"No one is dead...Thank goodness." Mina did feel bad for waking him up so early, but she needed help and he happened to be one of the only people that picked up her phone call so early in the morning. "These kittens need help. There's at least four of them and they just can't stay abandoned like this.--Can you help me take them back to my place? I don't think it would be good putting them in my bike basket."

"Someone had better be dead and if they're not you might be." His attitude was only intensified by the fact he'd only gotten four hours of sleep. "Because nothing is so important that you got me up at six am on a Sunday."

"It's definitely something...." Mina responded as she looked around cautiously, feeling as though she may get in trouble for being in the vicinity. She wasn't sure of the rules, but something told her that might be an action that could get someone kicked out. "Was that even legal, though?"

Not even bothering to look around, Lunara digs a permanent marker out of her pocket and draws a goatee and devil horns on a face in one of the paintings, then caps it. To the person next to her, whom she realizes just saw her doing it, she says, "Looks better, right?" Then she offers the marker out to them. "Still needs something, though."

Mina's brows knitted together as she thought deeply about his question. "Do I still get a dollar if I say that I truly don't hate anyone? Sure, some people deserve to step on a lego but to hate someone enough to actually care if it actually happens to them seems like a waste of energy."

"For one dollar," says Julian, holding it up, "can you tell me about somebody you hate so much you genuinely don't think you'd be upset to find out something horrible happened to them? It can be a celebrity or someone in real life, I don't care, as long as it's true and I believe you."

"Focusing on at least the good of the year can't be that bad right? But I do get what you're saying. Tonight is about the possibilities of next year. So yeah, no more pondering." As the blonde took a sip from her drink, Mina thought this would be a good way to pivot the conversation even more. "What are you drinking? Speaking of possibilities, I think I should try a new drink tonight."

Cutting in, she shook her head. "I think we've all done enough pondering for a year; let's not. Not tonight." It had been a long year. They all had their good and bad moments but tonight wasn't about fretting over what was done and past. "We should focus on happier things" she offered taking a sip.

"I've been sampling the food all night and I have to agree with you. It's pretty delicious." Mina was about to object to taking his food, but instead she decided to share her own as if they were doing an exchange. "I haven't yet." With a smile, Mina snagged the mushroom cap from his plate, before holding up the plate that was in her hand. "Have you tried these mini meatballs?"

"I can't say that I have the most fancy palette, but I'm really on board with what they're serving here. Only problem is is that you gotta snag a whole tray to even halfway satisfy your hunger," Gideon observes, offering his tiny cocktail plate to the other.
"You tried these stuffed mushroom caps yet?"

Mina was so surprised that her brother was able to get her to ditch her comfy couch, put on a beautiful dress, and actually be social on New Year's Eve, but here she was, standing in a corner and eating nothing but a shrimp cocktail. Which is exactly why when she saw someone else leaving out of the crowd, she did the same thing and followed. "...Oh, I know." Mina replied as she walked closer to her. "I saw that you dipped and thought I might do the same. There's a lot of people in there and I'd rather be with my pets, honestly."

stealing a bottle of wine for herself was very unlike her, but she needed to get away from the crowd inside--it was beginning to feel a little suffocating. that's how she ended up on the beachfront, her heels thrown haphazardly on the sand as she perched in front of the crashing the waves without a care for her pristine gown getting sand all over it. as footsteps neared, eleanor remained engrossed in the rhythm of the waves, a picture of serene isolation against the backdrop of the moonlit beach. without diverting her gaze from the ocean, she murmured, " party's that way—unless you want some wine, then you can have some as long as you don't tell on me. Did Mina think that she would have to resort to randomly sitting with someone to enjoy her pancakes? Nope. Was that exactly what she found herself doing as she scooted into a booth where a blonde woman was already sitting. Yes. "I'm so..." She was about to apologize and beg to sit down, assuming that she was about to object to her sitting there but it seemed she resigned to the thought and Mina could breathe easy. "Thank you. It was either here or in the booth with the parents arguing with their children to eat pot pie...It just didn't seem like an enjoyable dining experience."

