Favourite muse(s) you’ve written: It’s hard to say? I like writing all of the ones I written, so I can’t exactly pick a favorite. Perhaps Chip/Light Gaia? It’s not so much that he’s my “favorite” though as he’s the one who feels best to play, just because of his happy attitude; he always puts me in a good mood when I write him. But I like writing all my others, too!
What inspired you to take on your current muse (that you are posting this on): I actually got into playing Riku a while ago -- my old multi-ship blog for him is still up, in fact. For this particular rendition, though, it’s obvious that my Sora, Hana, is to blame. She wanted to make a Sora blog, and of course naturally I wanted to match, and so here we are!
What are your favourite aspects of your current muse: Honestly, it’s the aspects I feel that this fandom wants to erase about him. I find a lot of people who depict Riku want to get rid of his jealousy, but I actually like that about him. I like how he’s deeply flawed, yet can still be utterly kind; shy and Soft, and yet he’s also got a jealous streak to him that he has to hold back. It’s always made him interesting to me, plus it’s a little #relatable sometimes. I hate getting rid of the jealousy entirely because it diminishes what he’s struggled through throughout the games. I mean, the reason he acts the way he does in KH1 is because he’s a jealous bitch lol
What’s your biggest inspiration when it comes to writing: Honestly, if I find I’m having trouble grasping a character, I just rewatch cutscenes of that character. Alternatively, I play the game the character comes from. I also like doing lots of Generic AUs that other people might find boring, such as high school AUs and the like. Those usually get me motivated to do bigger AUs later in the future.
Favourite types of threads: I don’t really have a “favorite type”; it just depends on my current mood. My favorite genre overall is hurt/comfort, but even there I would not want every thread to be that and only that! I like doing humor and crack threads, and I like doing sprawling adventure threads, and I also like just soft fluff. Whatever glove fits!
Biggest struggle in regards to your current muse: Riku is really complex and I want to do him justice in this regard, and as a result I tend to fret over how well I’m actually writing him. I want his jealousy to be clear within my writing. I want it also to be clear that while he is a good guy, he has his vices, temptations by the darkness as well as a Sora-centric focus that makes it so he can make some morally gray decisions. Sometimes I feel I write him too simplistic.
