Where is the Justice
Senator y/n is sick of the lies of both the Jedi and the chancellor
Thanks @mimi10134 for the inspiration it was an absolutely fascinating consept
“Senator l/n to what do I owe this pleasure.” The chancellors oily voice was like nails on a chalkboard. Senators Amidala Organa and Burtoni along with Yoda and the republics poster boys Skywalker and Kenobi.
“What is this.” I slid a bill across his desk.
“It’s our new military spending bill. Senator I don’t quite understand what you’re getting at.” The chancellor leaned against his desk.
“This “”bill”” pulls funding from our social services department. We can’t afford to pull funding from them. They’re running on nothing.”
“It’s a small price to pay for justice.” The Chancellor stood bristling.
“Where is the justice in stripping funding from our healthcare services? Electricity? Child care? Schools? Our people are suffering because of our choices.”
“Your simple arguments have all been made before.” He sent a pointed look to Organa and Amidala.” The worlds not black an white. The choice not either or.”
You scowled at him.” Then perhaps it’s time we drain the color from it then. Till we’re back to seeing black and white; and wrong and right again. The citizens of the Republic will be hurt by this bill. Can’t you see it. People are starving to death because we’ve pulled so much funding. Children can’t get an education. Your excellency we cannot pass this bill. I know there are plenty of senators who’d support me on this.” Your voice becoming more and more pleading.
“This bill would help protect the government.” Senator Burtoni protested.
“This bill would make you rich Senator.” You stared the much taller woman down.” The only thing the Republic would benefit from is reducing military spending.”
“Senator L/n what your propose could cripple our war efforts against the separatists.” Skywalker objected. Ever the Chancellors pet you thought quietly to yourself. Skywalker scowled as Kenobi placed a hand against his mouth almost stifling a chuckle.
“We cannot afford for this bill to pass. I believe the Jedi should not be involved in such private discussions.”
“The Jedi are serving as Generals for the GAR Senator. I believe it’s fair they hear our opinions on the war effort.” Palpatine waved away your suggestion.” Besides I trust Master Kenobi and Knight Skywalker.”
“I think Senator L/n has point.” Senator Organa clapped you on the shoulder. “I will not be supporting the new spending bill.”
“Neither will I your excellency.” Senator Amidala stood up dusting off the front of her dress.
“The new military spending bill will be passed.” The chancellor reported. Your aid looked at you apologetically.
“Chancellor how. More than half of the senate voted against this bill?” Your pod flew out to meet him.
“Unfortunately due to the state of the Republic I’ve pulled emergency powers Senator. Is there a problem.” He looked down at you. A sudden icy chill gripped you
“No your excellency.”
There is no justice in the senates eyes. For the people for the Republic. Only senseless war and violence

What the future holds?
Hello There,
I want to first thank those who have liked my Star Wars OC story so far! I have decided that I am going to stop posting about my Star Wars OC and instead introduce to you a Star Wars AU idea that I have been planning for about a month now.
Introducing:
This is an AU based on the idea that the Clones from the Clone Wars Series enter the hit reality TV show: Survivor!
For those who are unfamiliar with Survivor, it is a reality TV show that involves a group of usually 16 to 20 contestants who are sequestered in a remote, exotic location and compete for a cash prize.
This was a show that grew up watching and I thought why not combine Star Wars and Survivor!
I am still in the writing phase of this so don’t except the first episode for a few weeks maybe months. But I want to include you all in this!
When the first episode (script) drops, you all will get a chance to pick your favorite survivor and even toward the end, get a chance to vote for who the winner!
The teams have already be decided and I will drop that later this week!
PLEASE SHARE THIS AND LET’S HAVE SOME FUN!

Fall (A Star Wars OC Story) Chapter 3
“Nat,” Knight said shaking me.
When I woke up the sun had set, and it was dark. My head was pounding a mile a minute and I wasn’t sure if it was from dehydration or the concussion that I most likely had. Knight kneeled next to me with his helmet off, looking at me with worry.
