“Hey, at least you made it.” He laughed, having been walking past on his way from work.
“Oh shi–shoot, come on Danny. Let’s get you to preschool before your mothers kill me. Come on, little dude.” Aria rushed him out the door and over to her car. Getting in, she got to the school. “Just on time.” She muttered as he got him out. // @secretsummerstarters

“Hey...” Mitch did his best to work up a reassuring smile. He hadn’t meant to stare, it’s just that she’d vanished and then he realised she was the one who had gone missing and now she was here again. “Sorry.” He turned his attention back to his beer and his phone.

Ever since being back, there was very little that Audrey did on her own. She wouldn’t even sit with her back open to a room. She was constantly nervous and jittery. It was no wonder. Even right now she wasn’t actually alone. Amanda was in her office and Audrey had said she would just stay here until either Amanda left or Ricky showed up. She had gone to the bar to order a drink and was now walking back toward her little booth in the corner. She noticed someone watching her and her heart did a panicked flip. She gave a small smile though and nodded. “–hi…” she said quietly before sliding onto the bench and pushing herself against the wall.

She nodded her head and looked over at him, “ I do agree with you, it’s really a nice day. I’m surprised we haven’t gotten any snow yet.”
“Yeah, I’m pretty surprise myself. Are you one of those hoping for a white Christmas or?”

Cara was sitting on a park bench, enjoying a nice hot chocolate as someone sat next to her. “It really is, yeah. Especially for December,” she agreed before taking another sip.
“Right? Bit of good luck for once.” He chuckled, looking up at the sky. At least they weren’t being battered by hailstones.

“Up to anything interesting?” Amanda sighed gently and gave a small shrug. “Not really. My boyfriend’s sister is missing and I just ridiculously keep calling her phone, hoping one of these times she will answer…”
“Nah, just.. work and looking after wee man over there.” He nodded his head towards Daniel playing with a little chuckle. Then he turned back to her with a frown. “Shit, really? Like missing, missing or just dipped off the map?”

“I am seriously hoping you’ve run away. If you could just text me… I promise not to be mad…” Amanda knew it was ridiculous to call and leave voicemails a week after, but she couldn’t help it. She was hoping that one of these times Audrey would pick up the phone. She thought about Julianne and Imogen. She frowned. Why did things like this have to keep happening? She looked up when she heard him speak and forced a small smile. “Hi, Mitch, long time no see…”
“Yeah, been a while..” Mitch looked over at her with a light smile but it was clear to see that she was distracted or had something on her mind. “Everything alright?”

Mitch had been looking after Daniel while Brooke and Lauren had been away. He didn’t know whether he should call Steph or leave her to it, since she’d been so preoccupied with whatever she was doing. He’d thought about trying to look for Audrey from the bar since he’d kind of enjoyed their conversation but he hadn’t seen her around anywhere. He was in the park, pushing Brooklyn in the pram while watching his son playing with a friend a short distance away on the swings and such, chuckling to himself. He moved to sit down on a bench where someone already was sitting and glanced over at them, ever the friendly guy he was. “Nice day, eh?”

Audrey grinned a bit and gave a small nod. “I can agree with you there. Limits, what are they?”
He laughed, lifting his glass a little in a ‘cheers’ motion. “To no limits!”

She smiled softly. “I don’t drink a lot usually, but when I do it is certainly to excess…”
“I do like a beer after work but yeah, I’m pretty much the same these days. Not sure I know my limits.” He joked.

“Oh, yes, please…” She smiled softly and pushed her glass across the counter. “I am bound determined to get very drunk…”
Mitchell chuckled, ordering another round for them. “Girl after my own heart.”

Audrey gave a small laugh and shook her head. “I am sure that’s not true. People are probably just too bitchy to tell you.”
He chuckled, gesturing for the bartenders attention. “Eh, I dunno about that.” He shrugged, glancing over at her while he waited for the bartender. “You want another?” Mitch wondered, gesturing to her glass as he pushed his empty one across the bar.

She gave a small smile and took another generous drink from the glass. She glanced toward him and sighed. “Thanks… you have succeeded in making me feel a little better.”
Mitch laughed. “Well, you’re witnessing an historic moment then, it’s rare I manage that these days.” He joked, chuckling, though... it seemed like it was true most of the time. God, things weren’t what they used to be. “But I’m glad.”
