I want to plan a Cosplay Meet-up for Animate 2015 and I would like to know if this is would be a place to mention it ? I want to meet other Homestuck cosplayers in order to try to form a social group, if you have any tips in forming said group, it would be greatly appreciated if they we're mentioned.

Sorry, I’ve taken long to answer this, mostly due to not being sure how to answer this. I mean, a face book page could work? I’m sorry I personally haven’t had alot of luck with social groups, at least up until recently. 

I guess my best advice is to be goal oriented.

Like, make it a point you want to do monthly meet ups, make a chat & keep it active, and talk about plans. People love making plans.

Should I audition here or Sunshineplayers? What's the difference? Sorry I'm a little dense.

The difference is that miamistuck is meant to advertise meet ups or announce when something is happening pertaining to homestuck in S. Florida. 

sunshineplayers is a place specifically meant to organize events/panels that will involve a large cosplay group we’re opening up. The bigger difference is that it isn’t just about homestuck, we want to do panels for other fandoms too.

Its also really hard to fit all the information we need in one place and Sunshine Players solves that issue for us.

For the casting auditions, what are they for, specifically? Aside form having the cast, is it for a specific con or basically just a group of people that will go to cons together and do panels? I'm kind of confused

Its for auditions, but if you’re accepted you can choose to join us if you like us enough. So, sorry if we haven’t been totally clear at this time, we’ve been really busy WITH auditions and haven’t had time to really clear this up or update the tumblr. We’re all spread a little thinly with organizing events, going through 20+ auditions, making prizes, and our own personal lives.

The immediate goal at the moment is for Metrocon ( at least for us) and more immediately Holiday Matsuri (for floridastuck ), but in the long run we are in the process of forming and setting up a tumblr ( sunshineplayers  - its a little bare bones, but it’s finished and about ready for debut) for a Florida based group of cosplayers dedicated to high quality content for panels. There we will have a dedicated area for cosplay auditions, events, and panels hosted by us and the people we work with. The miamistuck & floridastuck  tumblrs are more meant for advertising events and providing information for them, so its a little chaotic to sort through people who want to audition versus people who want to know when such and such meet is happening!

Which is where sunshineplayers comes into play! Particularly since we want to do more than just Homestuck Panels, such as Gravity Falls and Steven Universe to name a couple.

We want to do something different than the usual Q&A panels, we want something fun for everyone thats highly interactive and brings people together. We want our group to at least be amicable with each other, enough so that we know that we can all depend on one another to do our best. Its really helpful when you’re in a group of dependable people who you know you can count in the case of a cosplay mishap, rides, and helping each other practice.

How do you send in applications? Do you send the skype through the ask? How long does it usually take?

We are going to be working on changing out we accept audition applications, we’re trying to fine tune the whole process. But at the moment, if you could send us your skype through ask we would appreciate it.

Is there an age limit on who can apply?

You have to be at least 13 and you need your parents permission to participate, but regardless of age you need to be mature.

Are there any rules as to who can apply besides the posted ones?

If you give us a bit, we’re going to update the rules and the audition process.

GENERAL HOMESTUCK PANEL AUDITIONS NOW OPEN!

We are officially opening up auditions for all the characters again! Now that Metrocon has come and gone we would like to fill out our cast as well as have more than one person per character so that if people can’t make it to one con, perhaps one of the others can. 

You may attempt to audition for as many characters as you wish as well as get the part for several characters, though you obviously would only be able to play a single character at any given panel.

Thanks to all of you who attended as well as to all of our panelists at Metro 2015! You all helped make the panel great and we fully intend to do it for as long as there is interest!

12:00 pm - Panel Room 21 - Attack on Homestuck Stop by Attack on Homestuck! Where there will be questions answered, ridiculous scenarios acted out, shipping weird stuff, and many cruel jokes! This has to be the weirdest crossover but the best group! Who wouldn't want to see Hanji and John doing the Macarena? Or perhaps weird character moments? Hope to see you there! (Spoiler warning)