“I’m okay,” I said grasping my head, “Where did he go?”
“Don’t know,” Knight said helping me up, “He was gone when I came to.”
I bent down to pick up both my lightsabers and placed them back on my belt. My head and wrist were throbbing with pain. Looking down at my wrist, I could see that Knight had patched it up with some wrap. My right cheek was throbbing, and I could feel a bruise from the assassin’s blow. I looked up toward the top of the canyon and began walking.
“Hey where are you going,” Knight asked grabbing my good wrist.
“Following him,” I said, “We had him, Knight and we know that he is here.”
“And we now know that he is very powerful, and we should probably contact the council for backup.”
“I can handle an assassin,” I said breaking out of his grasp, “Wouldn’t be the first time.”
“Nat will you stop,” he said walking in front of me, “You almost died today, can’t you see that? This assassin, whoever he is, is powerful and he will kill you. We need backup.”
“And what if it is too late,” I said, “He could leave and never be brought to justice.”
Knight sighed, “I told you that I had your back. And this is me having your back. I won’t let you get yourself killed over this. We go back to the ship. We contact Coruscant. We get help.”
I sighed and then turned away from Knight. I was too tired and too in pain to argue with him. I could feel his eyes fall on me as I walked back toward the ship. The entire way back Knight and I didn’t say a word to each other. My head throbbed with every step I took, and I could feel the blood coming out of my wrist bandage, but all the pain seemed to subside when I saw Anakin, Obi-Wan, Captain Rex and Commander Cody standing by the Y-Wing.
“Looks like you got the backup you wanted,” I whispered to Knight as we walked up.
Anakin crossed his arms as we walked up, “I don’t know where to begin this conversation. How about with the fact that you stole my Y-Wing?”
“You haven’t used this bucket of bolts in months,” I said, “It was just sitting in the back of hanger and I didn’t think you would notice that it was gone.”
“Regardless you stole it to come out to a place that the council told you not to come out too,” he said raising his voice.
“Anakin please,” Obi-Wan said stepping forward, “Are you alright, Natalia?”
I sided eyed Obi-Wan as if to think that his question was a trap.
“I’ve been better,” I slowly answered.
“It was foolish for you two to come out here alone,” he said addressing Knight as well, “Natalia, I told that I would have kept you in the loop if anything came up.”
“And I just sit in the Temple twiddling my thumbs,” I said, “I am more help out here than I am back there.”
“You also are acting on emotion,” Obi-Wan said, “You will be blinded and do an action that is not the Jedi way. And you have already clearly engaged the enemy.”
“He isn’t dead if that’s what you are thinking,” I said, “He got away.”
“Oh, even better,” Anakin said sarcastically, “Now he will be on guard.”
“If you would have just come with me, he may be in custody.”
“Well if you had just waited for Obi-Wan and I---.”
“Enough,” Obi-Wan said stepping between, “What’s done is done. What we need to figure out now is how we are going to find this assassin and take him in.”
“His ship crashed not too far from here,” I said, “He may be hiding out around there. I can take you right to it.”
“No,” Obi-Wan said, “You have already done enough. Anakin and I will go at first light and you and Knight will return to Coruscant.”
“But,” I began.
“I am not arguing anymore,” Obi-Wan said, “You are injured as well.”
I didn’t even notice that blood was bleeding through the bandage on my wrist.
“We will have Kix look at that,” Anakin said turning away.
“Knight,” Captain Rex said, “We need to talk.”
Knight walked by me and with Captain Rex.
“Captain,” I said.
Captain Rex turned toward me.
“Go easy on Knight,” I said, “He was only following orders. He was my master’s Sargent and he was the only one who I could trust on this mission. So, I ordered him to come.”
Rex looked at Knight and said, “Is this true, Knight?”
Knight looked at me. I knew he wanted to tell the truth, but I told him with my eyes to lie.
“Yes, sir,” Knight said, “I was following orders. I know I should have reported it, but we had to move quickly and didn’t have time.”
