Every once in a while, she’ll get worked up and cry like that. But that’s OK. She’s letting out her feelings. The scary thing is not being able to do that. When your feelings build up and harden and die inside, then you’re in big trouble.

The gifts that mean most to a parent are those not of any material value, but the ones that through our own time and effort we made as children. Life is hardly perfect like the misspelled words that you wrote with crayons in a card to your mom, but in every sense the misspelled words are the most genuine feelings that we write in life. With a purple crayon in hand, we try to write our emotions on the 99 cent Hallmark card, that is the feeling of gratitude that you can express to your own mother, but gratitude is not an emotion contained in an single moment but rather one that permeates our entire lives.
Gratitude is not something that you just express on Thanksgiving, on Christmas, or at your mother’s funeral; but should be a call to which you live your life everyday that you breathe on this planet. A gift in essence is a form of gratitude, however the gratitude is the true gift for those who pay careful attention. Not what one gives a lover on Valentines day, but by the gratitude they show through time that they spend with their other; by what a single parent struggles to give their child on Christmas day rather than what she cannot give. Gratitude is a trait that can allow one to spread love around to those who surround them, yet expectations often make us insensitive to notice everything that we should be grateful of. When we expect everything of the world and the world can only give us something, we become sorely disappointed without ever looking at what the world has given us. Blessed is he who can truly comprehend all that he has and all the gifts that he is given and in turn share his gratitude.
As humans we have a tendency to express gratitude for the good things that happen in our lives rather than for the more unpleasant occurrence. It is naturally easier to be thankful of a sunny day or a pleasant smile from someone rather than something that we hoped would happen otherwise, yet this negative experience serves just as useful as any positive experience if not more because every moment in our life can be thought of as a lesson. We on here on this planet with other people, other cultures, other languages, and other religions because we are here to learn from them. Rather than turning away everything that discomforts us, we need to acknowledge these everything that bothers us and come forthright to make peace with these emotions. Whether it is someone who rudely honks at you in the morning on the way to work or that person you can’t stand at work, the universe has placed this situation in front of you for the sake of your own spiritual growth and will continue to rehash its’ lesson till one comes to terms with what bothers them. Pain is the gift and we show gratitude to the lesson by studying and learning from these experiences. Pain is the emotion that we don’t want to feel, but must feel in order for growth. Pain is a beautiful gift.
 Namaste,Forrest Curran

It's so common how people feed off their angry and hate out of revenge that it gradually leads into much more pain.. It may feel good for the moment, but what's the feeling after?
