenous to see what you will produce, my darlings!
With much love,
Jaskier

A little PSA for people who use AO3…
Gen refers to fic that is not focused on romance. If your fic is not a romance fic, please give it this tag.
Other refers to fic that is focused on romance, but is not specifically male/female, male/male, or female/female (like an OT3 (ship involving 3 people), a ship involving characters that are not male or female, etc). IT IS NOT FOR PLATONIC RELATIONSHIPS. IT IS FOR ROMANTIC ONES. please for the love of all that is holy do not tag your family-relationship-centered fics as “other” you are going to give people a HEART ATTACK.
“Character/Character” is for romantic pairs. “Character & Character” is for platonic relationships like friendship, family, etc. Please do not tag family-centered or adult-and-minor-centered platonic character relationships as character/character for the love of all that is holy
The E rating is for smut and literally nothing else (unless you have other unusual reasons to rate it E–I’ve seen people apply it to non-smut fics as a deterrent to keep minors away from it, but keep in mind it’ll make it so people who are trying to avoid smut will not find your fic). Your fic that has a lot of graphic violence but no sexual content does not need an E rating.
The M rating is for fics that would basically be rated R if they were movies, and may contain graphic violence, some sexual content, and generally more serious subject matter than you would typically show a teenager. However, if your fic is almost entirely smut, please just give it an E rating.
Also, when you post a fic, you WILL want to give it a rating, or else AO3 will assume you’re probably posting smut and will warn everybody who clicks on your fic that it may contain adult content. If you don’t want that on your fic that contains no adult content at all, please just give it the proper rating instead of not rating it at all.

A Gift Surpassing All Things Imagined (chapter 11)
This is about 70% angst. Be warned.
Otherwise: lots of cuddling, vomiting, vaginal/anal fingering, vaginal/anal sex, double penetration, foursome, affectionate insults, so much love and reassurance fucking hell, idiots in love being idiots, alpha/alpha sex
For a long time, Jaskier sits in Vesemir's room, staring at the bowl of wheat sprouts. His mind is a jumble of panic and elation, of horror and joy. He never wanted to be a mother, not once in his life. He tolerates children, likes making them laugh and dance and sing along to his music, but he's always been happy when their parents took them away again.
And now there's a child growing inside him. A real, actual human being he'll have to grow and birth and feed and look after so they don't crack their head open learning to walk or something stupid like that.
"How?" he whispers, and Vesemir sits beside him on the bed, taking his shaking hands in his.
"I'm not sure, but… I have a theory. You know about Eskel's magic?"

i am. so sorry if i have ever used the phrase “i have an au where—” and led you to believe that there is an actual fic out there for you to read rather than, at best, a post where i explain the concept, and at worst it is simply something that lives in my brain

Visible Mending
Introduction:
Visible mending is a decorative way to fix up an item. Instead of trying to make your mend as invisible as possible, the idea is to make it part of the garment's design.
Visual mending is not a single technique: it's more of a mindset. If you've got an item you love, it deserves to be mended, and if you're going to put that love into stitches, why not show them off?
That being said, there are some specific techniques that are popular with visible menders. Let's take a look!
Sashiko:
Sashiko is a type of traditional Japanese embroidery that is used to both decorate and reinforce fabric. In visible mending, sashiko is often used to cover up holes with patches or to reinforce thinning fabric. This technique uses a variation on the running stitch.

Some resources on sashiko:

Embroidery:
Regular embroidery is also a popular technique to accentuate your mends. Check out my embroidery 101 post to learn how to get started. You can embroider patches, or use embroidery to hide or accentuate any stitches you've made to fix holes. Embroidery's also a great way to cover up stains.

Patches:
There are many ways to add patches to a garment. My tutorial on patches is a good place to start if you want to make custom-shaped patches to sew on top of your fabric. You can also sew your patch on the inside of your garment and have it peek out from beneath the hole you're trying to fix. Fun ideas for this are lace or superheroes.

Darning:
Darning is a technique used to repair holes in fabric by using running stitches to weave extra fabric over the hole as to fill it up again. While traditionally darning is done in an invisible way by using the same colour of thread as your fabric, you can also use contrasting colours to accentuate your fix. Check out this written tutorial on darning by TheSpruceCrafts.

Conclusion:
Visible mending is a creative way to fix up your clothes and give them some personality at the same time.
You should be proud of the fact that you took the time and learned the necessary skills needed to mend your clothes! Show off what you did!
A fun side effect of wearing these obvious mends is that people will notice them. They'll remember your fixes the next time they're faced with a hole in their wardrobe, and it will make them more likely to try it for themselves.
These are just a few ways to visibly mend your garments. Want more inspiration? Check out Pinterest or r/Visiblemending on Reddit.