I gave a half smile with Knight as he walked away with the rest of the clones. Kix wrapped my wrist with a new bandage and gave me medication for my bruised cheek. It wasn’t long before a fire was built, and everyone had turned in for the night. However, sleep for me was non-existence. I kept replaying my recent battle over and over in my head. I sat up from the ground and looked over to see Obi-Wan standing at the edge of the canyon. I walked toward him with the hood of my cloak up.
“Can’t sleep,” he said as I walked up.
“Haven’t been able to for the past few days,” I said standing next to him.
A silence fell between us, all that could be heard was the wind and fire crackling.
“I’m sorry for not trusting you, Master Kenobi,” I finally said, “I know that Sargent Knight and I shouldn’t have gotten involved.”
He remained quiet for a few moments and then spoke, “Did you know that I too witnessed the death of my master as a young padawan?”
I was drawn back by what he just told me, “No. I didn’t know that.”
“It was during the Battle of Naboo,” he said, “He was killed at the hands of a Sith named Darth Maul. I tried to help him, but a force wall kept me from doing so. It is an image that even today I can’t get out of my head.”
“When I witnessed his death, there was a rage inside of me that I never felt before. And I knew that when my opportunity came to kill Maul I would take it. And I did kill him. Or so I thought. A few years later, Maul emerged from the shadows to seek his revenge for what I did to him. He still to this day roams the galaxy searching for me.”
“You don’t seem bothered by that,” I said.
“I know that when the day comes, I am more than willing to take on Maul,” he said, “I won’t view him as the Sith who killed my master. But, see him as someone who has been lost in their way.”
I sighed, “Can I ask what got you through the dark times after your master died?”
Obi-Wan looked over his shoulder at Anakin who was sound asleep.
“Anakin was merely a youngling at the time,” he said looking back, “Master Qui-Gon was to be his master but I took on that role instead. I promised Anakin that I would make him a Jedi Knight. But I wasn’t just promising him but Master Qui-Gon as well.”
“So, I need to forgive the assassin that killed Master Shun and take on some new calling in life,” I said sarcastically.
“No one said it would be easy. Master Shun saw greatness in you Natalia as do I. I wouldn’t have taken you on as a padawan if I didn’t see it.”
I looked out over the horizon and then said, “Maybe you are right. If I give up now, I would be letting Master Shun down. And more importantly myself.”
Obi-Wan smiled, “You are facing a great challenge in front of you, Natalia. And although at first you didn’t handle it in the best way. I do still think you can prove yourself.”
I looked at Obi-Wan, “You mean..”
He sighed, “I have thought about it and I think that you should come with Anakin and I in the morning. And before you thank me, this isn’t me giving you permission to kill the assassin. Consider it a test. A test to see how well your emotions can be controlled and view the assassin as just.”
“I won’t let you down, Master Kenobi,” I said bowing, “Thank you.”
He gave me a slight nod, “Now, try and get some sleep. We have a big day coming up.”
I bowed to him once more before heading back to the fire. I was just given another chance to face this assassin. And this time, I wasn’t going to fail.

Fall (A Star Wars OC Story) Chapter 2
After my meeting with Master Yoda, I was determined more than ever to find the person who killed my master. I knew that the assassin had to have connections with the Separatists and was a Force wielder. With this information that I had, I headed to the Jedi Achieves to look at the records. Sitting at a table in the middle of the giant room, I flipped through various different photos of known Sith to the Republic. The assassin’s weapon choice was unique. The use of a double-sided lightsaber but a knife as well.
“Hey,” a familiar voice called to me.
I looked to my right and saw Anakin.
“I hope you aren’t doing what I think you are doing,” he said sitting down next to me.
“What,” I said, “I am studying. It helps with my mourning.”
Anakin remained expressionless as if to say non-verbally, I know what you are really doing.
“Everyone does it differently, Anakin,” I said looking back at the screen.
“The council told you not to get involved, Natalia,” he said leaning back in the chair, “Yet, here you are.”
