New Vincent Van Gogh painting discovered

The New York Times: Amsterdam’s Van Gogh museum has unveiled a newly-discovered painting by the Dutch artist Vincent Van Gogh, the first major canvas of the artist’s work that has been found since 1928.

The work, titled ‘Sunset at Montmajour,’ was painted in Arles in 1888 during a period that is considered to be the height of Van Gogh’s career.

I plan to upload the next few "Doctors Revisited" soon -- I lost some steam after 5 -- for anyone who hasn't been able to see them. I'm also going to try, at some point, to put up a video that has a very short shelf life on DM -- the most recent take-down of the ep was just in the last few days or so. I don't remember where on the web I found this cute pic of Three & Jo -- though it looks like Katy & Jon in a publicity shot. It must have been taken during the filming of "Day of the Daleks," Since in that one, Three & Jo attempt to escape from some people employed by the Daleks, and Three, of course, commandeers a vehicle. Looks like fun, though!

Been away for a while ...

and I've probably missed all of the most earth-shattering, jaw-dropping, life-changing posts that went up in my absence. It would certainly explain the sameness of my days! ;-) Haven't had much to post, but I do want to rec the HP Friendship Fest fics. They were posted during the month of August, and there is a truly eclectic variety of fics. Practically something for everyone. Here's the >masterlist of the fics -- the authors are all anonymous right now & will be revealed in about a week. I found a few of the fics to be really great, and others looked like they were great contributions to their corner of the fandom. Check them out!

Christie’s auction house just visited to price our paintings (including Caravaggio, Rembrant, Artemisia and Orazio Gentileschi, Van Gogh, Sargent, Matisse, Degas…)  and the citizens of Michigan are getting more apprehensive about our PRICELESS art collection disappearing.

Many thanks to everyone who voted for my fics, Resolving a Misunderstanding and Death’s Dominion in the HP Fanfic Fan Poll Awards. Thanks to you, Resolving a Misunderstanding reached the top spot in the Fan Poll for the Legacy Minerva McGonagall story, and Death’s Dominion was in first in the Legacy Gen Fic category. I’m completely bowled over! Resolving a Misunderstanding is, obviously, a Minerva McGonagall fic, and is MM/AD. Death's Dominion is a Snape-centric AU 6th & 7th year fic.
