Day 910 of working on my debut novel.

➡️I have begun putting sugar in my coffee. Who am I? This is not very rock n roll of me.

➡️My Spotify playlists are officially all themed toward this damn book, in some ritualistic attempt to get the “vibes” right for any scene that needs editing.

➡️I am questioning my use of commas. Am I breaking the rules in a quirky way, or do I come across as ignorant? Past professors of mine will surely lie awake tonight and not know why��

Came home Friday to a fun treat. Flynn never destroys things, and hasn’t shown any signs of separation anxiety since he was a tiny baby puppy…my guess is that he thought my leather bookmark might be a toy - it was left on the bed after all, and we all know that the bed is *his* bed. Once the shredding began he could not stop. Poor buddy. And poor book. Guess that one’s not getting finished…

Expensive house repair = looking to save some coin anywhere I can. Homemade bread, bagels, pickles, and sauces for a while.

I try to keep three books going at a time - an audiobook, a bedside book, and a travel book. Exile is now being replaced by Paladin’s Grace.

One hill I will die on is that some stories genuinely work better in first person, and that people who have this rigid opposition to reading first-person narration no matter the context or premise (I see this a lot) are depriving themselves of some really excellent stories.