“Master Yoda told me not to get involved, but he didn’t say anything about researching.”
“Natalia,” he began.
“Remember when you thought Obi-Wan was dead,” I said looking at him, “You didn’t sit on the sidelines and let the council handle it.”
“That was different. In the sense that the Council knew that Obi-Wan was still alive. However, in this case, ---.”
“My master is actually dead,” I said standing up.
“Hey, let’s just talk,” he said.
“I get it, Anakin alright,” I said walking away, “I won’t get involved.”
---------------------------------------
After leaving the Jedi Archive, I paced around the hidden room, contemplating what had to be done to find my Master’s killer. My racing thoughts were then interrupted by Knight walking into the room.
“Hey,” he said, “I got your message. You okay?”
I stopped pacing and looked at Knight, “I am about to do something that may or may not get me into trouble.”
“Alright, what is this something?”
Taking a deep breath, I said, “I need to go back to Oria. That is the last place where I saw the assassin and no matter what I look up, I can’t find any information on this individual.”
Knight seemed unfazed by my plan. It meant a great deal to me that I find out who did this, and he respected it.
“Okay, when do we leave?”
“No,” I said walking up to him, “This is something that I have to do on my own. I can’t be responsible if you get branded a deserter and thrown into prison.”
“And I can’t have you go to Oria on your own,” he said grasping my shoulders, “I told you that I got you. And I meant it.”
“Knight,” I said.
“Nat, I am coming,” he said, “And that’s my decision.”
I gave a slight smile and then kissed him on the cheek.
“I feel like either way you are going to follow me,” I said, “But we are leaving now. The council is already starting their investigation, it is just a matter of time before they find their way over to Oria.”
“I will need a few minutes to gather my weapons and supplies,” Knight said, “But I can meet you by the hanger.”
“Perfect.”
Knight soon left the room to gather what he needed for the journey and I went to do the same. Walking out of my room, I wore my dark brown cloak and had both my lightsaber and my master’s on my belt.
“Natalia,” Obi-Wan said from behind.
“Master Kenobi,” I said turning around.
“I was just coming to talk to you,” he said, “How are you doing today? Anakin told me about your little run in in the Archives.”
“Of course, he did,” I said, “Look. I was just doing a little research that’s all. I am not going to chase after the person who killed my master. I just got curious.”
“I hope you trust that the council will find out who did this. I and Anakin have been assigned to investigate, which means I will ensure only positive outcomes.”
I smiled, “Thank you, Master Kenobi.”
“But that does mean we will have to postpone our training; I hope that’s alright?”
“I understand,” I said, “I want you and Master Skywalker to be fully focused on finding my master’s killer.”
“And we will, of course, keep you updated.”
“Thank you, Master Kenobi,” I said, “For everything.”
He smiled and then noticed the cloak she had on, “And where are you off too?”
I paused for a moment and then said, “Solo lightsaber training. I figure with two lightsabers now; I would need all the help I can get.”
“Well when this investigation is all done, I shall have Anakin give you some pointers. His padawan had two lightsabers and he seemed to train her right.”
I let out a small chuckle and with a bow said, “I should let you get to work. Thank you again, Master Kenobi.”
I left toward the hanger of the Jedi Temple and began thinking about the interaction that I just had with Master Kenobi. I almost felt bad that I was betraying his trust in me and going to Oria even when I said I wouldn’t. My thoughts were then silent when I entered the large hanger and saw Knight waiting for me on the hanger bridge with his weapon and bag.
“I for see one problem with all this,” he said as I walked up, “We don’t have a ship.”
“We do though,” she said gesturing toward the back of the hanger.
Toward the back of the hanger was a yellow and white Y-wing fighter.
“Isn’t that General Skywalker’s ship,” Knight asked walking toward it.
“He hasn’t flown it in a few months,” I said, “He won’t even notice that it is gone.”
I climbed into the pilot seat as Knight made his way into the gunner seat. Once they were ready to go, I took off from the hanger and into the galaxy.