Erica was nursing a coffee, black with sugar, when someone began slipping into the booth opposite her. Instantly her brow furrowed, speaking before she'd even looked up. "Hey, what do you think---" However, when she did finally lift her gaze, she noticed that every other seat was full...not that there were many to start with in the small diner. Letting out a sigh, Erica relented, shaking her head. "Sit, if you want."

Mina raised an eyebrow at his question and almost on impulse, she leaned in a little closer trying to get a glimpse of what was on his screen and who he was speaking about. "I guess that depends. Are they criminal bad, a shitty human being, or do you just not like them?"

"Well I guess it's good that I can service my own self." Mina joked as she continued to straighten up a shelf nearby and speak with her co-worker. "Carol of the Bells is definitely my favorite Christmas song. I listen to every version of it on a nightly basis. I can't believe you don't like such an incredible song. If you ask me, that makes you psychotic." Based on the blank expression on her face, it would be hard to see that she was messing around. "--Only joking. Who says that Carol of the Bells is their favorite Christmas song? That's weird.--My favorite is Last Christmas."

Wren was pretty sure the Christmas tree vinyl display she'd made was her masterpiece (made with damaged records that were going to be trashed anyways). And surrounding it was what she considered the best records of the year- along with the best holiday albums that were currently playing on rotation on the store's speakers thanks to her. "What's your favorite Holiday song? And if you say Carol of the Bells I may just reserve my right to refuse service and kick you out for being psychotic."

Welcome to Aurora Bay, [MINA MOON]! I couldn’t help but notice you look an awful lot like [BAE SUZY]. You must be the [TWENTY-FOUR] year old [ATTENDANT AT TIDAL WAVE MUSIC SHOP]. Word is you’re [CREATIVE] but can also be a bit [IMPATIENT] and your favorite song is [SOMEWHERE ONLY WE KNOW BY KEANE]. I also heard you’ll be staying in [SEABROOK QUARTER]. I’m sure you’ll love it!
Basics:
Full name: Mina Moon
Nickname: M
Age: 24
Birthdate: February 11th, 1999
Sun,Moon,Rising: Pisces, Taurus, Pisces
Hometown: Aurora Bay
Job: Attendant at Tidal Wave Music Shop
Been in Aurora Bay: 24 years (left for 2 years, has been back for 1 year)
Bio:
Mina is the middle child and only daughter of Dae and Hana Moon. Her parents immigrated from Seoul to Aurora Bay years before she was conceived with her paternal grandmother following along.
Her father works as a financial advisor, while her mother is homemaker. Mina's mother was a social butterfly and from the moment she stepped foot into Aurora Bay, she opened up their house. Her house was the fun house. Karaoke and game night were a staple of the weekends.
While her household was social, Mina remained more on the quiet side. Her favorite pastimes were playing dolls, reading, writing and playing the piano. Much of those hobbies are still the same in her life, but she swapped the dolls for the sims franchise.
Despite her quiet nature, it was always easy for Mina to make and keep friends, just like all of the Moon family.
Mina always felt a sense of overprotection from her family, being that she was the only girl. Her father guarded her way too much, while her mother had high expectations of their gifted daughter. All of that has caused her to become a perpetual people-pleaser with a tendency to have no boundaries and lack of being able to say 'no'.
Wanting to make her parents happy, at their request, she stayed in Aurora Bay after high school and attended the local college gaining a degree in accounting. Something that she thought was soul sucking for her creative side but practical from a financial side.
Upon graduating, she was offered a job in Chicago and gladly took it to get away from the limitations she felt her parents put on her.
It was in Chicago that she realized her degree would go to waste because there was no way she could continue being an accountant. She lasted in her job for a year, before quitting and taking a job as a barista. It was a small little coffee shop that had open mic nights, which sparked Mina's love for music again.
With her cheap keyboard, Mina began writing her own songs and composing her own music. Sometimes even playing at the coffee shop that she worked at. She continued this for a year.
Alas, the rent was too damn high and Mina had no other choice but to return to Aurora Bay. Luckily for her, Mina didn't have an onslaught of questions from her parents because they had moved to Texas a few months before she came back. She never told them that she quit her job long ago and lies even until this day, telling them that she was laid off due to budget cuts.
She lives in her childhood home with her grandmother. Her grandmother has made it a point not to hassle Mina as she figures out what she wants in life.
She's in a transitional period and completely at a lost for what her goals are and what comes next.
Headcanons:
Mina has an extreme sweet tooth. Catch at the bakery at least three times a week.
Mina has at least six songs that she has wrote and amatuerly recorded but refuses to let anyone but close friends listen to them.
She travels outside of Aurora Bay and to major cities every other weekend to play at bars and sing covers of popular songs.
Mina has a black cat named Severus and a pug named Daenerys.
Despite her lying to her parents about her life direction, Mina is extremely close to her family. She has an older brother(wanted connection) still living in town that she sees frequently.
Important Relationships:
Family; Parents: Dae and Hana Moon, Siblings: Ewan Moon (26), Jaeson Moon (19), Grandmother: Da-Eun Moon
Platonic; Plots wanted: Childhood friends, family friends, work buddies, college friends, sibling-like relationships.
Romantic; Plots wanted: First love, unrequited crush. Mina has only had one relationship in her life. So that person would remain very special to her.

