Even though Jacob was more focused on the marine section of biology, he did understand how diseases tended to work. Maybe if it was someone else trying to convince him that zombies were on the island, than he would not have spent a single second more and gone outside. But she had him pausing, moving away from the door and turning to give her more attention. "Alright, tell me what you saw," Jacob said, making sure the deadbolt was on. It didn't necessarily mean zombies. It could just be an illness, something that was manageable. He'd rather not get it though.

"This has happened twice before to me," Trinity said slowly, choosing her words carefully. Every new killer that came up was determined to kill the original, to complete the thing that the originals couldn't do. This was not the first time that she had heard this statement. "If you're going to stop them from doing this, then you're going to have to know the rules of horror movies." Trinity sometimes couldn't believe this was her life. And if she hadn't seen the killer over-relying on these rules, she probably wouldn't have believed that this was an actual solution to such a dangerous person.