“Ready for the jump to Hyperspace,” I said clicking buttons on the dash.
The Y-Wing zipped into hyperspace.
I barely said a word while on the journey there. I had to be focused. I couldn’t allow for the assassin to get away again. They had to pay for what they did to Master Shun. What they did to me.
“Hey,” Knight said over the comms, “You okay?”
“Yeah,” I said wiping away a tear, “Just didn’t think I would be back so soon.”
“We can turn back. No one would look at you differently if you did.”
“I would look at me differently though,” I said, “We are almost there anyway. No sense in turning back.”
The Y-Wing came out of hyperspace to overlook the dried-out planet of Oria. I took a deep breath before I entered the planet’s surface. I still remember where he was killed and that is where we needed to go. When we landed on Oria’s surface, the sun was just beginning to set. I was the first out of the Y-Wing and didn’t wait for Knight to get out before I walked to the canyon’s edge.
“What is the plan,” he asked walking up behind me.
“We go into the canyon,” I said looking down, “That is the first time we came into contact with the assassin. Maybe they are still down there.”
“Sounds like a good plan,” he said putting on his helmet, “After you.”
I jumped down into the canyon and used the Force to cushion my fall and did the same for Knight. Once we were down in the canyon, we turned right and walked a few feet down, keeping our eyes on the walls of the canyon, trying to find a make shift camp. About a mile down, Knight stopped in front of me, causing me to run into the back of him. Looking over his shoulder, I saw a small grey fighter, it look like it had been not too long as there was only a small layer of sand on it. I walked around Knight and toward the fighter, one of my lightsabers drawn, I looked to the left and Knight was looking to the right.
“It looks like it sustained pretty good damage,” Knight said pointing out the damaged wing and bent front.
“So, they crash landed here,” I said walking to the front of the fighter.
“I would say it was more of a very rough landing,” a voice said.
Looking up on top of the ship, a dark male figure stood. Flashbacks to my master’s death came back into my head. I recognized the weapons and the outfit. It was the assassin. Only this time their hood was down to reveal a black male with black hair on the sides and dark red hair on the top. He wore an eye patch on his right side and his face was covered with what looked like tribal tattoos. Jumping off the top of the ship, he landed in front of Knight and I. I tightened my fight stance and Knight raised his blaster, ready to fire.
“So, the council sends a child and a clone to take me in,” he chuckled with a calming British accent, “How pathetic.”
“You are going to pay for what you did,” I said locking eyes with him.
The assassin simply smiled at me, “You must be the padawan of the Jedi I killed.”
I didn’t reply but simply stared at him.
“I guess that means you are here to kill me,” he said grabbing his lightsaber, “You should know that it won’t end well for you. I will strike you down. Just like I did your master.”
I then charged at him and began our fight with a downward strike which he blocked. I laid more downwards strikes and side strikes but with every move he managed to block each and every one.
“Clearly your master didn’t teach you very well,” he said as we locked lightsabers, “If you were my apprentice this would actually be a challenge.”
“I would rather die than join you,” I said.
“Have it your way.”
I saw then he removed one of his hands from the lightsaber and reached behind his back. For a brief moment I saw his small knife that he used to kill my master. Before he could drive into my side, Knight managed to shoot it out of his hand. With a grunt, the assassin used the Force to knock Knight back.
“KNIGHT,” I said.
I grabbed the other lightsaber quickly with my free hand and laid several good strikes down. The assassin moved backwards toward a ravine that cut through the canyon. But, just as it seemed I had the advantage, the assassin spins his dual lightsaber around and manages to cut my wrist which made me drop one of my lightsabers. He then grabbed me by the throat and held me in the air.
“Listen to me, girl,” he said holding the blade close to my face, “I could kill you right now but that would be the easy way out of this fight. No. I am going to make you regret that you ever crossed paths with me. Let the scar on your wrist be a constant reminder as the day you almost caught your Master’s killer.”
He then sucker punched me in the face and everything went dark.

