@benthom07 That is the complete opposite of what they believe!! You are spreading misinformation. I'm not agreeing with them, but it's dangerously counter-productive to misrepresent an opposing side's point of view.
They are against traditional gender role expectations like the man working and earning the dough while the woman is expected to stay at home to cook and clean and provide children
They acknowledge the basic truth that males and females have different life experiences but deserve equal rights and opportunities
They reject the idea that if a woman is not feminine-looking enough, she must be a man waiting to come out, and vice versa
They reject the idea that if a man wears feminine clothing and make-up, society must treat them as a woman, and be punished if they don't
This is part of the rejection that make-up + pretty colours + frilly dresses = girl stuff and not guy stuff = woman, and of the patriarchal view that women must wear make-up, and must spend time every day putting it on, doing their hair, wearing certain clothes and beautifying themselves in order to be respected in society
Many terfs are lesbians, and one point of contention for them is the idea that they are a bigot because they don't want to date someone with a penis
They also acknowledge the difference between LGB (sexualities) and T
The last point about feminism's focus on women is common among lots of feminists, not just unique to terfs. But I somewhat agree with you there, feminism hopes to bring gender equality by rebalancing inequalities set by the patriarchal foundations, and so the focus is on improving women's rights, reflected in its name. I hope there can be a better ideology that does all those positive things, but also addresses inequalities faced by men who are also oppressed by the patriarchy, to bring a brighter future for all
