i actually prefer the idea of jax's fear of corn not having had any initial trigger. i mean irl there's lots of fears that are just completely irrational. it would make for decent representation, too, i think? and also it's a good habit to just... NOT ask why someone has a certain fear yk? i don't think he was abused at a farm or lost his friend in a corn maze or anything like that, i think he just has a phobia.

Sucks to see people already faulting Pomni for being buddies with Jax.

Her friendliness towards him in episode 5 is 100% a reactive response to him being more down-to-earth and friendly with her first, juxtaposing their early interactions in episodes 1-3.

Though I’m not entirely convinced yet that Jax has 100% goody goody intentions being chummy with Pomni, Pomni being nice back DOES make sense. She is stuck in a digital nightmare circus world with only 5 other real people. If one of those people who was unpleasant before starts being more chill, of course she will be receptive. She doesn’t want to be completely miserable.

Also, regardless of what you think of Jax morally, which I do respect, it’s clear no one in the circus at this point thinks of him as truly evil. They just think he’s an asshole. So it’s not shocking that if he started being nicer someone would be nice back.

just feels right to the worms in my brain. when i recorded the early eps of the show initially, gangle and jax felt like a duo to me-- not in the sense that they liked each other/had a good rapport, but rather in the sense that they felt like they were made to be complementing forces

like, a lot of the ships are good. but i don't pick ships based on quality/if they'd work out. i pick ships based on if it makes my brain go brrrr

Surprised to see not that many people talking about a lot of Jax's anger coming from a loss of bodily autonomy?

That struck me as a huge thing from this episode. From first the vegan joke to how he gets noticeably distressed from it at the bar, to realizing his tail is gone, even the maid outfit section, Jax clearly doesn't like being controlled. He tends to roll with the punches during adventures, or finds ways to have fun otherwise, but when its his own body being changed against his will, thats when he gets actually upset beyond the point of masking it with being an ass

fuck it marvel ruined steve rogers by taking a symbol of progress and sending him back to the 1950s (the decade of “traditional” values when black ppl couldn’t drink from the same water fountains as white men) for a white picket fence life w a wife he “deserved”. like they took an international fugitive wearing a dirty american flag and made him red hat coded in his appearance AND actions. and for what? for some fucked up fantasy for dudebros to self insert themselves into? “steve deserved to be happy I’d choose peggy too” maybe YOU would do that. steve, who peggy told to move on and had a whole life in the 21st century and oh idk, morals, would NOT. and bucky barnes WAS in love w steve so jot that down
