“And how am I supposed to do that when I don’t sleep?” He asks. It came off a bit harsher than he would have liked. At least when he was human he could pass out for eight hours. As a Synth, well, he couldn’t sleep.

"Perhaps by thanking your team of helpers." She gestures to the four standing around him. "I know it is hard for you not to go off on a new case but it is imperative not to get more overworked at the moment."

"I can step in on case work." Rox offered. "Preston and the General woukd most certainly understand."

The blonde gave a soft snort before sitting back. "If it were that easy, think a lot less would happen around here."

Amari returned after gathering some supplies, patching the minuteman up after checking in on Nick. With a flash of light to his eyes, she gave a hum. "It looks like you'll recover, but I cannot stress this enough. You must rest. Too much stress on your new parts could put you out of sorts again."

He’d gone out on a missing persons case. A boy, no older than ten had disappeared during the night without explanation. It was the fifth case this month, and he was afraid that there would be more. Just when he had finally found a clue, he was captured by the Rust Devils. Nick’s memory of the time he was captured was vague, but he didn’t need memory. When he had escaped his right leg had a gaping hole, as well as his arms. Pieces had been removed from his legs, and the side of his head was cracked. He’d eventually managed to get to safety, trying his best not to pass out on the way there. Odd, considering he didn’t have a need to sleep. He’s aware that someone was shouting at him, presumably asking if he was okay, or what happened to him. He assumed it was the latter.

“Got… taken by Rust Devils.” He answers.

Nick Valentine, being the only companion who was alive before the war, is the only one besides Sole who has a birth certificate and a baptismal certificate floating around somewhere in some archive in the Commonwealth. MacCready is the only one who’s come close to it; there used to be a baptism-inspired initiation into being Mayor of Little Lamplight where they were dunked in a river of rad water to prove their strength… that’s sorta like baptism, right Sole? (“Not really, RJ”, they say)

She gripped his hand, her lip trembling a bit as she took a deep breathe. Rox couldn't seem to really seem to talk for a moment, opening her mouth before closing it. "I'm sorry.."

Carl nods, knowing how quickly that feeling could sneak up on people. He hadn’t noticed anything off from her, but how could he know what was happening on a more personal level.

“It’s alright. If you need some space or alone time just let me know.”

"I'm scared.." She whispered, fiddling with the button on her jacket. "I've heard..stories of people discovering they weren't..weren't people and everything began to unravel." There is a look of child like terror on her face as she spoke, no longer able to look him in the eye. Granted, sharing patrols with the BoS wasn't exactly the best but it was a neutral option.
