everyone is sick of reading everyone else's list of personal problems at the top of their blogs, we've been over all the reasons why this is a bad idea both interpersonally and as an online safety thing, however i think it should also be mentioned that just showing me the big list of what's wrong with you first thing when i click on your blog counts as spoilers and ruins the narrative tension. i clicked on your blog to find out over time, through a series of mysterious flashbacks and delightful subtextual nods, what's wrong with you. youre taking all the fun out of it

I once went to a café in Liverpool. Looking through the menu I saw the usual offerings of tea, tea with milk, milk with tea, etc. etc… but what caught my eye was something called Koala.

I asked my waiter about that. Turns out it’s a local specialty. Never heard of it before, so of course I had to try it.

When the tea arrived, though… it was utterly undrinkable. The tea was full of grey hairs and the occasional bit of eucalyptus. I did bravely try to drink it, only to gag on the hair. It was like trying to drink a liquefied plushie. So I said to my waiter, I said “hey, this stuff is utterly undrinkable. Can you run it through a strainer or something? Get rid of all that hair?”

The waiter gave me that look reserved for the most hopelessly ignorant tourists and shook his head firmly. “The Koala tea of Mersey is not strained”, he said.
