I finished my notebook and started a new one so more music yapping!!
La Dispute, albums «Rooms of the House» and «Tiny Dots»: I think I made it clear I love this band, I want to find their CDs but people are reselling them for a lot of money online :( Rooms of the House was sooo nice in the most depressing way possible I loved it, Tiny Dots is half old songs so like, the new ones where nice but I don't have a particularly strong opinion on the album as a whole?
Song of Zarathustra, album «The Birth of Tragedy»: I really DON'T like screamo. I don't like not understanding lyrics and I don't like getting yelled at. This being said I loved it and I WILL listen to their second album. Truly my theory that every genre gotta have one thing for everyone is proven right once again. Or maybe I'm just getting used to it idk.
Fugazi, album «Repeater»: I went to check it out because the singer's the same guy who sang in Rites of Spring; I like it a lot and I will be listening to more albums. I like the intonation he has in his voice it sounds funny idk how to explain it.
Miighty Flashlight, self titled album: it's fine, it's a bit cryptic. I liked Hala Hanan Di Halida, but it's not really my thing, overall, maybe a bit boring I'd say.
Moss Icon, «Complete Discography»: yeah it's pretty nice, a few songs I really liked like Kick the Can, I'll probably be listening to it again. Can't say much because I forgot.
Beefeater, album «Plays for Lovers / House Burning Down»: Okay so I didn't LOVE it but I found that every single song is consistent in terms of quality and I definitely enjoyed it. I did really like the diction of the singer, it's not something I've heard so far. Mr. Silverbird is a really cool track.
The Get Up Kids, album «Four Minutes Mile»: It was kinda... Nothing new I guess? I'll listen to more albums to see how they evolved after this because it definitely wasn't bad. However the song are always kinda the same thing in terms of sound.
London After Midnight, album «Selected Scenes From the End of the World»: The First track is sooo good it may have set the standard too high for thd rest but I did really like it and I will listen to more. I'm surprised I don't hear about them more often actually?
Red Lorry, Yellow Lorry, album «Talk About the Weather»: I liked it! I forgot to annotate the last three songs (or I just didn't like them but I would have remembered if it was the case). Not too clean but still a nice listen!
Gene Loves Jezebel, album «Promise»: I probably wouldn't have liked it two months ago but I'm getting used to music that sounds like I'm being bitten in the knees now so I really enjoyed it. Punch Drunk was very fun, Wraps and Arms also stood out.
NEW NOTEBOOK!! I'M UNSTOPPABLE!!!
The Sisters of Mercy, albums «Floodland Collection», «Vision Thing», and «Voice of the Past» which isn't an album it's interview excerpts I'm not commenting on that: I loved both and I finally got to listen to the rest of their albums which is great! It's crazy that I circled every single track in Vision Thing actually (my code is underline for like circle for fuck yeah that stands out). I should get CDs of them.......

More music!!! That I listened to!!
Pansy Division, album "Deflowered": That is horny unserious pop music (but gay). It's fun, I probably wouldn't listen to it for any occasion but that's just taste ig. I did like 'Denny' I thought the storytelling was nice.
Corrosion of Conformity, album "Eye for an Eye": Not a fan of the way it sounds, overall, but I do enjoy when music is political so I did like it. Although I had to read the lyrics while listening to get what they were saying.
Le pré où je suis mort, self titled EP: it's ok.
Thrill of Confusion, album "Desolation": I took 0 notes because I was cleaning but I liked it! I just don't remember it at all now lol. It's on me for not being concentrated.
VAUNDY, album "replica": it's okay it's fun. There's a few songs I liked a lot (esp 'Bidenkyu' because he's kinda moaning and I like when singers do that.) I do have to say pop doesn't catch my attention as much as some other genres do, tho. Also, very long album and I kinda spaced out after track 16.
Stereotypical Working Class, album "Illusions": I really really liked "Station of Nowhere" but I didn't like this one as much. It was nice, it just didn't feel particularly original. Still, I hope to find an album of theirs someday.
La Souris Déglinguée, albums "Aujourd'hui et Demain" and "La cité des Anges": Ok so 1st one was from the 80s and I really understood why they do remastered versions of old CDs (I have no idea wtf any of the lyrics were.) 2nd album was from the 2000s. Very boring. Lyrics aren't particularly interesting and vocals are normal ig.
Suicidal Tendencies, self titled album: I will give them a second chance because I do like the political messages but! Isn't it kinda useless to have things to say if you're going to shout in a way that makes it hard to make out. Also I feel like I should probably listen to recent bands when it comes to punk, since it's like, all about politics.
J'aurais Voulu, album "Sans Trahir": I wrote down that I really like it but I do not remember it at all so I'll trust my notes on that I guess.
Le Tigre, self titled album: it's okay. Again, punk's probably more interesting when it's relevant to your time period. Also from your area ig.
Rites of Spring, self titled album: I really REALLY liked it. I went and read the lyrics after (because I didn't pay too much attention) and I found them to be really nice too. I should try and find that cd but I think that will be a hopeless quest.
Braid, "Frankie Welfare Boy Age Five": Eeeh it's fine I guess, I didn't listen to the whole thing. It didn't feel very varied. Kinda boring.
Gray Matter, album "Food for Thought": Kinda loved it. Lyrics are fine. I would've listened to it A LOT as a teen I think.
Embrace, self titled album: I found it very similar to Gray Matter except I liked GM better. Might re listen to it because it could also be an effect of listening to them back to back.
La Dispute, albums "Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair" and "Wildlife": got sidetracked bc I saw Panorama was supposedly much softer than their other stuff. It's still kinda soft I think?? I love that band I think. Finding a CD of them might be a less hopeless quest than Rites of Spring too.
BONUS you get to see the ever growing list of things I want to give a listen to. (+Source of where I found the recs)

Yk I never ever do these tag games but this is a music question so I have to omg
- Renaud, Les Charognards, album Place de ma mob (later called Laisse béton), one of my favourite songs ever that launched my obsession with Renaud. This man is was so good at mixing humour, politics, and the most depressing shit ever, I think of all the times I've cried in high school a good 70% were triggered by his songs. (I was am very emotionally unstable.)
- Jacques Brel, L'amour est mort, album Les Marquises, this song got me foaming at the mouth like oh my god Brel is so good at writing the most pessimistic love songs and also, genius poet and lyricist if you speak French it's so worth reading his texts and if you don't it's still very very worth the listen
- Tracy Chapman, Remember the Tinman, album New Begining, her voice is so good, her texts are so good, if you like softer stuff you should definitely listen to Tracy Chapman.
- Gogol Bordello, Pala Tute, album Trans-Continental-Hustle, That whole album is great go listen to it it's fun the lyrics are cool and the energy is high yay
- Metallica, The House Jack Built, album Load, I got the cd a little at random and I don't regret it one bit (I already knew I liked Metallica so it wasn't too risky of a bet...). I haven't listened to it enough that I have a whole paragraph worth of things to say but it's really nice :) yay :)
I feel awkward tagging people so do it if you want to I would love to see people's music recs :)
