BLOG #2 THE ENTREPRENEURIAL MIND
Our new product is the Place Matter. Base on our gathered data, the commonly used appliances in cooking at home is rice cooker and stove some also answered that they used microwave oven. The respondents most foods to likely to eat at home which is easy to prepare are instant noodles, canned foods and fried foods. They usually these foods when the dont have enough time and needed to eat in hurry. They think that having an appliances such as rice cooker and microwave oven saves their energy and time but at the same time they said that it is expensive. And according to the survey out of 100%, 85.2 percent answered yes when they're asked if they practice reheating of food at home and mostly of them practices reheating of stored foods. The respondents usually reheat their foods by using the gas stoves. They said that the spoiled left-over food is a waste of food and money and by that they said that it is a problem at home. And according to the respondents a portable reheating equipment will be useful to them.
Our hypothesis is to gather information on what is their electronic usage upon preparing food and cooking their food which mostly of them says that they used rice cooker and kitchen stoves in preparing meals. On the other hypothesis we test on how they deal with left-over foods at home which they've mostly answered that they reheat the food upon consuming it and they found spoiled left over food as a waste. And for our last hypothesis which seeks to introduced our proposed product to them which is the platter. The results are according to them using a portable reheating of food equipment will become useful to them.
First i have learned that failure is an opportunity to begin again, at first we have failed our first product or the app which was the meal tracker whereas we've got low score in our venture proposal and got disappointed to the outcome. I concluded that as a group we needed to fail to be able to think and build another product which is much better than our first product. We have also learned that there's always a room for improvement even though at first try we have failed but this failure leads us into building strong teamwork whereas we have gathered new idea in just few days compared to the first product which takes us a week. This also teach us time management, in which we made some task to be done and needed to pass it on the designated time which makes our work faster and easier since we worked all together.
As our first product's outcome was a big disappointment to us, our group's options was to either brainstorm other features for our which makes it unique to any other group and the other option think another product which is way better to the meal tracker. to Our team decided to change our product from a meal tracker to a portable reheating place mat, which became a challenge to us because we dont have enough time to make the venture proposal and the survey with the respondents of 100. However, by the power of teamwork, we have successfully made through it.
