REVIEW: X-Men: Days Of Future Passed
More than any other film, The Matrix created the modern comic book movie. But Fox deserves the credit for taking that sensibility and applying it to actual comic characters. Under the guidance of director Bryan Singer, the X-Men, a series of characters who were popular with comic readers but almost unheard of outside of that world became an enormous motion picture franchise.
As is so often the case, Fox burned that franchise too quickly, and a series of missteps created a series of films that made money, but disappointed the fans, gradually turned off the public, and wrote the franchise into a corner. Fox took a page from Marvel and went back to the beginning with X-Men: First Class. The film was well-done, and allowed them to recast some characters with younger actors without entirely rebooting. So uh...
...Yeah. Easter was good. Drove to my nephew's house in Calabasas for the family Easter festivities. Still fighting a bad cold, which made enjoying the holiday less than easy. Although my nephew shoved me some Claritin so it helped, I feel kind of zombified at work now. But it was good, lots of food, talking about old times, couple gifts (wasnt expecting Easter gifts, so I didnt bring any O_o ), and so forth.
The car seemed to hold up fine on the journey, even with the slow leak in both right side tires. Need to get that looked at soon.
All in all good times were had. Hope you all had a good holiday, well those of you that actually know this blog exists.