Fall (A Star Wars OC Story) Chapter One
They say that the worse part about being a Jedi is the continuous witnessing of death and destruction. Or at least that is what my master would tell me and before the death and destruction didn’t bother me. But when I witnessed the death of my own master, I began to finally see the real picture of the Clone Wars.
When the pilot was landed at the Jedi Temple in the metropolitan planet of Coruscant there were dark clouds covering the skies and a small amount of rain was beginning to fall. I sat next to my master’s casket wearing my dark brown cloak with the hood up. I continued to stare at the casket, I had cried nearly the entire trip back and now all I felt was emptiness. The platform of the ship opened to reveal all the members of the Jedi Council, they too had their hoods up.
Stand up, Natalia, I told myself.
Slowly making my way down the platform, I didn’t make eye contact with anyone as I walked into Jedi Temple. Once inside, I parted ways with my old master as his body needed to be prepared for the burial ceremony. Watching the two clones push him down the hall, I felt a presence come over me and a voice.
Remember that death isn’t the end. It is merely the beginning.
It was the voice of my master.
“Natalia,” I heard behind me.
Turning around, I saw that it was Anakin Skywalker. He and I were good friends and often times were told that we could be twins. We wore similar Jedi robes and had the same colored hair but mine was longer and always worn in a braided ponytail. I could always talk to him but today was a day I needed to be alone. Ignoring his words, I walked down the hallway where they took my master. I knew that Anakin would try and follow me.
“Let her be, Anakin,” I heard someone say, “She has a lot to process.”
-------------------------------
The funeral was brief. I, the Jedi Council and several other Jedi stood around to watch the cremation of this once powerful Jedi Master. While Master Shun never wanted a padawan at first, he grew to like me, just as I had grown to like him. In my hands I held his lightsaber and I would hold onto it so long as I was a Jedi. After the ceremony ended and everyone filed out, I decided to retreat to a secret spot in the Temple that I found when I was a youngling. It was in a tower that was toward the back of the building, very few people knew about it and I liked it that way. It was my escape from the never-ending war.
It was a small circular room that had a giant glass window that overlooked Coruscant. Small trinkets laid around and random posters covered the walls. I made this space into my own. Sitting on a cushioned bench, I had my knees to my chest as I watched the falling sun.
What is going to happen to me now, I thought, I don’t know if I can do this without you, Master.
My thoughts soon ended by the door opening. In walked a clone, who was dressed in all white and whose helmet was off to reveal his bald head with small purple tattooed lines on it.
“Hey Nat,” he said, “Thought I would find you up here.”
“I am really not in the mood, Knight,” I said looking back out the window, “I just wanna be alone.”
He let out a sigh, “I’m sorry about what happened, Nat. I can’t imagine what is going through your mind right now. But, know that you have a lot of people who are here to help you.”
“Help me,” I said looking at Knight, “All the council wants to do is stick me with another Master so I can continue my training. They don’t care about my wellbeing. They are expecting me to just get over this.”
Knight placed his helmet down on a nearby table and sat next to me placing a gentle arm around me.
“I care about you,” he said, “I don’t want to see you suffer like this alone. Talk to me.”
I laid my head against Knight’s shoulder and began to cry. With his free arm, he wrapped it around me and hugged me.
“I got you, Nat,” he said, “I’ve got you.”
I knew that this relationship that I had with Knight was wrong and he knew it as well. But we didn’t care because we were in love. It is what happens when you spend a generous amount of time with someone, it is only human. The relationship started about six months ago, Knight was the only person who cared to listen to what I had to say and whenever I was around him, I felt safe. This moment was then ruined by my comm link going off.
I groaned and then answered, “Yes.”
“This is Master Windu. Your presence is requested before the Council.”
I didn’t respond back and simply stood up.
“See,” I said, “Told you that they only care about my training.”
