the fact that my big four (? I think it’s four) stories that peeled something away from my eyes and then punched me in the throat are all basically about being irrevocably fundamentally different and maybe it’s something you always were that you had been failing to let yourself be and maybe you have been materially changed from who you were before but none of it matters what matters is are you happy like this? does this feel better? even if it hurts and doesn’t make sense half the time, are you in love?

The Beginning of the End
TLDR: Your regularly scheduled programming will be available after a short break, due to the early release of the previous segment.
Recrimination Season 3 is now complete and available to read online! Longtime followers of this work know that Rec is planned for four seasons in order to match Rebels. That means there’s only nine episodes left… forever!
A lot has changed since I began writing these scripts. I’m typing this on the floor of my new apartment (next to my mattress, since the bed frame isn’t here yet) while trying to recover from the ice cold shower I just took (our hot water is out, just in time for my official move-in today). The first day of orientation for my graduate program is Friday, and I have a lot of paperwork to fill out before then so I can actually get paid.
What does this mean for Recrimination? To be honest, not much. I hold myself to very firm deadlines in order to make sure I release one episode a month during the academic year and three a month during the summer. I want to be able to share this story with you all before I loose the time to tell it in as much depth. This summer especially I pushed hard to get all nine episodes of Season 3 out before my move, because I was worried I wouldn’t be able to start if I stopped.
Season 4 will be no different from Season 2. One episode will release each month from September to May. The only change is that the wait for S4E1 is going to be a lot longer, since there’s still three weeks left in August.
How am I spending this time? This is by far my longest break since I started the scripts in June 2024. Actually, it’s kind of the first real break? I’m going to be doing all the life stuff I mentioned above, plus getting a chance to read and work on some art development, at least on the weekends.
I think the end of Season 3 really lends itself to this kind of delay, and I don’t think anyone is fully caught up so I’m not torturing anyone with the suspense. If you want to know what happens next, the outlines are up and available too- they just tend to be a little less exciting in their prose.
This isn’t a hiatus. I am, as always, available and eager to take questions, comments, and any manner of discussion on this blog. Don’t be shy!
