Why did humans fear that which they themselves created ? It’s not as if any one synthetic asked to be created anymore than any brn creature did and yet they were treated with a scorn that would be deemed barbaric if directed at an organic life-form.

She had lost so much, seen her love murdered in front of her just because of what she was. Someone hated her so much they had murdered another to get at her. Finding Lore had been a light amongst all the dark. She could tell how he felt and could guess what he’d been through all these years. 

“ I’d like that, ” the younger android said. Bittersweet would be that moment but Data had been the reason she existed and the only Synth she knew of who had been allowed to be treated as a life. Even been legally declared a living thing as far as she recalled. 

She neglected to ask what had led to her uncle getting angry enough to steal some of Data’s memories, he didn’t need that upon him right now. Nor really did she care.

Dahj looked up at her uncle, someone she was most grateful to have in her life. “ It would have been nice to meet him, yes, ” she started slowly. “ But it wasn’t to be. I’ve come to terms with that. I just wish we lived in a universe where none of us had to be destroyed, where we could all just be a family together. ”

“…….I wish your dad was alive to see you. He was always going on about how he couldn’t feel emotions blah blah blah……but he would have been so proud to see what you’ve accomplished.”

There was a distinct look of guilt, regret even in Lore’s eyes as he looked at his niece…..and his next words spoke out what exactly pained him.

“…….I should have been the one destroyed…..not him.”