Knight stood up and gave me a small peck on the top of my head before I left the room. Out in the hallway, I noticed all eyes falling on me, whispers began to rise amongst the other padawans and younglings. The girl who lost her master. The girl who had no idea what she was going to do. The girl with no future. Arriving outside the council room, Anakin stood there with Captain Rex.
“Natalia,” Anakin said, “How are you doing?”
I paused for a second, “I am being summoned to appear in front of the council the day that I cremated my master. I could be better.”
Before Anakin could respond, I walked into the council room, with Anakin following behind me. I stood in the center of the room, all the council’s eyes on me.
“Natalia,” Windu began, “Let me start by saying, we are sorry for the passing of your Master. Master Shun was truly a one of a kind Jedi and will be missed greatly.”
I remained silent with my arms crossed.
“There is now the conversation about your training,” Windu said, “While we don’t have a new master set up for you yet. We can provide you with a temporary one. Master Kenobi has offered to take on this task.”
I looked over at Master Kenobi who was smiling at me.
“Glad to know that my training is a task for you all,” I said, “It has even been a day and you are moving on as if this happened last year.”
There was a silence that gripped the air. The kind that was unsettling and one that no one wants to the first to speak in.
“Master Shun would want you to continue your training,” Obi-Wan finally said, “We haven’t forgotten what a wonderful master he was to you and I promise that I will do my best to keep to his teaching methods. He may be gone, Natalia but I assure you he isn’t forgotten.”
I remained silent again. There was no more energy left in me to fight anymore. At least not today.
“Fine,” I said, “Is there something else or can I finally get some sleep?”
“That will be all for now,” Windu said, “Thank you Natalia.”
I gave a slight bow and left the room. When the doors shut behind me, I stayed outside in the hallway and listened in.
“Master Skywalker,” Windu said, “How well do you know Natalia?”
Anakin was silent for a few moments and then said, “Well enough to know that probably assigning her a new master the day that her old master got cremated was not the best move.”
“It is important that a Padawan’s training is uninterrupted,” Windu said, “We shall allow for Natalia to mourn the loss of Master Shun but we also need to ensure that she is still on the path to becoming a Jedi Knight.”
“How considerate of you,” Anakin said sarcastically.
I gave a half smile at the fact that Anakin tried to stick up for me. Only a true friend would do that.
-------------------------------------
Darkness is all that consumed me. No matter where I looked that is what I saw.
Hello, I said as my voice echoed.
I also wasn’t wearing my normal grey and black Jedi robes; they were all white.
Hello, my padawan, a voice said behind her.
Turning around, I saw that is was Master Shun. His kind eyes and slight long grey beard made me smile. I always joked with him that one day I would shave this beard. Too bad that day never came.
Still never got around to shaving it off, I smiled, I miss you.
He smiled and then cocked his head to one side, Do you really though?
The smile disappeared from his face and he began walking toward me. My stance tightened.
If you really cared about me, you would have been there for me. But you weren’t.
No, I said, I tried but I couldn’t.
You left me for death, Natalia he said stopping in front of me, And now you have to live with that burden for the rest of your life.
Suddenly a red blade shot through Master Shun’s chest.
----------------------
I shot up from my sleep to find that I was safe in my room within the Jedi Temple. My face was dripping with sweat and my breathing was fast. After a few moments, I began to calm down and arose from my bed and exited the room. It was early in the morning. Early enough where the hallways in the Temple were quiet and empty. I made my way down the hallway and looked up at the window art that depicted the great Jedi Knights before me. I was always inspired to be like them one day, wanting that glory, that honor. I then entered a small meditation on my left and saw that Master Yoda was there.
“Master Yoda,” I said entering, “I didn’t expect anyone to be up this early.”
“Trouble sleep you are having,” he said opening his eyes.
“Something like,” I said sitting down.
“Bad dreams about you master, hm?”
I shifted in my seat thinking about the dream. It felt so real to me, as if I was witnessing his death all over again.
“I know that we aren’t supposed to form attachments to people,” I began, “I tried to not be too attached to Master Shun and I didn’t think losing him would affect me this much. But every time I think about what happened, I think about ways I could have prevented him from dying. What I could have done differently.”