It was only after Mina had shoved a sample-size piece of a new holiday cookie into her mouth that she realized someone was addressing her. Nodding her head, Mina chewed as quickly as she could, so she could give her an answer. "I've never known it not to be homemade. I see them baking all the time and I'm honestly here a lot." Mina finally replied with a small smile on her lips. "Everything is really good here. The treats are cute and delicious."
Location: Sweet Nothings Bakery
Status: Open

Seeing the bakery from across the street Daisy knew she was obsessed, not only did the name remind her of one of the songs from Midnights but it had the cutest aesthetic that she just had to see for herself; "These are so cute!" exclaiming to the person beside her; "Sorry are you trying to see? I'm probably blocking your view" being suddenly conscious of those that were around her; "You can go first if you want I am just admiring the treats, do you know if they are home made?" Only having gotten here not too long ago.

Is Apple pie still in the container? Check. That was the only thing that Mina could think about as someone collided with her. Did she have a splatter of coffee splashed onto her dress? Yes, but her pie was okay and that's all that mattered at the moment. "It's really okay. It will come out." Mina reassured her with a small smile on her lips. "You didn't elbow me. Just scared me.--Are you okay? You seem like you could use some more coffee."
starter: open @aurorabaystarter location: all-nighter diner
Whether it was the late night or early hours, time had a way of getting away from her. Especially these days, with the autumn weather looking closer to winter every day, even the daylight seemed darker. She wasn't sleeping, and obsessing more than usual — which was probably why, in the action of getting up from her seat at the diner and collecting her things, she ended up not looking behind her before she went to turn and collided with someone, spilling everything. Sheets of forms and files from her folder went flying, but the real offender was the contents of a coffee cup that had long since gone cold splashing onto somebody in her path. "Oh my god, I am so sorry!" Instinctively she went to grab a napkin to try and absolve the liquid before it settled. "I promise, I will pay for the dry cleaning or to replace it if that doesn't come out. Are you okay? Did I elbow you?"

With her favorite smoothie in hand, Mina made her way toward the Tower Apartments to visit some friends. It wasn't until she was being addressed that Mina even put together what just happened in front of her. "Uh, yeah. I do. I can actually take you. I'm heading there now." Mina took a good look at the blonde in front of her, realizing that she had never seen her before. "If I'm going to be a tour guide of sorts, I guess I should introduce myself.--I'm Mina."
Open: @aurorabaystarter
Location: Streets of Aurora Bay, CA
It had been four days since she pulled up to the apartments. Her car practically on its last leg, Clare was really hoping this leap of faith would not be in vain. The first thirty-six hours was left to acclimating to the time difference. The last two days were spent mapping out the town. It was her own fault that she didn't watch the teens on skateboards speed by her, causing her to smash her cellphone. With zero clue how to return back to her apartment, she turned around at the sound of someone approaching. "Uh hi...do you know the best way to get back to the towers apartment?"