I sighed and continued, “I don’t know if I can continue down this path without him. While I agree that Master Kenobi is a great teacher, nothing will replace the bond that I had with Master Shun.”
“A hole that will never be filled,” Master Yoda said, “With the Force your master is. With you he is.”
He was right.
“Perhaps discussing what happened could help.”
Here it was. The moment that I was dreading. I knew it would have to be discussed at some point after all I was the only person with Master Shun at the time of his death.
“It was a standard recon mission that went bad,” I began, “We had gotten word that battle droids were spotted on the planet Oria. Some local had reported it. Master Shun knew he should have told the council, but we were in the same sector. So, we decided to just go. To not cause any fear amongst the locals, Master Shun ordered that he and I were just to go down.”
I paused in reflection on that day. I remembered every moment leading up to leaving for Oria with Master Shun.
--------------------
“Natalia,” Master Shun said with a slight British accent, “Are you still with me?”
He and I sat in our individual fighters, flying toward Oria’s surface.
“Sorry Master,” I said shaking my head, “I am here. Just preparing myself for what we might face.”
“Well good,” he said over the comms, “If the Separatist are here, we need to be ready.”
Going through Oria’s atmosphere, the sand and desolate planet came into full view. Oria was known for two things, bounty hunters and unbelievable hot weather. I and Master Shun knew we had to be careful. Landing on the sandy ground, Master Shun was the first to jump out and look out at the horizon.
“Isn’t it nighttime here,” I said walking up to him, “Why is it so hot?”
“Welcome to Oria,” Master Shun said walking, “Come. The location of where the battle droids supposedly are isn’t far from here.”
I followed behind my master as we made our way up and down the sand dunes. The air was quiet, minus the few creatures that lived on this hot dusty rock. Soon, we found ourselves in a dried-up river bed. It was deep, with huge walls of rock and sand on either side of them.
“Hm,” Master Shun said stopping, “Looks like the intel was wrong. We should have been able to see them from here.”
I looked side to side and then shrugged, “Well, I guess that’s that.”
Suddenly I heard the sound of a lightsaber activating behind me.
“Look out,” my master said activating his lightsaber.
He used the Force to push me out of the way of the assassin’s deadly strike. Falling off to the side, I was quick to my feet and soon was engaging in the battle with my master. Wearing all black, the assassin held a double-sided red lightsaber in one hand and a knife in the other, a hood covered their face. This assassin was well trained and always seemed to be one step ahead of Master Shun and myself. We dueled our way out of the canyon and up a cliff. I dodged each blow left and right but was caught off guard by the assassin’s foot which made me stumble backwards and fall over the edge.
“NO,” Master Shun shouted.
Luckily I managed to grab onto a root that was sticking out the side of the cliff, and with the strength I had left in me, I climbed up to the top. When I got there, I saw my master had locked his lightsaber with the assassin’s and was pushing them into the ground.
“MASTER LOOK OUT,” I shouted.
Master Shun looked back at me and then the assassin drove the knife into chest.
“NO,” I shouted jumping up.
Master Shun fell to his side as I jumped in the air with my lightsaber ignited. The assassin then Force-held me in the air and pushed me back, making me hit my head.
--------------------
“When I woke up, Master Shun was dead and the assassin escaped,” I said looking at Master Yoda, “I tried to help. But it was too late. He was gone.”
I looked down at the ground. Trying to hold back the tears.
“Find this assassin we must,” Master Yoda said, “Discuss with the council I will.”
“I want to help,” I said looking up.
“No,” Master Yoda said immediately, “Too emotionally involved you are. Reflect on this you must. Trust the council, you should.”
“But---.”
“A final decision I have made,” Master Yoda said walking out of the room, “Stay here, you must.”
I watched as Master Yoda left the room. When the door shut, I took my Master’s lightsaber off my belt and gripped it tight.
“I will find who did this,” I said, “That is my promise to you.”
